Chris Matthews is off to the NFL. The Winnipeg Blue Bombers receiver, who was the CFL’s rookie of the year in 2012, will make a decision on which team he will join this afternoon. Easy answer would be because no one signed him. That must mean he's not very good then! In that case the Bombers must be trying to sign him to a multi year contract! lol

That is correct. Robertson says his recovery is going well and he expects to be in Bomber training camp this year.

All I'm saying is there's a few different scenarios and no guarantee we start 4 NI on the OL, especially with our new shiny QB needing all the protection possible. With the moves Walters has been making, I could see 2 NI DBs starting.

What? Those are the 2 DB spots. Wide side DB and safety. If we don't start 4 NI OLs we will need to start either 2 NI DBs or a NI on the DL. Can't see a scenario where we start 3 NI WRs this year.

Walters keeps pimping Bucknor whenever he speaks to the media. And it's a virtual lock we start Newman or Cauchy at safety.

Cauchy for Glenn? I'd do that trade. I'll also trade you this nice bridge we have in Kelowna for your house. Glenn's trade value went way down after the recent comments he made. Most figure the REDBLACKS will end up releasing him. If I'm Desjardins, I'd rather have Cauchy than nothing. And remember Cauchy is a NI.

Looking at our roster and the REDBLACK's roster, I'm wondeirng if this is a trade they would consider: We get Kevin Glenn REDBLACKS get Cauchy Muamba and/or Terrence Edwards.

its safe to say that his price gonna go up because of the interest coming from different club. Have other CFL clubs expressed an interest in Matthews? I haven't heard any team specific reports on that...

Walters said we've already made him an offer, but he is exploring his NFL options first. My guess is it would take somewhere in the $120k per season range to sign Matthews. He had a great rookie year, but his value took a hit last season.

My comment about taking 6 o-lineman in one draft was a joke. It was more of a statement about the current state of our OL. I guess it wasn't clear that it was a joke...

I sure hope so. If there's 6 rounds in the draft, we should be taking 6 OL in my opinion.

Tardif is expected to get NFL interest. Too risky. We need a guy who will stay. Plus we really need a centre. Based on Walters comments, we will draft Lavertu or Goossen.

Yeah he was their OC from mid-December to mid-January. I'm not going to count that as any type of relevant experience. I thought it was during their TC. Either way, I won't disagree with you there.

Jonathan Himebauch technically has one month as the Argos OC, before he left for NCAA.

Bob Wylie or Jonathan Himebauch would both be great additions as OL coach. Jonathan Himebauch also has experience as a CFL offensive coordinator, so could take over that role from Bellefeuille at some point. If it's down to Wylie or Himebauch for the OL coach, I am feeling very comfortable. Asides from Etcheverry, we seem to be putting together a very solid coaching staff.

At this weeks free agency presser, Kyle Walters basically confirmed that we will be taking a centre with our 2nd overall pick in this years CFL draft. The two top rated centre's are Pierre Lavertu and Matthias Goossen. Who do you think the Bombers should take? Are there any Canadian College football guru's who can provide analysis/scouting reports on each? Which of these OL's is more CFL ready?

Why do you say that? Penton's article says the Bombers are interested. Media was saying yesterday that Walters was done signing free agents. That's not what Walters said at his presser yesterday.
