  1. My 11 year old son's favorite Blue Bomber is Terrence Edwards. The content in the above Tweet demonstrates one of the many reasons why. Classy move by Suber and our organization, all the best for Alex Suber. Apparently there are players who enjoy and want to play here, weird. :-)
  2. Logically Trouba, however the flip side (not withstanding his recent play), I think we could also get a great return for Trouba in the trade market (e.g., Oilers have a a lot of talent they need to shed due to salary cap) and end up of ahead at the end of the day.
  3. Completely agree with you (that's how the Esks got better, they got bigger), but Dressler is too skilled to overlook because of height imo.
  4. As much as I hate Green, Dressler sure would look good in Blue and Gold.
  5. I guess as a fan where I'm frustrated having a great deal of emotion tied to this team is the challenge of retaining/signing certain players with 2-4 year deals. For example, some people know I'm a huge huge Buff fan but even I know it's not prudent to sign him for anything over a two to three year deal. But based on what I've seen of late in sports he seems to be in the driver seat knowing that another team will more than likely sign him to a longer term deal to get that 2-3 year production out of him. I get that these players need to look after themselves and their families but still remains frustrating as a fan.
  6. I'd take that over not making the playoffs.
  7. I'll never cheer for our team to lose so we have a better chance at getting the first round pick. That's so Edmonton Oilers. Not much of a strategy, hasn't really worked for them to date.
  8. The 'change our core' is repeatably posted. Getting it to where we need it (i.e., consistently make the playoffs) doesn't happen overnight, see Chicago BlackHawks formula. If we're prepared to dismantle this team, then we have to prepare for a lot years of looking from the sidelines.
  9. Thanks Rich, much appreciated.
  10. Just make the necessary changes to make the damn playoffs, that's all I ask.
  11. http://edmontonjournal.com/sports/football/cfl/edmonton-eskimos/cfl-fines-edmonton-eskimos-gm-ed-hervey-for-comments-about-tampering Sounds like someone's a little upset about Jones and co. leaving for Sask. From what I've seen here in Edmonton, my guess he's upset at how it was done but not too upset Jones is gone. It never seemed they had a great relationship. In fact. I'm not sure Jones has a good relationship with anyone except with himself. Yes that's my anti schmoes coming out.
  12. Personally, It's about damn time. It's pretty obvious that the Jets have targets on their back, It's really obvious actually. They get calls against them that other teams constantly get away with. They should have gone on about the reffing a while ago instead of now but they are definitely right and everyone knows it. It's actually ridiculous some of the calls they get. Will complaining about it help? Maybe, Maybe not. I have no issues with the Jets getting called for these penalties as long as the other team they are playing gets them same calls against them and they don't so the Jets have a valid point. I'm with you on this. Can't hurt. Let's officiating know we've noticed. We're a big strong team that shouldn't be penalized for aggressiveness within the rules. Not upset over the dumb (i.e., lazy) penalties though, no issue with the refs there, that's on us.
  13. Those are the worst kind.
  14. You did mention though from a previous post that his linemates are dragging him down. I don't think that's entirely accurate to place his 'learning the game' play on the back of others. That's all I'm saying with Ehlers, I like him and he's responsible for his play like any other player on this team.
  15. Well then, apparently based on a few posters here and maybe even Ehlers himself, his response should have been, "Thanks for the question, but it's not a boost in my confidence that's needed, but a boost in linemate talent is what's needed' . . .. Or maybe he just needs time to work through and adjust to the elevated competition in the NHL like most rookies do. 100% agree.
  16. Well then, apparently based on a few posters here and maybe even Ehlers himself, his response should have been, "Thanks for the question, but it's not a boost in my confidence that's needed, but a boost in linemate talent is what's needed' . . ..
  17. Cautious optimism, great way at putting it. I don't know but I think if we landed Maas, a lot of us would be changing that word cautious with nervous.
  18. My guess it has to do with cheering for our identity (that's a whole other debate) and wanting to feel as a collective. It always sounds better to me when it's done in our opponents home barns.
  19. One can't pin Ehlers play of late on Thorburn. That's on Ehlers. Thorburn has nothing to do with Ehlers making bad decisions. He seems to be lacking confidence lately.
  20. No one's fooled at all... Semin is awful. That being said, I would have been totally fine with Stempniak on the third line with Burmi/Ehlers instead of Thorburn. I think Maurice and company have a lot more love for Thorburn then some on this cite. Not the most athletic guy out there but I don't mind Thorburn, plays his role fairly well and chips in offensively now and then. Needs to clean up the dumb penalties but can say that for a few others as well.
  21. Garry Galley mentioned in passing that the head refs can't review an offside challenge which then forced the linesman to review it for 9 and half hours. Insane. Trouba fighting was pure 'i got your back' type approach. That's hockey.
  22. And Holtby was the reason the score was close for the Caps.
  23. The answer to your question will come in the form of your posts on this site right before the game, during the game and after the game. If you do try this out let us know so we can all get our popcorn and watch (in this case read) the show :-).
  24. Actually I hope he's not making decisions with this mindset as he'd be more apt to make a mistake.
