I think it is all about patience when it comes to his development. I'm not sure if I agree with you that he 'stinks' this season but I do think he has definitely regressed a bit. Back in the day this was normal, now we get anxious when young players with little NHL experience don't consistently produce. I'm not giving you personally a hard time about this btw, we all (well at least most of us who don't have other favorite teams) want the Jets to succeed (i.e., win a cup) sooner than later and it won't help matters when our young star(s) are struggling.

The kid is really hard on himself. Most young athletes (even seasoned ones) go through this. Patience. He will bounce back and we will look back at this as growing pains.

My math, not knowing whether a player wants to stay or not and not knowing exactly what each player will command, controlling for all those things, will it be impossible to keep everyone we have now for next season?

I think Lowry is starting to play better which bodes us well. Plus his faceoff prowess is such an important piece case in point last night with two important faceoff wins in our end with less than a minute to go.

I think what stops you from getting behind the Jets is you cheer for another team. And what irritates me about the Oilers is being rewarded with the best player on the planet (and other consecutive 1st round draft picks) for losing. During the Oilers futility years, if the NHL did what European soccer does, the Oilers would have been regulated to playing the Oil Kings. I think some here recognize when the Jets don't deserve something but we really don't feel we need to applaud your Oilers.

Sure but they still suck. Sorry it's hard being a hardcore Jet fan living in Oiler land. It brings me joy when they lose knowing it annoys some Oiler fans here and some posters on this board.
