Lawless: Chill Out, Let Miller & Co Do Their Jobs
BigBlue replied to Noeller's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
What distubs me is Ottawa, an expansion club, appears tp be ahead of us in development and play ... agree or not they have a win now attitude in terms of their personnel .... thats all that counts in the dfl -
Henoc on his way to Hamilton & Toronto for visit

Do we make the playoffs this year? We have beaten the Riders twice. Montréal once and Vancouver once. All of our victories have been against basement dwellers. So forget about the Grey Cup! We will play Calgary, Edmonton and Toronto before the playoffs and so far we have had only one close game against them. More importantly, we have games left against Montréal, Ottawa and BC. I don't know if we can win two or even three of those games. Meanwhile, BC plays Calgary, Edmonton, Hamilton, Toronto as well as Regina and us on their home turf. Montréal has Edmonton, Toronto, Hamilton, Ottawa, Regina in the last game of the season, and us next Sunday. If we can win all three games of our games against Montréal, Ottawa and BC wejust might a chance to make the playoffs. If we beat BC, they might only win one more game this year (against the Rough Riders). Conceivably Montréal could beat Ottawa, Regina and one of the top four teams. In that hypothetical, we win three more games, Montréal wins three more games, and Vancouver wins one more game: BC would be 5 & 13. We finish 7 & 11; , while Montréal would have the same 7 & 11 record, not enough to cross over ahead of us. Does anyone think we can do better than that this year?

hearing, not reading .... no topic on such but probably in one of our lengthy threads .... I have less interest these days on reading every word of every post I do hope he isn't in a MB staight jacket

Hearing Nichols will start .... could it be otherwise? Have the coaches told him what an "audible" is?

When Incompetence Isn't Fired, Teamwork Is Destroyed
BigBlue replied to BigBlue's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
I get a rash when I even think about working within a bueaucracy -
In the business world, when incompetent employees are not dismissed, staff morale suffers, cooperation / coordination starts to disappear. and before long team work is replaced by individualism. Its no different in football. A good example is the Blue's 2014 linebacking decisions. That kind of management example has come home to roost in 2015; in fact it is now permeating the organizatiom. Its spreading like a cancer.

What exactly is Wade Miller's job. What has he done to date? Can anybody show me anything?
-
Was it a good kinda yelling like, "Hey Wade! Keep up the good work!" Or was it the bad kind of yelling like, "Hey Wade, nice hiring you did for the Bombers! Maybe stick to Pinnacle!" Whoever said Pinnacle was a success; I work in an industry related to Pinnacle. I have used Pinnacle. They have not done anything to impress me ... in fact, they have done the opposite .... still they seem to make money and carry on ... what does it take run a franchise like booster juice ... well not everybody can do it but there is a formula for success but you have to follow it ...... still not impressed

'new' Blue Bomber radio show tonight

Apathy What did MOS say about bringing MB for this year? Who is Wade Miller any way? At least the Riders were polite enough to fire someone Someone blew out the Bombers light a long time ago.
-
I know I am but when analyzing MOS's demeanor is the most interesting thing there is to do, what does that say ... a new QB in town and I can't get excited ... yawn
-
I got this creepy feeling listening to MOS ... it was his demeanor, his tone, the jadedness and an aura of resignation, inevitability ... signs of a dead man walking? I don't know ... it was the opposite of engaging, of that I am sure
-
Never done that Bomber mid season before I have been angry mid-season but never disinterested or bored
-
Blow outs are what get coaches (and GM's) fired If MOS wants to save his job for next year he must appear to do something, attempt to resucitate the patient which is in this case is the BB Offence. Making Buck Pierce OC might do it. The elephant in the parlor is of course MB's predictability, timidity and whatever else adds up to this tepid incompetence. Buck at least has fire in his belly and the courage to try. The other appearance needed is to cut Brohm; If you won't cut incompetence you appear indifferent. Bringing back Yantz might appease some of us. Saying he was too green to play was just MB's cowardice. He could find a receiver downfield and rifle it in to him. No skipped balls with Canadian star. And he brings a history of success and confidence, If that is too big a move, then go find Portris although that feels like defeatism. The brass have to make a move or two immediately .... none of this rearranging deck chairs on the Titanic.

Bombers interested in Jasper Simmons, UPDATE: Signed to PR
BigBlue replied to gbill2004's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Isn't there a thing called waivers, Bombers 1st choice except for Ottawa ... so why a bidding war? -
Yes all that & more ... its the experience of winning that makes for the secret success sauce and it can come from anywhere. Willy had it for a while last year. This stuff ISN'T LUCK.
-
IMHO we lost to Calgary because we don't yet have our confidence built to its top level. When it comes those "little things" will go right instead of going wrong. I am not sure I want Swaggerville back - - it was close to being too much, even over the top ... but I am waiting for something like it to come around. Swagger is what it takes to play championship caliber.

Did Marve lose his short-yardage job?
BigBlue replied to gbill2004's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Or they can see better than some of us are willing to admit and realized Marve wasn't very good at the short yardage QB sneaks?? I mean that is another possibility. Seeing as tho Marve at times has been stuffed short or even barely got the yard or 6 inches needed for the first down, maybe they decided Brohm is actually the better option??? There is that possibility. I get it, people love Marve but really, he hasn't really done much to get all this love yet. He actually hasn't done much of anything and I think he has potential but the guy is not going to be the saviour here or anywhere else. I honestly don't think he knows how to read the D yet, if that ever comes, cuz he does have all the tools, but lots of QBs do seem to have all the tools but are missing the smarts to actually become something more than that 3rd string option QB. I feel Marve needs to learn to read a D first before he becomes anything special, until then he's just another guy with tons of potential but.. perhaps not the smarts. Can disagree all you want but... theres been quite a few QB's like Marve who have come to this league with all this potential but just lacked something, I am starting to feel Marve may be similar. I think he lacks the ability to read the D and until he can do that, if he ever can do that... he's not gonna amount to much at all. Look at a guy like Rakeem Cato, you can actually see him going through his reads while scrambling out there, it's not exactly run first for him, for Marve, it has indeed been run first. He seems to lack the ability to read the D, doesn't go through his reads, if the first guy is covered, he's running and that's exciting and all, but.. it's not really sustainable at all, that big 30 yard run Marve has, well maybe if he actually went through his other reads, maybe it's a 50 yard touchdown instead. Have you ever looked up in a dictionary the word "redundancy"? -
[MERGED] Chris Walby Interview and Injuries
BigBlue replied to B-F-F-C's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Chris Walby: "I was talking with someone the other day who said that there are way more injuries in training camp now. Keep in mind that back then we did two-a-days for four weeks and always in full gear. Now you’re only allowed one contact day per week and everything else is shorts and helmets. And yet there’s way more guys getting banged up now than ever before when we played. What does that tell you? I don’t know — maybe our bodies are better not coming into the season so fine-tuned that you pull a hamstring on day one. We’re not machines. Our bodies need recovery time. I’m not saying you should show up to camp with a keg of beer on your back going, “Oh hey, here we go!” even though a lot of guys did in my day. But your body needs time to heal." http://3downnation.com/2015/07/13/sitting-down-with-chris-walby/ I have so often wondered why we lose so many great rookie prospects early in training camp, and not so much the veterans. Can you over-train before camp? What causes the huge number of preseason injuries, really? Just calling that normal is to deny the facts. What can be done to change it? -
Don't tell me ... tell MOS
-
After Picard retires in January they are good ... don't we have one of the best OL coaches in the business?
-
It seems MOS wanted to stand pat with his July 1 2014 roster last year until forced to change
-
I was just thinking in terms of upgrading talent .... not thinking about emergency replacements at all Do we have a stand pat roster for the rest of the year now?
-
They are running anywhere they want on us ... but you are right: off tackle seems more frequent than up the gut
