  1. I hear CJOB is streaming the game .... any idea how to find that stream?
  2. mos on Friday night https://www.bluebombers.com/2018/05/30/coach-oshea-training-camp-day-11/
  3. That's what I was hoping for ..... we can now smash Edmonton, if and only if, any of our backup QB's can play. I expect Ross will lead some drives .... I am expecting next to nothing from Steveler .... I don't know if Bennett is healthy enough to dress (he will get his shot next Friday I hope) ... I wish Nichols would play all of the first half to get his timing down and his "feel" back. As far as rookies vs rookies I think most of our guys on tryout are good enough to be starters in this league so outside of QB I expect us to dominate their rookies Bombers should blow out Edmonton even if they do give up a couple of long plays.
  4. Edmonton crushes Regina 35-12 ... with Collaros and Bridge not on the field along with the majority of their starters on defence ..... I hope Edmonton leaves a lot of veterans at home when they travel here Friday ... they dressed 85 players yesterday ... I don't know how many the Bombers will dress for their home game ...hopefully we can find a 2nd string QB Friday night ourselves... we may have seen Zach Kline move into the #3 QB spot but he will have to confirm that this Friday night .... we might see Nichols staying in Winnipeg for our away game in Vancouver (only Bomber preseason game televised) June 8th Calgary will have no preseason games televised while Hamilton and Montreal each get two because the last one will be RDS only (in French) We host Edmonton here Thursday June 24th to kickoff the regular season ... we can't take the warm up game lightly .... our rookies have to beat their rookies !!! First "must win" game of the season this Friday ... YES
  5. For all the Lankford haters MOS has been singing his praises on multiple occasions .... perhaps he has learned a thing or two ... that being said he has intense competition at both returner and wideout ... I hope the preseason will show who will really stand out for us
  6. New comer Chandler Fenner has some perspective and objectivity, look how he sees his defensive coordinator and other coaches: "With all these pieces and the coaches we have, I have very high expectations.” Maybe Ritchie Hall is finally in his element ... so maybe we can back off in giving him the goat horns the first time something goes wrong ... we are not going 18 and 0.
  7. I have got to admire the non stop nature of bringing in real talent to compete throughout camp... this is quite than the past IMHO .... I am not sure what has changed with our scouting .... we will not have to fly injury replacements much with this group hanging around ... unfortunately some of this talent pool in going to end up in Montreal, Regina and elsewhere
  8. Milt setsd up a friendly banter and controversy .... his forecasts are good observations but often don't fulfill those observations .... so his sooth saying is at an average outcome... Milt keeps it very interesting ... and he has a healthy self image
  9. This will be Edmonton's 2nd game amd on the road so the usual is to leave many of their veterans at home .... we should be able to pound them ... I expect Nichols plays only the first quarter or third of the game: then Ross, then Steveler and possibly Bennett too. I am hoping our rookies play as well as our veterans. Truly tryouts this year
  10. This is the defence Hall has been trying to create since he got here: “If you look at history over the past couple of years this defence has created the most turnovers,” said Bighill. “From that standpoint, I don’t want to go back on that. I want to be a defence that prides itself on takeaways and we continue doing that. In general, it’s an athletic, physical defence. You’ve got DBs who like to come up and challenge people and the front six-seven are playing pretty physical up front. If you control the line of scrimmage, it’s what you want. At the end of the day if you are a physical football team that plays fast, physical and smart you’re going to win a lot of games.”
  11. First I want to say that I can't remember so much talent in training camp .... It is like going to to the candy store: you can't have all you see no matter how hard you lick your lips The magic will be finding a way to hide them on our roster, pr and lists ... and keeping them from going away mad ... we will be stocking the league if we keep this up ... What I don't want is one or more of our late cuts getting picked up by Jones in Regina (or some other western franchise) and turning into an allstar Second it looks like we have stockpiled the players Coach Ritchie needs to play his gambling style of defense .... stripping the ball and going after picks is going to be emphasized over making a solid tackle .... Hall wants the D feeding the O the ball: that is who he is and I think he will have the players and the speed required to succeed at such gambling (Heath who?) The newcomer coaches on D may contribute more than we know .... I am smelling real talent in the coaching ranks .... I am betting that everybody on D is going to know their role and not be guessing what (or where) they should be doing .... that is good coaching Meanwhile MOS seems to be putting together something cohesive and I am not used to that I am so excited for this 2018 edition of our beloved club .... I can almost taste the Grey Cup
  12. Well one thing that seems for sure better is the way Ed Tait is getting out daily reports on training camp ... I like the layout, style and content ... snippets of MOS and other players are great
  13. There seems to be a major difference in our scouting .... is it just our scouts maturing and connecting more ... or is it the newbies bringing old connections to the forefront?
  14. Momentum counts for a lot ... yes we have to showcase the talent but we also have to win with that talent .... this is the best group of rookies I can remember but they have to show us they can win if they want to make the club ... and they need to do that immediately ... we need to show we are much improved from last year at both rookie and lockedin positions
  15. Time to move on .... I hope the mods close this thread
  16. Don't tell me preseason games don't matter. I want us to pound these guys. We need to send a message to ourselves and everyone else. This game sets the tone for everything that is going to follow ... and it is better to knock off Edmonton than anybody else!!! I hope they bring lots of rookies.
  17. The season has begun: Yipee!!!!
  18. I will second that
  19. cancer is always a surprise and you don't lighty cut a $300k player
  20. The one good thing coming out of this is Durant will not be a negative influence or slow growing cancer in the locker room this year .... lucky good riddance
  21. I am betting we go with a tried and true LB picked from last year's starting LB's. Any new comer is going to have to wait his turn to play MLB no matter how talented he may show, It seems this is the way our coaching staff is.
  22. Who do you favor at 3rd string"?
  23. It's getting closer.... league wide: MAY 16TH – ROOKIE CAMPS OPEN MAY 20TH – TRAINING CAMPS OPEN Yipee !!!
  24. Heath being gone may have a more positive impact than we can expect ... he was a hotdog that disrupted "team" .... his freelancing disrupted harmony and destroyed confidence in "system" .... I expect we are going to have far less secondary breakdowns giving up easy TDs
  25. With Lefevour gone our new 3rd string QB will have to be able to run the short yardage offense ... I don't see you know who running it ... he won't take the pounding required
