  1. Legget at safety good news; so is Richards albeit as backup to Bastien No Neufeld on the depth chart 2 import backup DL, no backup import LB who will be the DI's? Not much change to a D that gave up 500 yards last week, just reinstalling the starting safery
  2. so IF Legget is not back & Wright is gone, who plays safety: LJ Shell, Randle into the back 5, another Canuck at S or, or, or, or ??? And if Randle & Hurl move out of the LB core, what does it look like? Waiting to see the new depth chart are we ... aren't we glad we are not Coach? Day-to-day you say on Legget? D is anything but decided.... not anywhere near ready to begin gelling
  3. Obviously have to make some D changes: Leggett - wonderful ... a third of the problems solved Hurl - is he hurt? Briggs won't be enough of a solution for the LB problem Randle - move him back to corner or make some "adjustments" Blitzing - duh The offence can stand pat
  4. Thanks for starting a cfl discussion thread ... other one was way too long
  5. I just wish Miller, Walters & MOS were a little more forthcoming, straight forward & honest .... like with Yantz they promised a real opportunity to make the club but never gave him a legit chance to strut his stuff... I don't understand their motivation in such dealings .... to offer him the OC position with the Rifles just hours after cutting him had every appearance of bait & switch ... such dealings could turn a fine Canadian like Yantz off football forever ... even to something like playing in the Arena league for a year or two to spruce up his game .... Honesty is a crucial part of building camaraderie and team spirit
  6. You mean corner?... but yes I agree, I think he may stay there til one of the new guys is ready... I think Burnett will be a good candidate No I meant safety ... we need someone with half a brain back there ... last game was awful and I can't think of who else would be an upgrase ,,,, Lin J Shell?
  7. Who makes this stuff up & on what criteria? What does last year''s ratings have anything to do with this year's?
  8. "Get that guy back at halfback ASAP. " or even safety till Leggett gets back
  9. MOS was one of the greatest Canadian LB's of recent times. Do you think he is trying to recreate a clone of himself ? I am very disappointed that our former LB specialist has such poor LB talent surrounding him ... what is wrong with his perceptual skills / mindset, if anything?
  10. Starting both Hurl & Waggoner: WE HAVE GOOD NEWS AND BAD NEWS The good news is that we are starting 10 Cabadians .... The bad news is that we are starting 10 Cabadians
  11. Coaches are goi\ng to do what coaches do and never consider fan sentiment. Yikes they are missing so much MBB fan wisdom. But just for the record, (because it certainly matters) what are your 3 starting linebackers for the season opener?
  12. It is possible that their plan @ #4 has been Jordan Yantz all along and that the battle for a QB position has been between Marve and Portis. Keeping a qb you're not giving reps to? That just seems a dumb idea when trying to develop a player. But that's just the point. If you've decided to make him your 4th QB already, then you have to make a decision on the other 2 QBs..which one to keep.. How? By splitting their reps and seeing how they do. Yantz gets his work in practice and his development, as a CFL-ready QB, may not be as far behind as some think. Is it a dumb idea, or forward thinking? It's a theory. I just don't see it as a good idea at all. There is no benefit to a canadian qb so why decide on a guy who is likely behind the others in terms of development anyway and not give him reps? What if it turns out he's a terrible qb at this level? Wouldn't it be better to figure that out now than in the event they ever get that far down the depth chart? If they made that decision it's a bad decision. Yantz because has a strong accurate arm & good football smarts ... could develop into a Russ Jackson
  13. How about some success stories? Bud Grant Mike Riley Cal Murphy
  14. "All is good... We are making good progress; we have better talent than last year ... No real problems and we are working on what little there is to improve ... I can't really single out one or two players as outstanding stars, we have a very nice set of players, none seem to stand out above the others ... You can't say we have any real weaknesses, we just have to make some adjustments to our schemes ... Before commenting on that I'll have to study the film but overall I am quite pleased with our team ... No, I can't say that any one play did it... We just played together better as a team than ever before ... It wasn't an individual effort it was a team effort ... " puke, puke, puke, yawn, yawn, yawn, yawn, snore (listening to Michael O'Shea being interviewed by Bob Irving on CJOB) This goes beyond "it's being handled internally". Perhaps O'Shea is a better coach than we've had in a while but as an interview I am bored and frustrated about the non-statements and politically correct answers while saying absolutely nothing. At least with Mike Kelly I wanted to stand up and throttle the guy (not really but he made my blood boil). Of all the Bomber coaches you've known who has given the best interviews? Who made you think? Who created the fan with real respect and honesty? Who was your favourite coach of the Bomber's all-time?
  15. Who makes up these rules?
  16. Is it time to upgrade our trainers? I know some injuries are going to happen ... its the ones from the off-seadon layoff, from not being in mid-season shape, those are the ones that bug me Would better pre-season gym work cut down on training camp injuries?
  17. Disagree ... something lacking/unfair
  18. I have been waiting all year for TC and I am yawning I am not sure why ... I was expecting fistfights about who will make the team ... not giggling about how we dumped a troll Where is the controversy, the unwarranted favoritism for certain players, disagreement with coaching decisions, the surprises and disappointments, and the media spending too much time scratching their own bellies? Is soccer ruining football? I may have dislocated my jaw from yawning too big Is there something bigger than Addison Richards or whatever his name is, yawn, or seasoned veterans pulling up lame early in camp? How about Yantz making the club as our #3 QB?
  19. I know whenever I ask about how we feel or think, there will always be some who insistently say they need more time or data, and some will most certainly volunteer "only time will tell"... But I am curious now that we see the talent we have: Has anybody since early January changed their mind in a meaningful way about our talent level & as a result how well our Blue are going to do this year? Yes we have improved but so has every team. Have we changed enough talent wise to make a real difference?
  20. CJOBs ratings have been progressively declining the last few years. millions & millions served .... with commercials "a little boy coming out of church for the first time was asked how he liked the service: "The singing was great but the commercials were too long" That's how I feel about 'OB It would not surprise me if 20 out of 60 broadcast minutes were commercials Those 5 minute marathons are just too much
  21. WEEK NIGHT GAMES ARE PERFECT FOR ME ... YAHOO !!!!
  22. Anyone have a link to the official signing & closing of the deal & terms ?
  23. I like Wally Buono's philosophy: all the NI rookie's play special teams first year, not much else ... maybe late in the year they might get to start I also think a draft pick on the PR is a waste... time for Goosen to step up
  24. Who is Cronk & why do you like him?
