  1. Found this on another message board...scary stuff: http://college-football.si.com/2014/03/13/allen-high-school-eagle-stadium-cracks-closed/ Not only is Allen High School?s $60 million Eagle Stadium closed indefinitely, but now the less-than-two-year-old, 18,000-seat stadium may need at least a partial demolition and rebuild. Eagle Stadium, built in Allen, Texas just over 30 miles north of Dallas, was closed last month after a forensic investigation from Nelson Forensics discovered cracks in the concrete structure, ranging anywhere from a quarter-inch to three-quarters of an inch wide. More information released from that same report via a public records request by The Dallas Morning News says that not only was the immediate closure called for, but there remains a real possibility that poor concrete and steel work have combined to make the stadium unsuitable. And potentially the only retrofit possible, at least for portions of the largely concrete structure, will require sections of the 18-month-old structure to be ripped out and built new. Again.
  2. Kevin Prempeh JBR just did a typo. The spelling in the article is the same.
  3. Bannon always does the stadium tours. Just sayin'...
  4. I wonder if Miller is trying to find out who Friesen's source within the Bombers org is? Miller is big on no leaks. I'd assume if they discover the source that person would be fired.
  5. Desjardins must be sh*tting his pants right now.
  6. One million dollars!
  7. The Bombers should hire you as a scout. You seem to have a good methodology for identifying talent.
  8. McAdoo and Neufeld were with the Bombers last season.
  9. He does seem to be losing his edge.
  10. Agreed. As a backup, he's an upgrade over Elliot, Pierce and DeMarco.
  11. That was my main concern too. Way too confusing.
  12. Truth is besides the Burris contract, we really have no idea what Ottawa is paying their FAs. It's all speculation.
  13. Apparently Ottawa is extremely happy with the 14,000 season tickets sold.
  14. See I have a hard time getting so jonesed up of a switch in what system a GM uses to grade players. Here's a relevant example from my job, I use a specific program to do my work in, the guy I am reporting to now though has forced me to switch to a new system because in his mind it's far superior and makes more sense for everyone. It's not, it makes more sense to him, to me it's just a giant pain in the ass when I can get a better picture in the program I was using before. The point? Different people see things differently, doesn't make one way better or worse than the other just that for different people different approaches work. Of all the things wrong with the Bombers the last couple years finding prospects from the states was absolutely not one of the problems. Finding QBs was a problem under the Mack regime. That's where the Bombers are hoping McManus pays off.
  15. Oops. Should I delete my posts on Bob Irving? I didn't think it was anything inappropriate.
  16. A bit of both. Bob Irving is close to retirement and he disappears in the winter months (partial retirement already) so it wouldn't surprise me. He is the sports director though, so I'm sure he has say in how long the post game show is. Knowing Bomber fans they'd call in till 4am after a game to voice their opinion.
  17. Mack must have been making $300k or more. I heard it was around $250k and I know Walters shaved $100k off the GM salary, but that's a lot of additional resources for what 2 men were previously making. Wonder what Ken Moll was making?
  18. Bob Irving, the sports director for CJOB, probably wants to get to bed before midnight, so that's likely why the Bomber post game shows end early.
  19. And I remind myself of Peyton Manning but with less talent and less money.
  20. The only reason Buchko has success at CJOB is by increasing the number of commercials. Short term it helped to increase sales figures. Long term we shall see. CJOB's ratings have been declining over the past few years.
  21. Does he even lift bro Sort of, but not at this level: http://youtu.be/OloLS5kTrVs.
  22. I was at Shapes on Pembina a few weeks ago and Buchko was there working out.
  23. @CFL: THIS JUST IN: The @REDBLACKS have signed LB Anton McKenzie. Details to come. #CFL
  24. It seemed odd to me that O'Shea would come out with the three NI OL comment. Walters is still giving off the impression Neufeld will start at tackle. Could be a number of things: - O'Shea is looking to motivate some guys - You're assuming some guys as starters. Neufeld could start at guard, Morley might be 6th OL or could start at centre. - O'Shea isn't an offensive guy so might not have a full grasp of our OL yet. He might just think we had the worst OL last year so are in no position to start 4 NIs. Might be delegating those details to Bellefeuille.
