Grey Cup & Banjo Bowl Temporary Stands
gbill2004 replied to AtlanticRiderFan's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
What is it with the Grey Cup sales the last couple years?! BC struggled to sell tickets last year (it wasn't until right before the game that they actually got to 50K) and now this one is half full. I remember when the Grey Cup sold almost right away upon beginning of sales to the general public. Strange. 50 inch HDTV's are a factor as well. -

If the Bombers can win a few games in a row and create some excitement, sales will increase. -

I'm pretty sure there were way more people and factors involved into the pricing of these tickets than Wade sitting in his office with a pen and paper. And you do mean potential revenue lost, right? I'm sure the NHL thing cannot be laid on any single entity alone. The timing schedule alone was a big factor. But you can blame Miller if you want. It's more fun to blame Wade. On a fan message board too, right? Uh yea, that's what this so yea. Not sure what point you're trying to make here. -

WINNIPEG -- The Winnipeg Football Club today announced that Investors Group Field is already 70% sold out for the 103rd Grey Cup presented by Shaw, with sales sitting at 25,576 tickets after being made available to the general public for two months. In addition, premium seating and suites are completely sold out. “We are encouraged by the ticket count to date and look forward to selling out the rest to our great Blue Bomber and CFL fans in the months to come,” said WFC President and CEO, Wade Miller. “I am especially grateful for the strong and ongoing support of our season ticket members who have already made their purchases.” After CFL Commissioner Jeffrey L. Orridge recently toured Investors Group Field with members of the Blue Bombers organization, a decision was made to locate the pre-game and halftime shows in the north end of the stadium. This will ensure fans in the stadium have the very best experience, including the opportunity to fully enjoy not only the CFL’s championship game but the world class entertainment that accompanies the game. As a result of this new design, temporary seats will only be in the south end zone. “Investors Group Field is a best-in-class facility and we wanted to ensure that everyone who buys a ticket to the first-ever Grey Cup there has the best possible fan experience,” Orridge said today. Installing temporary seats only in the south end of the stadium will up the capacity to 36,634 for the 103rd Grey Cup presented by Shaw. The WFC has begun its second phase of selling with a focus on the Manitoba business community following a very successful campaign for Grey Cup Festival event tickets. “We’d also like to remind fans that the WFC has a payment plan available for purchasing individual Grey Cup tickets,” said Miller. “The ticket price would be divided equally in each of the three months starting September 15, 2015, with no additional service or interest charges for fans wishing to choose this easy pay option.” As the CFL approaches the mid-season, Miller said fans are starting to see some great football games as every team makes their run towards the 103rd Grey Cup presented by Shaw November 29th in Winnipeg. -

Wade's genius pricing structure has predictably backfired. Losing 3,000 seats x $150 per ticket is $450,000 in lost revenue. -
Thsi is essentially the same as saying there's 9 teams fighting for 6 playoff spots... Not really. Ticats, Argos, Stamps and Eskies are all a lock in my opinion.

Bombers interested in Jasper Simmons, UPDATE: Signed to PR
gbill2004 replied to gbill2004's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
That's my worry too. Let's just hope Wild will make the Steelers roster even on PR. Btw, Brian Peters is a long shot to make the Vikings. Im not sure about Jalil Carter. Peters played for Ritchie Hall's D. Carter played for Mike O'shea's ST. Any of those 3 is a welcome addition. I've read conflicting reports on our cap situation this year, but the most recent had us in the range of $600k in cap space remaining. Previous had us $100k over though, so not sure how accurate those reports really are. -

I'd love to see Bowman in Blue and Gold this season. With the addition of Simmons and Bowman, we'd be winning games on our D. No need to score many points. -
So no there's 5 teams competing for 2 playoff spots: Riders BC Bombers Ottawa Montreal

Kudos to his agent for being savvy enough to use social media to get his client what he wants. You'll no doubt be seeing more of these types of tactics in the future.Glad Simmons is in our line-up for sure. How're you going to like it when it's one of our players? Kudos??Isn't that pretty much what Grigsby did last year? -

My guess is there's 2 contracts in Walters drawer. The PR one and the regular one that'll come into effect next week. Knowing O'Shea, he'll want to talk to the player who is coming off the roster/going on the IR in person before Simmons is officially added. -
