Problem with Burris is he will be 39 next season. Most we get is 2 seasons out of him. But he'd definitely be a short term fix and likely lead us into the playoffs.

what's being said in the post game?They said this was Hall's best game as a Bomber. Well, I have to agree that this was Hall's best game to date. And on top of that, we won. However, this is not not going to save Burke's job, nor will it stop the culling of the herd at the end of the season or even halt the search for a legitmate starting quarterback. This edition is still woefully short of talent in many areas. Agreed. At most, today gives me hope that maybe Hall could be our backup QB next season.

I'm not sure a centre straight out of CIS will be an immediate upgrade on our O-line (in a year or two, possibly, Brent Jones not withstanding). Neufeld will help our ratio, but will he necessarily be better than Jones, or even Boatman? Pencer has not managed to win a starting position yet. I think Greaves has been average, but is still young and could improve. I would hope we our able to upgrade our O-line in free agency, since I'm not convinced the group you envision will be that much better than our current group, which I think is one of the 2 or 3 worst in the league. Agreed, and that's why I have Sorensen/Parenteau/Morley in at Centre if Lavertu isn't ready.

First round I protect: Neufeld, Greaves, Pencer, Swiston, Watson. Maybe Henoc as a gesture, even though he's a FA. Ottawa has said they will not select FAs in the expansion draft so no need to protect them. Sorensen, Parenteau, Morley, Etienne, Kolhert, Foster are all FAs. January is one of the imports I protect.

We may lose one of Sorensen, Parenteau or Morley, but I project the rest returning.

I see the OL looking like this in 2014, starting 4 NI: Left tackle: Glen January Left guard: Chris Greaves Centre: Pierre Lavertu Right guard: Tyson Pencer Right tackle: Patrick Neufeld Reserves: Marc Parenteau, Paul Swiston, Steve Morley/Justin Sorensen, Jarvis Jones. You'll notice I have us drafting Lavertu with our first round pick as our starting Centre. If he isn't ready to start, Parenteau, Morley or Sorensen can fill in until he is ready. Your thoughts?

Collaros has played well enough to make this at least something for the Argos to consider; 10-12 years of Collaros vs 3-4 more years of Ray could be tempting. But I just can't see the Argos protecting Collaros over Ray.

Thanks Fred. That's good to hear. Sounds like Neufeld can be a middle of the pack CFL starting tackle. As a Canadian, that we got for a 2nd round draft pick, that's huge. I suppose this now relegates Pencer to backup tackle or guard? Or perhaps the 3 of Neufeld, Swiston, Pencer fill 2 spots (tackle & guard); always good to have competition. All of a sudden it seems like we have a solid, young up and coming group of Canadian OL. I keep hearing from Riders fans that they expect Neufeld to return to the Riders once he becomes a free agent in 2 years, because he's from Sask. I'd hope the Bombers would lock him up before he hits free agency.

So is Neufeld expected to be better than Swiston?
