I still believe if we can get anything close to slightly below average QB play, the D and special teams could win us a few games, enough to hang around until Willy returns. I’m not ready to give up on the season yet, especially with 4 games left against Sask/Ottawa and one against BC and Montreal. Those are all winnable games.

if the back is experienced but not good enough is it worth it? I'd rather try a rookie out. That's how we got Marshall. If you keep using retreads you'll never find any good rookies. At this time of year especially you should be bringing in rookies for a look see unless you're planning on going deep in the playoffs and want that veteran insurance policy. I truly believe Walters and O'Shea are still pushing for a Grey Cup run this season.

Question is will they be able to afford Wild on the open market. It may take a little chop chop of vet salaries to make it happen. Willy's missing at least 1/3 of the season with that not counting against the cap. That's well over $100,000 right there. That's more than enough for Wild, that's $200,000 prorated if he signed this week. Willy got a big chunk of this years salary in the form of a signing bonus. That counts against the cap either way.
