Could it be that we should be discussing being an elite team instead of whether we have an elite QB ..... the two go together and are basically inseperable .... you can't have one without the other
-
Do you know the difference between Heath & Fogg? Between 23 & 3 .... one returns interceptions, the other returns punts
-
I would like to know who outside of Saskatchewan actually called for Regina to win tonight .... is there anyone on this board or for that matter in this country that had that much insight?
-
And what does that have to do with Ricky Ray or Edmonton's report on losing two more starters .... quit being so grumpy and appreciate things for their own merit ..... When we forecast the coming picks for this week I would like to know whether we will have a Ray led Toronto or that other thing we saw this week .... teams are tight lipped about their injuries so we do need rumor and speculation i.e. those sources need to be to easily find the questions they have answers for

As Solomon said vanity of vanities, all is vanity like the blowing of the wind ... lets all get depressed because nothing satisfies ..... or else we can be endlessly curious about the interesting little things

Anybody know the chances of Ricky Ray starting against Montréal next week? I didn't notice any nicks or scratches to the Bomber personnel from last night's game in Hamilton. Who is hurting? Will we get Brandon Alexander back for the Edmonton game?
-
We were all a little frustrated that we had to settle for field goals instead of touchdowns in the early part of the Hamilton game. Do we lack the killer instinct? Were we just unlucky? Were we calling running plays when we should have been passing downfield? Where the Tiger Cat defensive backs playing tighter as they got closer to their own end zone? Was Nichols taking less passing risk when we were in field goal range? I for one think that Lapo is turning out to be a pretty decent offensive coordinator. I don't think he gets too conservative. I do think he was brilliant in shutting down the Montréal blitz with his dink and dunk. Yes. Lapo loves the short game but there has been more than enough downfield passing as well I don't think Nichols lacks the ability to pick out a receiver downfield and he doesn't seem to be running for his life from the defensive lineman. We have been getting plenty of YAC from our flat passes and halfback dumps. Is quarterback Nichols perhaps just a cautious protect-the-ball type that keeps the number of interceptions very low? Does he need more of a sense of abandon, a "damn the torpedoes, full speed ahead" attitude when we get near the oppositions goalposts? Or do we need to change our strategy and schemes once we get inside the opposition 30 yard line? Do we even feel the need to do that? One thing for sure, neither our players ability nor attitude changes as we get close to the opposition goal line. But something changes; I just don't know what it is. Could it be a confidence thing? I just don't have answers for any of these questions .... Perhaps we could get a little help from our armchair gurus, please ....

THE POINT IS THERE IS A MARKET FOR HIGH QUALITY ENTERTAINMENT ESPECIALLY WITH SOME NATIONAL PRIDE THROWN IN ... THIS STUFF IS A TEN TO TWENTY YEAR PROJECT AND REQUIRES A RICH VISIONARY TO BREAK THE STATUS QUO
-
I believe they will eventually in a joint maritimes partnership ... what is lacking is a strong private owner like the McCain family
-
This might be sound good, more fair, reasonable, professiinal and all that but 2 things: 1. The status quo gives the lower attendance east a better hope especially in getting to a lucky Grey Cup (see Ottawa and regular season % last year) 2. Long standing east west tradition and that still means something (see also about TV stuff) I believe going to a top 6 would affect attendance for the perennial weak sisters in the east where there is so much else to do ... could even cost a Toronto or someone to drop out and kill the league Better is to concentrate on adding three new franchises in Halifax, Quebec City and Saskatoon: they will all sell out 25K+ stadiums ... A 12 team league is very doable future

The Problem is Reilley is incredibly hard to hit but if we could just lay an incredible lick on him and put him on his back he might just be a little bit less frisky .... It might be worth a 15 yard roughing the passer, not that I want him injured, but I do want him thinking about the rush and self-preservation ... His biggest problem has always been taking that tough hit that has occasionally sidelined him ... Let's try and put that worry in his head ... Meanwhile it appears Edmonton has lost 2 more starters in Ottawa including our friend Mr. Sewell .... Eventually that has to catch up to them doesn't it?
-
Of course we can, and we can walk and chew gum at the same time too Indeed some of us can multitask and enjoy it .... no need for you to participate ... but I am very excited about the upcoming Eskie game .... the Ti Cat game will be a builder for us but we are going to set the tone for the rest of the season in the Edmonton contest .... if we beat them we move into the realm of a real contender for the Grey Cup .... and that is what it is all about ... so get back to whatever you are doing and have fun .... you can catch up to us later
-
Everyone hated Burris but he was a leader and a difference maker .... he made receivers ... the grit and determination was there .... Harris is not at that level to bring everyone's game up ... Desjardin and Campbell should drag Henry out of his TSN perch, get him into shape, and take another run at that Grey thing ... or they can yawn and we can go back to sleep on thus franchise .... talk about going from heroes to bums .... go Blue Jays!
-
I am sorry but I am looking right past the upcoming TiCat game .... coaches say don't do it: but I am a fan not a player and I am doing it. I would be shocked if the Hammy contest will be anything but a confidence booster and momentum builder for us ... we are just way better Which brings us back to the Edmonton visit ... they are the league leader and they do seem to be in control even though their opponents have stayed close in the last couple games ... but are they running out of gas? The injury bug is not lessening and they are anything but perfect but Reilly's leadership has them on a roll or should I say a steam roller. Nichols is a leader too but I don't know if he can carry the team on his back the way Reilly did against Ottawa - - with an awesome running display when it was needed to close out the game. Apparently our D is growing tighter as we witness Johnson's release but how can the Eskie game not be a shootout? Reilly is like a greased pig regularly buying extra time to throw down field or just squirt upfield on his own. So how do we contain him? If we are going to blitz we better go at him under control or we will be grabbing a lot of nothing burgers. Our DE's need to be very disciplined and keep the pig inside the pocket. And we might need a shadowing rover just beyond the pocket if we can scheme it. I don't know if Hurl is fast enough to do that or if he has the instincts to smell out what is developing late in the play. Other than that I think we match up. So that means it will be a test of our heart, courage, discipline and character .... right?

Nichols reminds me of when Tom Burgess came to the Bombers .... turned the franchise around as a sound QB ..... Not a hall of famer but sound and and a leader

I do not get it ..... why does it matter who went fishing in our pond? -
If Johnson does not dress will we find out if Roc has turned the corner? Will we finally see a double running back set if Thorpe can't go?
-
Johnson is back practicing but not with the first team Thorpe is not practising today ..... small nick Source 1290 Tuesday morning

If we are just using Hurl to fill gaps why not move Trent Corney to MLB? He could not be any slower than Hurl in pass protection, could he? Why is a team with one of the greatest MLB's of all time utterly unable to solve that position after MOS's 3 year reign here?

how are you sure ... never heard of that rule
