Okay fair enough a lot of us with young children have experienced this in the workforce but the point remains did he have follow-up conversations with management/other coaches before bailing? Before taking the signing bonus, did he communicate his family needs with management?

And even if by chance that one unnamed coach did indeed say that, have follow-up discussions with other coaches/management to verify what kind of culture he’s heading into. Having a discussion with one person than bailing on the team seems sus to me.

I love the internet for this exact reason said no one ever. It would be outstanding if one day down the road members both active and lurking (I know you’re there) meet in-person to offer up way more to each other than we do here.

Like I said pure speculation at this point on all our parts until we hear more definitive reasons from the coaching staff on why they are currently using Strev in they way they are.

Still If I was a betting person I would bet that the reason this is happening with Strev who one could argue is in a different category of skill set than Brown and Prukop were last year is some sort of injury that is not being shared which opens up a whole lot of other issues to chat about if true. I hope less speculation and more facts come out in why the reluctance in letting Strev be an actual CFL QB not a running decoy presently they have him playing. I think its a reasonable expectation that paying fans have some level of detail if indeed its an injury impeding his play. It's not like its in the middle of the playoffs where coaches don't show their hands at all with current injuries players are dealing with.

I’m a big fan of his coaching approach. I think he deserves another shot at HC sooner than later in this league.

Yup for a lot of players. Current market standard seems to be pay player 6-8 years for 3-4 years of productive service.

Come year 3 or 4 of that contract, might not look as good.

Yea I don't follow closely what he and his team does but I'm assuming he and his team are focusing most of their efforts into strengthening our product on and off the field to build a bigger fanbase/viewership/sponsorship/etc. ergo $$$$? I'm thinking having a lively discussion on the rouge rule is not part of that main effort needed. Oh you got rid of that rouge rule? Yes? Oh in that case here's my money.

Yup that's why it would be nice if Zach could mimic in some way what Anthony Calvillo did so good and get that ball out quick to his receivers.

When a reporter asked McGroarty directly why he didn’t want to go Winnipeg, the 20-year-old gave a direct answer, albeit one that might have been short on details. “My agents talked to them, then I talked to them, and I wanted to be upfront and honest with them, and tell them I wasn’t going to be signing for them,” McGroarty said. “I got nothing but respect for those guys. They handled it with a lot of class. And I wish them nothing but the best.” Shortly after the trade, McGroarty signed a three-year, entry-level contract with the Penguins, ending his NCAA career with the University of Michigan, where he spent the last two seasons. He scored 34 goals and 57 assists for 92 points in 75 games. He announced in April he would return to Michigan for the 2024-25 season, and reports out of Winnipeg indicated he and the Jets did not agree on his developmental path. As a transplanted Manitoban that I am knowing sport is a far second to the real life stuff so I'm not taking this at all seriously but for fun putting my hardcore Jet and Bomber fan face on for a second, this was not a direct answer and this young man might need a bit of humble pie fed to him. Cockiness is sometimes confused with confidence imho. Fill your boots if you think this is great leadership but I think he thinks he knows way more than he actually knows. I know I know shocking a 20 year old young man thinking they have all the answers. I have one of those 20 year old sons of my own at home. I'm liking Yager more and more. Go Jets. Penguins suck.

Not with you on this one. Then why have one if it becomes normalized in breaking it? Looks like its just for show. I think it should be more of you go over the cap you will pay dearly for doing that. Right now teams don't even think twice cuz they ain't paying dearly for it.
