And he's 54 years old. Didn't know that.

I wonder if the Jets will ever return to Winnipeg?

Wade Miller brought in Marcel as a consultant when Burke was HC. O'Shea decided to keep him.

@CaretakerBob: @ArashMadani @sportscage @CFL_News For the record: @Ticats are kinda offended rumor isn't the @sskroughriders going after our GM/HC ;-)

Have you guys heard about this thing called an iPhone? It's like a phone that you can use for the internet too. I doubt it'll catch on though...

Milt Stegall is closing in on the TD record guys...I think he might just break it.
-
Did you guys hear the rumor we might be trading Jade Etienne for Drew Willy from the Riders?
-
x2 Pedersen is hands down the worst writer affiliated with a CFL team. He basically writes a fanboy blog. If (by some tiny chance) this turns out to be true, he'll trumpet how he broke the story. If it's false, then it'll be, "C'mon guys, I said it was just a rumor." Pederson is on the Riders payroll. I'm not joking either.

No chance Matt Nichols is a starting CFL QB next year. Not saying its a slam dunk or anything, but I disagree with you. I'd say there's definitely a real chance. Willy, BLM, Collaros, Ray, Cato, Crompton, Reilly, and Harris are 8 QB's who are unquestionably better than Nichols - then there's other guys like Lulay, Durant, Glenn, Franklin, Brett Smith, Drew Tate and possibly Burris hanging around. That's 15 Quarterbacks I'd take over Nichols - don't see how he gets a starting job even if guys like Durant can't recover and Burris calls it quits.I disagree on Cato and Crompton being better. No one knows what Ray will do next year. And you're correct in that I was thinking Burris and Lulay might not play next year.My scenario also involves Nichols playing well as a Bomber to finish the season.

Mack drafted Muamba. Walters wanted OL Scott Mitchell instead at the same pick. -
I'm hearing rumors the Bombers might fire their ST coordinator, Pat Tracy.

Nichols wants to start. Depending on what happens in Montreal, BC, Ottawa, and maybe even Sask, I could see each of those teams showing interest in Nichols.
-
Nichols is a free agent after this season.

@TroyWestwood: Real shame re Marve and that knee. Gotta figure a real good chance not only season but also pro career is done.
-
Agreed.

Could also be Hufnagel using this as leverage in his contract negotiations. Hufnagel makes around $600k per season right now as HC and GM. Maybe the Stamps owner wants to reduce that if he's only doing GM duties next year. The threat of going to Sask increases his leverage in those negotiations.

Open question for MBBers - direction of the franchise

He's been there for probably 10 years so probably never Wrong - he's been on the BoD since 2011. This is his second time on the BoD. And I believe there's a 7 year limit. -

Just thinking the same thing... if this rumour turns out to come true I'm gonna smash my head against a wall!!!It could just be Hufnagel using the Riders as leverage in his own contract negotiations. -
I'd like to believe that and I hope you're right, but Greaves has been on the trading block since training camp.

College roommates? They must have had some crazy times together...drunken orgy's, beer drinking contests etc. -
Richard Harris was quite likely the best coach this team has had since Dave Ritchie so I don't know what the point is. My point simply was that Brown was a guy who I think struggled to self motivate and he needed some kind of outside motivation whether it was the disrespect Ritchie hyped up in 2001 or whatever it was. Browns big flaw is assuming every player should be like him and need that outside motivation rather than having it come from somewhere else. And one of O'Shea's major flaws is assuming that all players are self-motivated and self-disciplined, just like he was. How do we know he's like that? We don't know what he says behind closed doors. He's said that's his philosophy in dealing with players.

@garrettbillan1: When I hear O'Shea talk about offense, he's reacting to what opposing D does. Shouldn't a dominant offense impose itself? #notplayingtowin @SteveMorley62: @garrettbillan1 totally agree Garrett! @garrettbillan1: @SteveMorley62 offensive philosophy is to play scared. @SteveMorley62: @garrettbillan1 yup, all the meetings were planning to pick up opposing teams blitzes.. Lot of memorization. @garrettbillan1: @SteveMorley62 weird. Is that different from other OC's you've played under? @SteveMorley62: @garrettbillan1 every team is different. I agree though, make the defense adjust to us..

Then why did this GM sign Walker just a week ago?

Firing him midseason is a trap. Then you get a situation like when Crowton was let go and Bellefeuille was brought in. Hard to make changes wholesale midseason so it's not really improving anything, but hey the guy works well with the rest of the staff might as well just keep him. If the offence is going to be ****** the rest of this season regardless why not wait until the offseason to make the change and then you can go out and find the best candidate and not have the temptation to just go with the easy status quo hire. Except that MB has proven he can't win with our current players. And his playcalling is terrible. Why reward that kind of work? Give something else a try, even if for shits and giggles.Never wanted him here in the first place. I never wanted him here in the first place either, but you can't change an offence completely with only 8 games remaining. We're stuck with his crap all year like it or not, might as well wait until the offseason. But then again I'm not the kind of person who needs a public execution to placate me. The offense has shown flashes this season and that tells me that the offense is t necessarily the major problem, but rather the conservative play calling and lack of adjustments. A few tweaks and maybe Bellefeuille's offense could work. I'll never understand why Bellefeuille goes away from a certain plays after they worked. It's like he really out thinks himself or something during games.
