  1. No and I could be wrong, but I think he's pointing out the hypocrisy of your statement directed at Goalie. We're all hypocrites at varying degrees with some demonstrating it more than others I find.
  2. Hope for the best, plan for the worse. Didn't look good at all. Health #1, I'm sure the Bombers training staff are monitoring him closely for any effects that can surface sometimes well after the actual hit (dizziness, headaches, nauseousness, vision issues etc). Here's hoping Weston didn't suffer any effects and he's back on the field ready to go.
  3. I'm surprised he hasn't been put on the IR yet after watching him right after the helmet to helmet hit.
  4. Like I said last night on chat, I coach my son's twelve year old football team and we are required to teach Football Canada's chest plate tackling, i.e., keep the head out of tackling. I'm probably the first or second generation teaching this. A lot, if not most, older football players have been trained to tackle the traditional way. The Montreal defender lead with his head. Yes Dressler might have been wise to head out of bounds or drop his shoulder not his helmet but the defender should never ever lead with his helmet. Never. Dressler's shoulder should of met his chest, down on tackle, both get up ready for the next play. It's very frustrating to watch especially with my son who is watching how the pros do it. When they watch the game tape, I'm wondering if the coaches will try to correct that. Cynically I doubt it. For all the traditionalists out there, keeping the head out of tackling/taking a hit does not take away from the aggression and excitement of the sport.
  5. and MTL penalties.
  6. Actual fans never give up, it's more what are the appropriate levels of frustration and exhaustion allowable . . .
  7. How about our scouting? Danny Mac and company are busy I assume. And our QB coach has some coaching to do. There's no way we give up on Willy yet.
  8. If that's the case, it is on Lapo. Coaching 101 tells us you create schemes with what you got not try to fit a player into a brilliant scheme you want.
  9. I was thinking the same, in this case it has nothing to do with losing confidence in your starter, it's calling giving Montreal a different look and giving Willy time to reset and have lapo talk with him. I think sometimes we overestimate in thinking the starting QB's psyche will be forever ruined.
  10. From what I watched and maybe game tape will show something else and as you say in a different way, this was not on the OL tonight. Neil Thorpe outplayed Lapo. Chip Cox is still a beast.
  11. Gets me thinking he might be trade bait for a quality dman they desperately need and right know he's technically an unproven commodity that they can use to their advantage. Edmonton gets things just given to them, yeesh.
  12. 'Is there a worse team "defending" home turf (7-21)' Good grief.
  13. Please. It's called HardCoreBlue for a reason. And I watch (tv) every CFL game when I can. Bombers is not your club, good for you supporting the CFL I'm proud of you, seriously, obviously the health of the league but I wear Blue and Gold first CFL second not the reverse. You are opposite, no problem but this is where most hardcore bombers live so deal with that. We're not on a CFL site, it's customized for our team. Go to the CFL site and wax poetic.
  14. Yea true enough, flipside though his quick release has proven challenging at times. a INT or pick-six will help rectify that.
  15. My hope here is if we do take JP, same scenario when we went off the board and chose Scheifele as our 7th pick. Maybe we should ask Dale Hawerchuk what he thinks between PL and JP . . .
  16. True, which is good but regular season game type hits seem to be a different breed. Iffy OL aside, Willy's going to light it up tonight (I hope). Dressler gets his first TD as a Bomber 1st Quarter.
  17. It's going to happen, I'd rather it happen sooner than later to rid any lingering doubts in his mind. He hasn't taken a game hit in a very long time,
  18. I'm excited to see what looks we give on offense and how Willy bounces right back up after a hit.
  19. One. When My Bombers are in town.
  20. True, but why make a deal unless you can manipulate their desperation, you don't have to trade away the pick to get him if that's the case. We are in the position of strength, CBJ is not. Seth Jones sounds good. And for the record, my opinion, with trying to cancel out the hype, is PL is the man to take if Matthews isn't selected.
  21. By the wheel and deal feel to this, the higher risk incurred and potentially not getting the best player you could get in the draft outside of Matthews.
  22. I can't see Chevy trading away this pick, he likes more developing through the draft not wheeling and dealing. Not his MO. I don't see him pulling the trigger on this.
  23. Yes giving different looks to the defense will be a welcome change this year, with all respect to MB of course.
  24. As well, in this day in age unlike previous generations, there is a lot more protocol to follow in returning from injury.
