  1. Problem is, Kane will more than likely be on the ir . . .
  2. “I just didn’t feel as though (the Jets) had my back at all. It would have been so simple to just squash it and put it to bed. It just became kind of a big deal,” he told The Hockey News. So Evander, you're expecting the club to shelter you from your misguided views and inappropriate behaviour? Whether you like it or not, what you do off the ice on your own time matters to your employer. Comes with the territory and your compensation package.
  3. What I would like to know is what's been professional about this team in the last years? Our way of fielding a team on the field? Our OC finally falling out of bed at half time asking when did the game start? If Miller were to hire a crap OC who would end up taking the heat for it? Sure not him as in this year. Sums up nicely the reason for our offensive 'creativity'.
  4. Charest was an opportunist leaving the Conservatives to become leader of the Quebec Libs & then premier. He'd never be successful as leader & he has old ties to Brian Mulroney . This is one of my biggest pet peeves with how certain candidates do their thing regardless of political stripe.
  5. In some cases (not all), it's not an 'either or' i.e., True fan or Non-fan when we judge people on their behaviour towards the Bombers in these times of futility. People handle and display their frustration differently when it comes to the Blue Bombers , that's all. It doesn't make them any more or less of a true fan. And again, I'm not referring to the extreme cases of 'My favorite team is the team that won the championship last year' fan to the 'I chose to devalue any legitimate frustration to my team as being a non-fan' fan .
  6. Why? They don't allow refused ballots anymore and they don't count spoiled ballots in any fashion, so how is a spoiled ballot making any point? I still have not voted and may not as I can't stand any of the three parties and we don't have any others running here. I am not going to vote for someone I don't agree with and, as I can't make a counted protest vote, WTF is the point? BTW, Harper campaigning with the Fords was the last straw. I understand your dilemma but no one said who to vote for is always straightforward or easy. For some of us there is never that perfect scenario but it's up to each of us as individuals to make tan informed decision of what is the most viable solution that hits some of the things you believe in. Just vote. You'll feel better regardless of the outcome.
  7. For some it wasn't panic, it was more joy living as a Jet fan in Oil land.
  8. For more knowledgeable people than me, why is it that a team like Tampa Bay can thrive but not Florida?
  9. Here comes minority supporting voice for Buff on this site. People around me in Alberta (mostly Olier and Flame fans) are fascinated that some of our fan base want to trade Buff. I'm in that group as well. I'd like to have Buff for three to four more years than free him up if anyone wants him. Yes I think I know his liabilities (which at certain points can be maddening) but I strongly believe his strengths outweigh those risks. Ladd and Buff are playing for big time contracts right now.
  10. Actually their schedule was real the day it began imo. Two back to back games in hostile environments and then the pressure of a home opener. Yes some would argue the calibre of most teams they played thus far isn't up to par but rarely on any given night is there any freebies.
  11. Agree, his every shift seems to be assessed and broken down. No wonder you hear he's mature beyond his years, he has to be.
  12. What does this mean exactly? Powers that be want? Racial divide. Ever heard of divide and conquer? I was more wondering who these specific 'powers to be' are outside of the sweeping generalizations made here.
  13. No I'm not thanks for asking, but if it helps answer it like I am, if you'd like of course.
  14. This analogy sucked the first time you used it too. Is a nerdy economist like Harper a better fit to be a leader than a charismatic pretty boy that people gravitate too? Not as easy an answer as you think it is. A big part of the leader's job is to get people to like/support him. It's not like he's in charge of drafting every bill and personally preparing the budget. As long as he's got smart people in the background doing the dirty work he'll be fine. It doesn't matter if Harper is a supergenius if people can't stand him. Great reminder. I would also add the need for emotionally intelligent people to go along with their IQ.
  15. Me too. I'm still waiting for the expos to come back . . .
  16. Your blanket 'redneck' comments are laughable. Typical really. Someone disagrees Wih you they're redneck losers. You have some guts for an Internet tough guy. and you need an education in the real issues from the civil war. History is written by the winners. What does this mean exactly?
  17. What does this mean exactly? Powers that be want?
  18. Now that's funny.
  19. Most overused and often times misused word of 2015 imo. But back to the issue at hand. Imo, Glenn is still very appealing from a supporting cast point of view but no where near a starring role that he once was.
  20. I'm wondering if Popp believes bringing Glenn on board will help them get closer to that elite status he felt his team was lacking when he let Higgins go.
  21. Worked though. Would have worked better if the left guard blocked anyone. I honestly don't know how people expect any offensive coordinator to build even an average running game with so many overmatched OL. Capers wasn't getting off the line at all. He looked fine at tackle. Neufeld looks bad everywhere. Routinely getting bullied off the line by guys like Khreem Smith in the run game. Just brutal. How much leeway does Nichols have on calling an audible, not because he noticed something with the defensive formation but because he believes the call is, let's say, inappropriate?
  22. LH was handling kickoffs until that point. I wonder why ST had Castillo do it. It was a thing of beauty. Perfectly placed.
  23. One game lol. Granted a fantastic one game, but still...ONE GAME. May Mike Kelly's quote of a schizophrenic fan base live in infamy. Anyone remember Rob Pikula's game with us when Westwood got hurt? What happened after... Why take anything with a grain of salt lol. Jump in with both feet. Sergio for president/ceo/gm/hc/oc/dc and emporor! Like I'm not trying to be a rooster (the alternative was understandably censored) contrary to what most people may want to believe. If it so happens Castillo turns out to be our kicker for the next 5-7 years, perhaps longer, fantastic. That being said I'm not going to proclaim him to be a kicking savior off of one game. You can make a very, very long list of athletes, football or otherwise that have had one solid game, or one solid debut, and accomplished a whole lot of nothing afterwards. Just a general observation, he seems to have quite the routine that he goes through from the moment he steps on the field, to the moment the ball is kicked. Rather interesting I thought. That's because he's crazy. Most kickers are in some way. This may be a good sign :-) .
  24. I know MOS and others think Brohm gives us the best chance if Nichols goes down but why not give Davis (or anyone else for that matter) some game experience if Nichols can't go, knowing we are sitting at 4 and10 hanging by a thread, a very thin thin thread. In other words, put Brohm out of his misery, put some one on the roster that has, potentially, a future with us and let training camp for some start early. And yes I want to win the next four games, make the playoffs and win the Grey Cup, but remarkably for me, I'm looking at our existing situation realistically and practically for longer term benefits.
  25. Honestly, I think trying to portray Mulcair as warm and fuzzy was a mistake by the NDP strategists. I much prefer the straight-shooter that we saw in QP these past few years. He's at his best when he's talking down to Harper and he only exposed that side briefly during the second debate. Nothing against him personally but when Mulcair smiles it kind of gives me the creeps. That's the problem though, it's easy to look good when you're just attacking Harper, if you want to be PM though you can't just attack Harper. The man is an easy target. Mulcair is just a straight up opportunist and people see that. Rick Mercer always said Canadian voters aren't as dumb as politicians think and when you treat them like they are they don't like it. I think the NDP are learning that with their sunshine and rainbows campaign and it appears that the Conservatives are going to learn it too with their war on terror campaign. Allowing the green party to break threw up the middle for the win. :-)
