  1. I'm trying correlate this analogy to how he contributes on and off the football field and what I've come up with is this analogy (probably) fits way better with his off field contributions than it does to his on-field contributions. It's a tough gig being a professional head coach I get it but when he is on the field providing no push up the middle taking snaps away from others do these off field contributions cancel that out? Apparently MOS says yes, he's earned it.
  2. Technically professional trainers/medical professionals are trained in concussion tests/protocols and based on the results (even if an athlete is lying) can detect concussion severity/impact on athlete. I think its more the varying thresholds teams employ in holding back an athlete unfortunately. Great example would be the current NHL playoffs. How many players are/were playing concussed? Professional Sport is a business that can be ruthless on a players health.
  3. I don't know why you keep saying/writing this, no one is saying talent dictates everything. When it comes to a strong culture, everyone, from bottom up top down share a responsibility in building a strong culture with leadership leading the way. Anyone who knows anything about high performing organizations know this. Where we're getting into this debate is your use of the word balance. Finding that sweet spot is an art more than it is a science. You're right, none of us here have the intimate view in our football team so all of us, including you, are speculating on why players like JT is still an active player on this team. That's what makes these types of conversations engaging with different viewpoints offered up.
  4. You haven't heard numerous professional Athletes in many sports say when they're traded away or a teammate is traded away/cut or they are called out for their performance etc etc that they understand this is a business and its ruthless? I certainly have. Adam Grant for one. No where did I discount the importance of Glue Guys but Glue Guys need to perform as well. It's not one or the either, i.e., they're great in the lockerroom but not so much on the field. You can have both.
  5. I think it's more 'anything but the Bombers' hate. We've been to the show five years in a row. Let's make it six to exhaust them even more.
  6. JJ looks fantastic in Blue and Gold. Welcome. ps its a Grey Cup win or bust this year so time to get to work.
  7. That doesn't seem to make its way into the pro leagues for some.
  8. BC sucks. Nuff said.
  9. Wouldn’t this be a great opportunity for the Elks to run an actual 2qb system with Fajardo and Ford? I know its unheard of but would love to see a team actually attempt it. Get the offensive coordinator to think how that could look with the talent they have. Whats the harm in trying for a quarter to see if you can get any traction with it?
  10. When the chips are down, adversity hits thats when I’ll be interested to see if Rourke has grown into being a mature qb.
  11. Not sure exa Tre Ford throwing into three defenders versus 1 receiver. Yikes.
  12. Heads up play by ol guy just to get in front of defender and not pop in and risk a penalty on Tre Ford’s scramble.
  13. I’m going to try this reply at work.
  14. The CFL has some work to do.
  15. That’s pretty cool.
  16. You may be right but I hope you’re wrong. BD is just a guy who is so easy to cheer for. I just hope he ends up where he best contributes.
  17. yup and when the food came out at midnight that usually entailed crackers, meet, cheese, pickles etc that did wonders on everyone’s breath and sharing of gas.
  18. Or he’ll learn quickly on the job and progress into a really good CFL HC. Thats my hope for him.
  19. I'll take Argos suck for 200 Alex. Oh and thanks for the reminder Debbie. 🙂
  20. I'm just telling you what sport executives, professional athletes say on a day to day basis, sport is business.
  21. Let's see if Arbuckle has any signs of a Grey Cup hangover. Let's see if this guy is actually for real.
  22. And that's what I think would exactly happen to me if our paths somehow crossed at a gym knowing how I can sometimes test people's sense of ha ha in very spontaneous ways. 🙂
  23. I get what you're saying but we are told ad nauseum that professional sport is business and in the business world the literature, the major thought leaders stress to stop running your organizations like you're family with one another because that's not how high performing organizations effectively run.
