but you have a limit of how many you can take off the six

I don't see it as a knee jerk reaction .... I see a proactive commissioner and thats a very good thing ... proactive isn't perfection just progress that needs multiple revisions over time, each one an incremental improvement
-
That is not the worst looking injury list i have ever seen but 4 of 7 are starters on defense
-
One game 34 Briggs, Jesse LB 31 Leggett, Maurice DB 86 Richards, Addison WR 6 game NAME 4 Gauthier, Shayne LB 25 Johnson, Bruce DB 54 Okpalaugo, Tristan DE 38 Wild, Ian

On Tsn @ 6pm Nichols sang Lapo's praises to high heaven
-
Wild flies around the field and seems to get injured laying it on the line ... by contrast Hurl seems late for everything and seldom is his body in jeopardy
-
really : Wild Johnson Leggett all back to full health?
-
QB Harris & Ottawa's offence have great stats but keep losing ... is this the week they start to turn it around?
-
The way Medlock has kicked recently I am wondering if he is working his way through an injury or a pull
-
Before all this "upper body injury .... lower body... " we as fans used to know a lot more about whats going on ... perhaps we as posters can become better detectives Lets start with the Dressler injury: is it worth a DI spot for him to just hold for Medlock ... if not will a QB hold for Medlock in Ottawa?

already cited in another thread this is an excellent discussion of our tackling: https://bomberbuzz.com/2017/07/28/bombers-defensive-backs-struggle-to-defend-run-against-alouettes/amp/

So why are we not moving Knox to the middle?
-
We have been lit up for an awful lot of points this season .... outside of missing two starting LBs and a starting DB, and a downgrade at MLB has anything else changed on our defense? Last year we strippped the ball with great regularity ... now I am wondering if we are putting the same energy into our tackling .... but how could that have changed? Is our ball hawking turnover producing coming back when we get our D starters back? That is what will make us champions I think....
-
well look how many first downs we got under that umbrella last night

"I'm really starting to think you don't like much in terms of the bombers and/or cfl." Taint as your name implies, you have been on my case for a while, like an annoying negatron .... I am not sure why you are sitting on some kind of self anointed throne of self righteous sitting in judgement of those who do not fit your narrow minded world "Other than the around the league thread and reg season bomber thread, most of your threads are negative towards the bombers and/or the refs;" Simply untrue .... just highlighting the issues the issues of the day, avoiding Captain Obvious "GDT vs Mtl starts with stating we have average NI's and how DD > Nichols..etc" I actually said our Canadians were better but in your prejudice you got it backwards .... happens all the time to those with a tainted perceptual field who see what they expect is there instead of what is there .... As to DD vs. Nichols, do you allow people to form opinions different than yours about who might be a better QB? Durant is a proven star, Grey Cup winner, and possibly coming into his best years or maybe he is about to collapse in a heap like Kevin Glenn .... but he played well last night .... Nichols has been the subject of much criticism on this board even as he is winning (can't throw the long pass, too slow picking out or finding secondary receivers, etc ad nauseum).... I think Nichols is decent ... just believe DD is a notch or two better .... how does expressing a judgment make me a negatron Mr. TF? "What would it take to fire a Coordinator" was a piece of sarcasm in reaction to the constant never ending bellyaching theme of so many threads about how awful our two coordinators are .... the conclusion jumpers never did engage their IQ to see what I was actually doing ... I have to concede that a subtle tongue in cheek does not seem to work on this board ... opinion sledge hammers seem to be the requirement BTW at no point was I looking for a coordinators head ... unless and until ,of course, every poster here demands it "Causes: 2 & Outs, late game fading, jekyll & hyde" was a simple attempt to organize and analyze what is ailing our club ... to find a theme or cause for all the little things going wrong, why our performance has been so inconsistent ... how is such a search anything but normal discussion ? search does not equal negatron except in the eyes of a tainted negatron "is it time to professionalize refs - complaining about refs that you thanked in another thread for gifting the bombers a win from the heavens": well giving thanks for a blessing is not exactly negativity, is it ... unless of course you hate God .... my thread was a simple putting forth a solution to one of the CFL's biggest blemishes .... an attempt to be constructive and helpful, not negative "Now I'm not saying people shouldn't bring up the negatives, or put their head in the sands, but you've really become habitually fixated on only the negative side of things" ... I do believe you have it backwards: you are the one who has "become habitually fixated on only the negative side of things" You see Mr TF it is you who has the warped mindset that interprets in negativity, that is, you are out there with some kind of an evangelistic grudge against me. Norman Vincent Peale never said disregard all facts and analysis to achieve The Power Of Positive Thinking ... there is a way to success and it involves thinking your way through through a problem So take off your grey lenses and try some rose coloured glasses And if you see Pollyanna say Hi to her for me Like this

totally disagree ... NFL CFL doesn't matter .... D Coordinators don't want to be embarrassed by a big play with a lead in hand and they insanely change strategy from what has been working ... its the stuff comebacks are made of
-
Those soft end of game schemes let the offence throw short passes underneath the deeper umbrella ... just don't let them complete a long pass : that would be too terrible for words Of course last night Montreal's prevent D allowed us a chance to win the game, so thanks. The prevent D is why 3 TDs can be scored in the last 3 minutes of a CFL game. It's why the last possession of the first half usually results in a score. I find it unreasonable that a defense that has been mostly tough as hell against the other team's offense should give that up to go soft just because it is nearing the end of a half. Can some one wake Ritchie Hall up to the realities of the soft prevent, please?

Dressler got hurt on Cox's horse collar

What would it take to fire a coordinator?
BigBlue replied to BigBlue's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
I see MOS as a hands-off HC, not over ruling his coordinators much, if it all. I am just wondering whether its time he take a more directing approach with Ritchie Hall. For example, DBs playing a soft 6 yards off the receivers .... can he put forward a change in strategy to Hall? -
41-40, (42-43), 33-25, 43-40 What's going on?
BigBlue replied to BigBlue's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
you had have 2 out of 3 in the lineup all the time and staying very fresh .... just slightly more rotation than now ..... and a MLB actually stopping the run -
41-40, (42-43), 33-25, 43-40 What's going on?
BigBlue replied to BigBlue's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
When Wild gets back I would like to see he and Leggett flanking Knox at MLB ... play 2 Canadians on the DL ... we are rotating anyway .... Corney & Thomas are less of a loss than Hurl being a slow moving pylon -
Really amazing, this miracle game ... most encouraging to me
-
I am giving the happy honker award to Lapo where his dink and dunk to Harris and Lankford kept the never ending Montreal blitz mostly on its heels .... yes they got to Nichols at times but the release passes kept Montreal in check and gave us time to throw down field from time to time.
-
This season is not going anything like my expectations for our precious Blue. 15 first downs in the 4th quarter... wow! 4 complete quarters this time. We might have just learned how to be a winner .... we certainly have a chance to build momentum in the next few games: we play Ottawa, Hamilton, Edmonton, Montreal, Regina and Regina between now and September 9. Have we created a Frankenstein?

What would it take to fire a coordinator?
BigBlue replied to BigBlue's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
I am hoping that pressure builds for the coordinators to perform, to move beyond their comfort zone just a little bit and push the envelope - - almost every poster on this site wants our Blue to be a more aggressive ... this thread isn't about firing anyone right now: we are no where near the panic button ... we just need to stretch, optimize what we are capable of This thread is also a sarcastic reply to all those relentless critics of our play calling and schemes: SO MUCH BELLY-ACHING WITHOUT THOUGHT AS TO THE REAL CAUSES OF WHAT IS AILING US
