Interesting that the author of today's Banks' article is blaming TSN for calling him a healthy scratch ... hard to judge the performance of a knicked up athlete .... Banks will eventually get on the field and then we will see Don't like trolling reporters trying to peddle their papers

Agreeing with other posters that Glenn is as good as the personnel around him .... BC doesn't have all their stuff this year and its going to be a long struggling season for them unless Buono gets an airlift of yanks in the door ... he is good at it

[Merged] 2014 Predictions / Standing Forecast
BigBlue replied to AtlanticRiderFan's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
West 1st Stamps 2nd Riders 3rd Bombers 4th Lions 5th Esks East 1st Argos 2nd Cats 3rd Alouettes 4th RB's Stamps finally get that Cup although Ricky Ray makes it close. The Als are lucky they only have to beat out an expansion team. Smith isn't the answer at QB. Hamilton isn't a dominating team yet finishing 4th overall. Collaros turns out to be just average. Calgary gets it altogether with great determination. The Riders don't have last year's stuff but still have decent talent. Kevin Glenn is himself and starts 12 games ... Wally just doesn't have it any more. Edmonton is more of a joke than last year. As for our Blue, the quality of coaching and leadership shine through. We lose when our Canadian talent get injured but healthy we win our share. International players get updated throughout the first half. Willy is finally our QB. Mavre shows great promise. We edge out a troubled Lion club that crosses over to the East for the playoffs. -
So what does your depth chart look like at this moment in time?

Rather than worrying about wages I would like to see the league add more Canadians to the rosters for development purposes. For example, add 5 "designated" minimum salary positions to be enjoyed by 1st and 2nd year NI's. Expand the 42/46 to 44/49 or something like that. Could also add a 50th position for a Canadian QB .... I would also like to see the Taxi squad bigger with more yanks learning the Canuck version of 3 down football Add 5 or 6 positions and more Taxi $ ... creating more union jobs .... better quality football over the long haul. Less injury impact with bigger rosters and over time better quality Canadians Thinking non-mainstream here...

I am not sure I am inspired by this video .. I have seen more fans at our local high school game ... didn't see great speed ... did see his ability to go to open spaces and cut back against the grain .... yawn

A Look at Bombers RB/Receivers
BigBlue replied to JuranBoldenRules's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
I dont like the black background and reverse lettering … I won't read it Look at the highly successful blogs and get rid of the gimmicks -

Yea I am .... everything changed when O'Shea took over .... I admire Wade Miller for stepping vack from his ideas to give O'S some space ... nonetheless Hocking would be awesome
-
....

I would like to see us hire Doug Hocking as LB coach …. talented, extremely football bright, and the right attitude …. he is in the BC Junior football peogram …. Wade Miller knows him well
-
As a child I used to wait for the Tribune and Jack Matheson's column to arrive after school … then waiting for dad to come home from work so I could tell him the Bomber's latest news ….
-
The new Bomber sites are a huge improvement over whatt we had two years ago … I am very happy about it all What I miss though is the column listing the latest CFL/Bomber articles in the Free Press, Sun and other papers I find it a pain in the butt to be constantly searching the online sports pages - - es[ecially in the off season Can we pin a topic where our members can post the latest media links with a short description of the article?

This is the best schedule for me in years … Thursday nights are fantastic, especially in the summer -- love it …. Saturday nights in the fall are 10x better than Friday nights for me
-
The treasured players have been snapped up and the lottery ticket leftovers thrown over our shoulders … now its time to sign the grinders who aren't worth what they dreamed they would get i hope we resign Foster as a receiver who has potential to move up a couple of levels What other dark horses are out there that can develop into good role players?

So why didn't we offer Emery $250 000 ?

Chimp howling into the wind here: How is it not one trade took place before the expansion draft?
-
The CFL teams have already gamed the spirit and intent of the expansion draft by not resigning most of their Free Agents … so Ottawa is losing out big time Do you think the Commish is coming back at them with "moral-suasion" to even things up? The complete lack of activity prior to the trade deadline suggests this…. its just contrary to a GMs nature to not optimize before a deadline. Does this seem right or am I just howling in the wind here?

Roster freeze goes into effect tomorrow

talk about hijacking my topic -
The trading deadline prior to the Ottawa expansion draft is upon us. Obviously by design or not everyone has waited for the last minute to wheel and deal. Does Walters give up draft picks to get proven Canadians or a QB? Is there a QB sweepstakes prize for a Calgary QB …. or does Huffer choose to loose 1 QB and keep 2? Is he happy to keep 2 extra Canadians instead off what must be an expensive 3rd QB? Is this a time to trade for a Canadian lineman or a NI safety for middle round draft pocks? Is there anybody good enough to give up our first rounder? Will we have any bidding wars develop? Opportunity is knocking ….. what should we do?

Well what we have had for management in the last two decades has been futility and the bottom line cause for our failure as a team
-
Much as I hate to say this .... this type of governance works quite well in Rider-Ville and seems to be the difference between a well run football club and what we have been experiencing here in Winnipeg Our board resembles a self serving old boys club filled with cronyism .... and I don't know what could be worse than that for us
-
I suggest the Bombers go to a fan elected Board of Governors for our beloved Big Blue: 1. Hold elections once a year for 4 board members 2. Each season ticket holder has 1 vote .... no one else has any votes 3. Term is 3 years 4. 12 elected Governors in all (so the board is completely turned over every 3 years) 5. Nominations for elections come from both the club and the general public. 6. No successive terms of office i.e. no re-elections to a 2nd term ... must sit out for at least 3 years before being nominated again 7. The board (through change in its constitution) must become more transparent with many of its affairs especially and including a detailed budget. Would you like to see a community elected BOD over the Blue Bombers?
-
What I see as different is that the Saskatchewan BOD is elected by the fans (hint: "community": team) once a year rotatinmg all the board over time .. 1/3 of the board changes each year I think our board is nothing but a cronie old boys club ... we have to change our governace
