  1. This is precisely why Danny McManus was hired...to recruit QBs.
  2. Austin tried twice to extend his contract and Burris turned him down. ....And now back to the Austin Has No Loyalty Game. Source? Burris said he hadn't heard a peep from Austin all offseason about a contract extension.
  3. Just because a player is on the downturn of their career, doesn't mean they don't have value. We still need leaders and players who will instill confidence in the group.
  4. I hope the timing of his release has nothing to do with the Als clearing cap space to make Burris a significant offer.
  5. He's only 32 years old. I'd expect he'll keep playing.
  6. @byronparker28: Thank you to all of the fans of Montreal. Just found out that I am now a FREE AGENT. Thank u also to Jim Popp and all the coaches. #CFL
  7. @FarhanLaljiTSN: Confirmed - the #Bombers have made a substantial multi-year offer to Henry Burris. #CFL
  8. Let's not overreact. I fully expect Burris to sign with the Bombers.
  9. Great. Six wins and wasting all those meaningful first team practice and game reps wasted on a 39 year old. I'd rather keep Hall as the starter. The way I see it is Burris adds 3 wins, and the loss of Burke and his stupid decisions adds another 3 wins. That gives us 9 wins, which I think is realistic with Burris at QB.
  10. But, if like Mike says, Burris likes "hitting on younger women" Montreal is the place to be.
  11. Because we're from Winnipeg...we're cheap!
  12. Winnipeg offered more money than Hamilton.
  13. We should be very excited we will be getting one of the best QBs in the CFL. The Bombers are now in the playoff conversation, assuming Burris signs.
  14. Reading the Ticats forums...lots of Ticat fans are upset that they just released Burris for an unproven rookie.
  15. @garylawless: League source says Ti-cats release Burris. Could happen today #cfl #bombers
  16. The thinking in the media this morning is that Collaros has a clearer path to a starting job with the Bombers, because Hamilton has good QB depth.
  17. This is a very good trade by Walters. Slowly increasing our NI depth, with a guy who can potentially start. Aprile has been stringing us along for a few years it seems...good riddance as far as I'm concerned. We got quality for basically nothing. Well done Walters.
  18. If Willy is smart he'd go to the team with the next shot at starting. If Winnipeg gets Burris, we are the next clear path to a starting job, with Burris likely to retire in 1-2 seasons. I don't see a clearer path to a starting job in the CFL.
  19. Guess we'll find out if the CFL fines the Als and take away their 1st round pick. They have way too many veterans making big dough to fit that in while staying under the SMS limit. Remember Calvillo was on the 9 game IR so his salary during those 9 games doesn't count against the cap.
  20. I'm glad we're at least players in free agency. If Mack were still GM he'd likely be at his all inclusive resort in Mexico right now with no clue what is going on with Collaros.
  21. I'd definitely trade a low pick for him then. He'd be a good leader and help with the culture change. Let Jovon walk.
  22. Is Banks a free agent on Feb 15?
  23. Agreed. Make it happen Walters. Let Jovon walk.
  24. How would you compare Hamilton's 2013 OL to the Bombers 2013 OL?
  25. Yep having O'Shea as Bomber HC makes me feel like we have a real shot at Collaros.
