  1. he made that 49 yarder look real easy
  2. Logic says routing teams two weeks in a row is not in BC's favour. They had last week. This game will be closer than you think. Some people are just needlessly negative. If only this team was as good as Edmonton... siiiggghhhh the esks are sooooo dreamy..... Its definitely sad when a 3-1 record cant bring about some optimism.. All I can say to that is, goddamn the West Division...
  3. really enjoyed that. Thanks
  4. If you were to ask him what/who exactly was the issue with o-line, he's stammer and stutter for 45 seconds before changing the subject.
  5. I believe that is the point. The funniest part of that show is the fact that the people they are making fun of are also their biggest fans.
  6. You could label Community or Portlandia a hipster show, but Modern Family? My mom watches it...
  7. It sucks to lose the money tied up in Banks, but the more I think about it, the more I love this move. It shows that Walters and O'Shea won't take any bullshit from anyone. It'll be a slap upside the head for the entire team. Play for the team or **** right off. Nothing like this would have happened the past few years.
  8. The puns in the headlines this year are going to be unbearable.
  9. Whenever I have to miss a game, I don't feel as bad as I should because I know Odds and Sods will fill me in on the feeling of the game. Happy it's back for another year.
  10. keeping the north end booze vendors open through the 4th quarter could result in a pretty decent bump in concession revenue.
  11. in the short term, I could see him as a guest coach during TC if he doesn't sign with another NFL team, but that's about it.
  12. With Mack, Pencer, Etienne and Poblah now gone, what are we going to argue about? Poblah was a pretty silly argument to have anyway, everyone and their dog agreed that he was a prospect well worth using a first rounder on and if he was in the draft he likely was the #1 pick. Just happened that the guy couldn't translate all those physical tools into anything of substance. Exactly. Sometimes a pick is bad because you don't do your homework. (Pencer) And then sometimes a pick is bad just because they can't figure it out. (Poblah) Poblah was about as surefire of a choice as there was coming out of college. Hell, he was being recruited as an import before his eligibility was established. Remember how dominant he was in training camp the first year he was here? I remember Jovon Johnson saying he's as tough a matchup one on one as he had ever faced in practice. And then as it turned out, he sucked when the lights came on. And, I think part of it, is just how inconsistently we use our NI skill position players .. we draft guys like Volny and Woodson .. and there's no real plan to use these guys (this is a pet peeve of mine) .. Poblah was a great prospect but perhaps he just never found his niche in the offense because of how he was used .. just tossing it out there for the sake of discussion .. I *DO* hope the guy succeeds .. has the physical tools to make a career of it .. I too hope Poblah makes it. He clearly has the physical ability and he's a downright decent guy on top of it (still runs a high school football camp in town with plans to continue it), so good luck to him.
  13. Yantz was praising Marve on Twitter. Wouldn't be surprised if he was on the sidelines giving him some tips on the Canadian game.
  14. Yep - it's useless because the league isn't really a major league. It's not the 'final destination' and 90% of players are not here for the long term. They just want to play and hone their skills for the NFL. Striking won't accomplish that. Guess what though, you live in Canada. The CFL is indeed the major leagues here in Canada. I'm not sure how people fail to understand that Canada is not part of the USA. Why is the CFL not major league? because why? your reasons are flawed, 90 percent of NFL players dont last long either. What makes the CFL not the major leagues in the country you live in? The fact that Canada has like 300 ++ million less people than the USA does? In Canada, the CFL is as big as it gets, therefore it's a major league, just cuz its not on the same level as the NFL doesn't mean it isn't. The NFL should change its name to the AFL because basically its the american football league. You get it now? in Canada we got the Canadian football league. As much as you may want to think that, the CFL is most definitely a 2nd tier league. Name me one American player who dreams of playing in the CFL. Hell, name me one Canadian player who would pick the CFL over the NFL. It's the best we have in Canada and I love it, but in no way is the the #1 football league. The major leagues are where the best players go and they don't go to the CFL.
  15. I think this could work out in the players favour in the long run. The league is starting to bring in significant revenue now, the sort of cash that will allow them to improve the league overall. More money should be available for the things we've complained about for years like officiating, facilities, advertising, etc. These are the sort of things that will improve the league's image and hopefully win over new fans. If the CFL plays it's cards right, they could be making way more money by the time this new CBA expires. That would be the time for the players to try to strike it rich. However, with a league like the CFL, where most players don't stick around more than a few years, it can be tough for the players to take a long-term point of view regarding the CBA.
  16. I thought he was decent for content, it's the shouty delivery that I'm not a fan of. Probably start on CJOB, flip when they go to commercials, flip back when TSN goes to commercials, etc, etc. Hah, yeah. But he's a large man who gets excited about football, it can be tough to control.
  17. are there actually grown adults concerned with "being cool"?
  18. I have to agree. While it is a pretty small amount, what's the point of having a cap if you're not going to enforce it with penalties strong enough to keep teams under it?
  19. should be interesting. He's been quiet the last couple of years and I'm always willing to let a guy show that he's changed. Coming the the CFL can be a humbling experience for an American hotshot. At the very least, we should see some entertaining TD celebrations.
  20. the more I read about Gerald McGrath, the more I'm excited to see what he can bring.
  21. Thanks for the insight. Sounds like it could be a useful tool if used properly.
  22. http://www.winnipegfreepress.com/sports/football/bombers/bombers-bank-on-bird-dogging-253861651.html Sounds like we're finally getting up to speed. Pretty incredible to hear that they are able to pay all of these new scouts with the money that Mack/Moll would have been making. We were getting fleeced even worse than we thought under that regime.
  23. That is an interesting name. He's the sort of guy who sounded like a coach when you heard him talk. Well spoken, knows the CFL game, has some coaching experience. May be worth taking a look at.
  24. I for one, am disgusted. Disgusted in this team's inability to keep game breakers. Mike Sims-Walker was a guy the Bombers could have banked their future on. Now if you'll excuse me, I believe I've pushed my tongue entirely through my cheek.
