"Friends" is a relative term. If two people know each other, that doesn't automatically make them friends. And if it does, you'd be hard-pressed to find many working relationships in the CFL that didn't start that way, with someone hiring someone else that they are familiar with. O'Shea was a senior at Guelph when Walters came in as a rookie, and they were on opposite sides of the ball (Walters was an RB at the time). They played a grand total of one season together in Hamilton. Exactly. And when O'Shea was hired, he and Walters said after that the only times they got together was at football conferences. Someone on this forum posted earlier that O'Shea and Walters were roommates in college.

That's a pretty good observation. It's like he's the leader, but also one of the boys. He's struggling with no longer being a teammate and with being the boss. His job isn't to be friends with players or to be loyal. His job is to win games.

I know I am but when analyzing MOS's demeanor is the most interesting thing there is to do, what does that say ... a new QB in town and I can't get excited ... yawnI think his demeanor has more to do with idiot "questions" from guys like Lawless. If I had to deal with his long-winded lead-ups to a yes/no question everyday I wouldn't be so engaging either.I've watched every MOS presser. That was a pretty standard one.I've watched quite a few and it seemed pretty ordinary to me but Lawless' opening "questions"/comments we're beyond horrible.If its today's presser, pretty sure that's Paul Friesen.

As a head coach I want someone who's a strong leader. I think O'Shea is a decent leader, but you're right in that I'd like to see more intensity/fire from him at times.

I'd never in a million years suggest Nichols is better than Willy. But I think Nichols might be a little better fit for Bellefeuille's offense. Nichols seems to have a quicker release, is more mobile than Willy and seems to move the pocket more than Willy (although the pocket movelent could be a product of the offense and not Nichols).

And we have an average QB now in Matt Nichols. I'm pretty excited for the second half of the season now, especially with the D and special teams starting to come around and look strong.
