  1. Hey 14-4 (updated from last weeks 15-3) is still on the board. 🙂
  2. 'Toronto signed defenseman Chris Tanev to a six-year contract worth $27 million after acquiring his rights from Dallas'. (AP) CT is 34 who doesn't come across to me as a freak of nature type athlete like Jagr or Chelios were in terms of producing after the usual best before date of a professional NHL'r. I want CT's agent in my camp please and thank you.
  3. Jake Thomas lining up behind centre would be gold.
  4. Not saying our Organization is immune from this but I think Maciocia and Mass have misinterpreted what true meaningful leadership is.
  5. Just throw the Mother F'r in and say okay produce and no excuses if you don't, agree?
  6. And with that the Montreal Organization inches a bit closer to the Argos extreme suck level. They still have a long way to go to hit Argo level but I have pretty good confidence in Mass and Maciocia to help them along the way 🙂
  7. From four consecutive GC appearances to this. Much too rapid for my liking.
  8. I call them propeller heads but bean counters works as well.
  9. At some point if we struggle to right this ship of 0 fer sure hope we land a few who grade out to your liking.
  10. I've never read a post here that suggests this but I obviously haven't read all the posts.
  11. It's always the special teams guys to go first when a ship is sinking.
  12. I'm not suggesting that nor am I suggesting the approach should be loading up on FA's, I'm just suggesting that if the Jets regress (or status quo) this coming season (regular and/or post season) is it reasonable to suggest that the Winnipeg's GM is looked at a bit more intensively at his end of year review? I differ from you that I think it's a reasonable expectation to win the cup small market or not. I'm just a curious guy in trying to better understand in a results based business what's the threshold that has to be attained where Chevy's job is at risk? Yes they've graded out high in some regular season play but yes they've also graded out low in post season play. I'm not suggesting he be fired but regardless of being a GM in Winnipeg compared to more favorable destinations he has accountability for regular and post season play that doesn't just sit on everyone else and if it's not attained to desirable levels (which I'm trying to better understand what these levels are) then what happens?
  13. For the most part I like our GM but for the hardcore Chevy apologists, is it reasonable to suggest that if the Jets regress this coming season his end of year review is a little bit more serious?
  14. Columbus paying 5.5 per year x 5 for Monahan would support this premise. Sheeesh. In 2 years they'll being buying him out.
  15. No problem we just need about eight touchdowns from Demski.
  16. I'm confused by the reasons for McGroarty for Jiricek trade. Reason, both are unhappy with how they're being developed in their respective organizations so they want to go to another team that will put them on the NHL ice. So we won't start McGroarty to appease him but to appease Jiricek we will start him and the same goes for the Bluejackets start McGroarty but not Jiricek. Huh?
  17. Oh he doesn’t get a pass. It’s been brought up here before, not naming names. Good morning @SpeedFlex27
  18. Imo he doesn’t give off any authentic genuine vibe that he truly loves our game and his role is to serve and focus the attention on the game and the people who tirelessly are working hard behind the scenes to keep this league surviving and thriving. Instead he gives off the vibe that I’m in charge, the attention should be on me cuz I’m the leader I’m important. Gross.
  19. Sure but the real point here is what we are doing with our draft prospects and how many swings if any we are taking to minimize overbaking some of our draft prospects in the AHL to paraphrase @Mike
  20. Sure so take a swing with him and see what he's got and go from there.
  21. Yup, key word some. Bake some prospects in the AHL while swinging with others. This does not need to be an either or situation (i.e., make sure they are fully baked in the AHL or take a swing and see what they got at the NHL level). It can be a blend of both.
  22. I've always wanted to write this. Someone pee in your cornflakes? Cuz if they did I feel you brother.
  23. Actually I'd take that a step further. In you and the coaching staff reviewing game tape from the past three losses, can you break it down for us in what you're seeing from Thomas and others on the Dline that maybe some of us can't see?
