The first Preseason game is May 31 .... the regular season starts June 14 ... everything will start to move very quickly now .... I am not used to the CFL in May but you know what? I am very glad for it Thank you Mr Ambroise but please be advised I still want a November Grey Cup ... mid November is Ok but no sooner Stanley Cup and Grey Cup in the same year ... it would probably kill me !

So here we are a year later and what has changed .... does our team just need aging like a bottle of wine ... or are we going way beyond standing pat .... I am seeing a couple of defensive changes ... MLB and DE (sort of) and upgrading two or three positions at DB/REC ... lost two key pieces in Bond & Westerman, got one back in Bowman So what will take us over the top? 1) Scouting, 2) Coaching, 3) Maturing, 4) Luck 5) Something else

Coach and management still here and looking promising

I used to search the Sun and the Press for tidbits of Bomber News ... for a while there was a place on this site that would reference football posts in the press ... now I find very little from whatever might be written (during the season or currently) except for one or twp websites that focus on the CFL ... is it because we don't care or is it something else like everyone just uses twitter?

Bombers & Jets win it all in same year ... that would be a freak of nature ... sort of like putting all your free cash flow into lottery tickets guareenting poverty forever Predictions and forecasts are useful if it can help govern good actions .... otherwise they are no more than narcissistic ego ... annoying and antisocial.... but yeah the Bombers are going to win the Grey Cup this year

I believe Heath being gone is going to help a lot more than hurt. He was a risk taker and that cost us more than we know. We had so many defensive breakdowns in the secondary that cost us large ... I expect those breakdowns to be more or less eliminated with different popsitional coaching and more stick to your own knitting DB's

I am guessing that the change in defensive positional coaches is going to make a bigger difference than we expect this year

What makes you think the Riders will pull ahead of the Eskimos? I keep underestimating Edmonton probably because they have the best QB in the league .... but how long will Reilly's body hold up?

Every team had salary cap decisions ... we had to let Bond and Westerman go .... Jake Thomas won't be around but Demski will ... we are all cheering Hurl on in Regina now and we have this ex Rider QB US recruits have their usual expectations with hopefully a couple nice surprises forthcoming ... and we will get a couple of developmental players in the draft So my question is what has changed for us really especially relative to Calgary & Edmonton We lost two very good linemen and we have made some coaching adjustments ... did Calgary & Edmonton lose more? Do we have better depth? Why would we be better, really? Do we have more reason to be optimistic about our defense? How big a role is coaching going to play? Are we anywhere close to matching Calgary's organizational skills? Has Edmonton suddenly become Swiss Cheese in the off season? Has the whole team gained a critical maturity and potential "swagger"?

At league meetings next week I expect the rules committee will focus on "challenges" and salary cap violations I wonder what Ambrosie has up his sleeve .... he seems very innovative and proactive ... I bet he has been sitting on several ideas for years
