Anybody missing at practice today?
-
Bombers start practicing Wednesday morning I presume ..... I wonder if there are any "gone fishing" injuries since the victory beyond Harris' stinger
-
Good as the Rider D has been lately there has to be a few weaknesses to exploit .... how about starting with Jovon Johnson?
-
Chris Jones, at least for the moment, is no longer the object of ridicule .... there is evidence his rebuilding program is working and they have the makings of a contender ... he is still using bailing wire, binder twine and duct tape to keep the team together but they have momentum and spirit ... If as and when Jones buys himself a real QB all that money they are paying him could be said to be worthwhile .... meanwhile we will be having something opposite a picnic on Labour Day

Regina has momentum (54-31/Edmonton, 41-8/BC) and we have SQUEAKERS. It's time to get over our ridicule for Chris Jones. He has gutted the team, rebuilt it and is starting to get results with both the good and bad talent he has. Regina is now a real contender; they are playing as well as anybody has this season. Racking up 35 points on turnovers last night was no accident. It might even be a CFL record We had better take the Rough Riders seriously. Bravado won't help us win. We are going to have to play better than we ever have this season and not rely on winning in some strange way as we have so repeatedly all season. What will it take? Opening up the passing game again. Regina doesn't blitz nearly as much as Montréal but they do have a mean pass rush. So we need the short game but without downfield passing their defensive backs are just going to creep up and shut down the dink and dunk. I am not as sure that Flanders is better than the defensive rotation that could include poop Johnson who we obviously missed last game. We need his pressure up the middle and his run stopping abilities. We didn't really use Harris as a decoy for Flanders anyway so I like the trade-off.. Home field advantage is always been huge for the LDC ... The odds are actually in favour of the Riders for this coming game. So it's going to take more than trick plays though these surprises we have been delivering does help us. We are going to have to win on good analysis good scheming and plain old talent. A great deal is going to depend on leadership from Nichols and Leggett. We are at the crossroads and Regina will be a bigger test than Edmonton 2 weeks ago. We need more than "good luck to us".

"Harris, Jeffcoat and Alexander all came back to play last night after being knicked up..." What is MOS adding to their Wheaties?

isnt rod black from wpg?

Based on the passion I have seen in this thread I don't believe anybody who says the LDC is "just another game" ..... thats a load of hornswaggle

We need to petition the CFL Commish to host LDC
BigBlue replied to Wanna-B-Fanboy's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
BC lost because Lulay was too banged up to continue in top form ..... Jennings was not intop form either and did not get his rhythem back till late in the game -
You mean you didn't add a Bob Irving over ride?

And I thought I was verbose -
Let me correct: "Grey Cup Of My Season" .... if we win the Grey Cup next Sunday I will be happy all year

Harris got a bit of a stinger today .... could slow down his practicing this week .... sets a tough as nails example I did not notice anyone else getting nicked up in Montreal .... more battered and blue than anything major for several ....I guess thats what staying fresh is all about Need to use Harris as a decoy more often if we are going to get maximum value out of Flanders in the lineup, it seems to me

Sounds more like infatuation than genuine judgment to me -

If Regina lost the LDC to Winnipeg their premier would have to resign. -

Jennings is a gunslinger .... TD to interception ratio has been ugly and will continue .... Lulay if healthy is better but I expect his "fragile" label to stick ... if Lulay is used as an off the bench game saving savior BC could go places Otherwise with Jennings its going to be like Clint Eastwood asked: "Are you feeling lucky?" -
Thats what I do .... crank up the speakers on the computer and sync cjob.com with my TV picture .... works perfectly and Bob is so much bet than Black ... true happiness

Given we have not won the Grey Cup since 1990, going to Regina for the Labor Day Classic has become the most important game of the Bomber season. The Banjo bowl supplements it but there can be no sweeter victory than beating the Roughies on their home turf in front of their "Laboring" crowd. For me it is everything, regardless of whatever else we do in a season. I think Regina is a better club than the Alouettes so I am expecting a huge battle. I thought Lapo turtled with the offense after halftime. Downfield passing all but disappeared. So we won on turnovers 2016 style. But this is no way to beat the Rougies, Regina will turn the table on us if we try that ultra conservative play calling again. At least we won't have to deal with Montreal's blitz crazy defense. Kevin Glenn will have something to prove.

Just hearing on 1290 Poop Johnson out, OKP in

The local bands .... there is so much talent just desperately hoping for a chance to strut their stuff .. they would not be expensive and the fans win as long as the bands don't go to extremes with their song selection ... could make a big difference to the local scene ... and as you said recruit a lot of young folhs for the whole fan experience I hope management is listening

We are going for the cup this year, not building fpr the future .... so age this year means nothing

One more little thing, Parking: I have settled on Park N ' Ride but last week decided to drive straight to the game, don't ask me why. (it had something to do with getting a pizza to go). I got a spot very close to the stadium just over the hill opposite the east entrance. I was surprised at the $20 bill I handed over for the privilege but still I was inside the stadium gates in no time at all. Leaving was another matter. We were literally a few hundred feet from University Crescent but had to follow the flow of traffic as directed by the gates-keepers. It took over 40 minutes to get onto University Crescent (and then just 3 minutes to get to Pembina Hwy) .... Is exit traffic always that bad? Is there a better faster place to park and exit? It was a funny way to spend $20 when I could have had a beer or two instead. Any suggestions should I ever skip the Park N ' Ride again?
