  1. I don't know how much change Walters has left in his purse but if we can yet get LB CURRAN from Edmonton that would have a big impact on our roster planning.
  2. We have 2 new studs on the O-line, we added some Canadian depth Do we still go after 2 O-lineman with our top 3 picks? What is our new priority with our picks in this deep draft?
  3. Still locked out of chat at 45 ... now its 50 again & full
  4. Even with the number at 47 still can not get in
  5. This year they are waiting an hour on all the pre-deadline signing agreements .... propriety is finally settling in our CFL
  6. The chat room is full at 50. Please keep us less privileged posted. Thank you
  7. Twas the night before Freedom, and all through the house .... Who can sleep with free agency surprises on their way?
  8. What happened to tomorrow's chat room thread?
  9. Walters was called a snake by Korey Banks so does this mean no one will sign here? I would put zero weight in guys being scared to sign in Ottawa.Okay. I'm just going by what players said last year. Clearly you know best.We frequently hear stories of bitter players.. I have yet to see a cfl franchise blackballed by players and struggling to sign players.Money talks and also certain places like Regina and Winnipeg will always be handicapped by geography compared to places like BC , Montreal and Toronto.BC , Montreal and Toronto are expensive places to live if not making top $ Most players don't live in the city they play for... the teams usually put them up in a hotel during the season don't they? Most of the Americans would prefer better night life, better weather, more entertainment etc.... the same issue the Jets have to deal with when competing for free agents... Hotels ... not at all after training camp
  10. "with Sears and then he changed his mind" Sears changed his mind? Or was it Walters?
  11. My comment is on Reebok's disregard of Royal Blue
  12. Does Reebok know anything about tradition sports?

  14. Glenn is Rescue City - - that has been his role for a long time I have no reason to expect that to change Last year he was insurance for Buono with all the Lulay uncertainty Previously he was Calgary's insurance while their young QBs evolved In Hamilton he failed as a number one ... same in Winnipeg He is the QB every one loves to hate ... in spite of some very impressive career QB stats No one thinks he is / will be / has been .... quite good enough ... but he keeps his team respectful and hoping Given Glenn will want starting QB salary numbers so I am going to guess and say no one will sign him until the first major QB injury of the season ... at that point in will walk the salvager and get his pro rata starting QB money He doesn't seem to have enough wear and tear on him to be done I would suggest he might have another year or two in him ... may be he retires in 3 years .... because he will keep hoping to be the Championship MVP but eventually he will accept he is not going to retire after finally winning the GREY CUP
  15. Does the Bomber marketing department have ears? Do they actually listen to fans & forum? Or do they think they know best?
  16. It may not win a brilliancy prize but why wouldn't it be serious/
  17. The NFL angle I didn't consider but does he have a chance at age 30 for any kind of career? I consider Brohm a far better QB than Sunseri who lost his job to Kerry Joseph and his cane Reilly didn't have great stats when he was traded .... we just all knew what he could do I think Brohm came close to proving what he could do for us last year
  18. It would not surprise me to see Brian Brohm starting for the BC Lions or even the Montréal Alouettes before the year is out. I am wondering whether Kyle Walters had a chance to get a draft pick in the same way Wally Buono set up the Mike Riley sweepstakes. Perhaps Walters is hoping to sign him back pr maybe Brohm just isn't that good. Anyway, nobody seems to be falling all over themselves to get this potential star. Any clues?
  19. We think we know the true colours of management around the CFL. Will any be acting out of character in the upcoming free agency scramble? Who will be most active and why?
  20. By the way, the infamous call to throw the ball on second down may have been in large part inspired by the way the Seahawks use their final time outs. They used one or two on the final drive before they got to the goal line and consequently had only one left. So they could pass immediately and if unsuccessful then run on third down; if the run was stuffed they can use a final timeout to run a fourth-down play. If Seattle had of had two or three timeouts left, I am certain they would have run for that final yard on second, third and fourth down.
  21. On the final interception I do not know if Chris Matthews was even on the field. He had a fabulous game with four catches for over 100 yards and two touchdowns. If they had of thrown that final pass to Matthews on the same call, I believe he was big enough that the defender would not have been able to reach around him and make the interception. There was a bit of a collision as they both went for the ball at once. The defender would've bounced off of Chris Matthews like a pinball ... Seattle touchdown, end of story. Two rookies who hardly played all year were big impact players. Kudos to the Pats and boo-hoo to the Seahawks for not putting more faith (in Seattle's case as opposed to New England) for not giving the hot rookie a bigger role in that final drive. Matthews saved Seattle's butt with the onside kick recovery in the conference championship. I expect Matthews will turn into a star for the Seahawks next year. His Star performance in the Super Bowl and a catch on the final offensive play would've made this "unknown" the Super Bowl MVP. As delightful as Chris Matthews was in the last two games, yesterday's Patriots victory was the first time since the Blue Bombers 1990 Grey Cup victory that "my team" has won a bowl game. I am dancing on air...
  22. What happened to "the Claw"?
  23. The reason the NFL works so well and the reason any given team can go from worst to first in short order is a strictly enforced salary cap. Salary caps in other major sports such as baseball and basketball are not nearly as fair. In the CFL I do not know if there is any restrictions on corporate sponsors paying "marketing money" to local CFL players or not. Gone are the days when most of the players had full-time jobs with local companies because players' salaries looked like amateur hour. I've always suspected that a certain quarterback in Montréal was making out like a bandit in "off book" earnings. I have the same suspicions about Saskatchewan's local corporate interests. Regardless of the off book stuff, I believe being over the salary cap should cost not only fines but also draft picks, depending on the extent of the felony. Does anyone remember what the Bombers had to pay the last time they were over the salary cap?
