Well that was one hell of a PCW show tonight. Congrats, @The Unknown Poster on a fantastic turnout. The Don Callis appearance was a nice surprise. His remarks/actions? Completely unexpected & made me legitimately angry for half a second. It was really cool to see that stuff go down at a PCW show. Also, I can't remember the last stomach claw I saw in person, was nice to see Mike Angels out there. Great lineup overall. Some older guys I haven't seen in a bit like Angels and Robby Royce and then having Tyler Colton on your shows is never a bad thing. I wanna hate him for some reason but he's really solid.

Got my PCW tickets today. Haven't been to a show in a few months, looking forward to it!

Well where the hell is the fun in that?

Sweet jesus! Anyway, I'm hearing this rumour that October 19th is a date to keep free on your calendars...

Well I suppose it's time for a little self promotion. I play in a band called Satanic Rights. Despite being called Satanic Rights, we're not a metal band. We try to write rock'n'roll songs people can dance to and then play them a little drunker and little faster/louder than they should be played. We've got a new album coming out this week entitled Blues Druid (we come up with great names, don't we?👍). It will be available starting Friday through local label Transistor 66 Records on CD and cassette (gross, I know. Basically just a vessel for a download code) or digitally at http://transistor66.com/. If you have some time, browse the Transistor 66 website. They've been putting out some of the best rock'n'roll in Canada for like 15-20 years now. Anyway, here's a song from our new album. If you're looking for something to do on Friday night, the release show is at The Handsome Daughter (south end of Sherbrook). Cover is 10 bucks, show should start around 10:00-10:30. Here's the facebook event page with some more details https://www.facebook.com/events/496007157490383/ And here's the kickass poster that the incredible King Merinuk drew up for the show.

woah. That's a remarkably crappy number. Was there something they were going against that might explain it? The Latin Grammys? A rerun of Nash Bridges?

In my mind, that match never happened.

Are we finally going to get Hogan/Warrior II?!

So what you're saying is we don't have to worry about "Mr Beautiful" getting in the ring?

Close to halloween? I need something to do for halloween this year...

oh man. Sargent Taco Shop. It's been like two weeks since I was there and I'm still dreaming of it every time I burp. 3 tacos for 8 bucks. Run by a Mexican family so it's pretty legit. There's a bunch of options for meat but I just stuck with beef which ended up being shaved slices of super tender steak. A few varieties of homemade salsas that were all really good. There was also a bunch of side dishes I need to try. Small place so either expect to wait to sit at one of the few tables or get take out. I shall definitely return.

The next couple of years will be fun to watch. It will be interesting to see what effect, if any, these supershows will have on ROH's attendance and overall drawing power in the short term. Obviously for the NYC show and ALL IN you've got a lot of people travelling from all over the place to attend and you have the NJPW guys which is a pretty big attraction. I have to imagine that if NJPW starts doing a full American schedule at some point it will be in partnership with ROH but it seems like that's still pretty far down the road.

...and it's officaily a sellout

Realistically anything central would either require tearing down a large number of houses (which for obvious reasons is a non-starter) or would have to be downtown. That's a lot of downtown real estate for a building that doesn't get a whole ton of use. They would have had to build a domed stadium/convention centre sort of deal to make that work. That would have cost a fortune. The U of M offers sort of blank slate considering the abandoned golf course. Unfortunately that land wasn't developed in conjunction with the stadium. They could easily stick some bars and restaurants on to that land, maybe a couple of parkades and the necessary roads. If you have those things, there's really not much of an issue. The bars and restaurants help draw some people early and keep some people late which obviously helps traffic. Rapid transit should have been completed before the stadium opened as well. Howsoever, here were are with none of those things around the stadium. There's always going to be some issues with getting in and out of there in it's current format but I think a lot of them are overblown. They only time it really sucks is if you drive and park in the value lots.

Anyone know what the season ticket count is at these days?
-
Agreed. I was thinking earlier in the year that the Jets run would have an effect but there really hasn't been enough of a deviation from the norm to say one way or another.

Interesting stuff about Ring Warriors/PCW back in the day. I'd love it if someone made a proper documentary about pro wrestling in Winnipeg. I know there's a pretty good one about Tony Condello but there's so many other characters and stories out there. Too bad it takes so long to produce something like that because Winnipeg is getting a ton of attention on wrestling podcasts these days and right now would be a great time to have something ready to release.

Those blown calls didn't seem that critical at the time but given the result the HH goes to the refs.

nah, I still wear the **** 😛 Just saying, most of this stuff comes from the same factory regardless of the company.
-
Meh. They'll probably still get the same stuff made by the same child labourers only with a different logo on the collar.
-
Now get this, bro. The ******' ring is SURROUNDED by shaaawks...
-
Aw damn. Flex Appeal on a boat to the Bahamas seems like big money. And a chance to abandon Leo London on some tiny island... 😛

Totally. I've heard from a couple of different people that work for/with the Bombers in different capacities and they've all said there's this sort of fear of Wade. Maybe fear isn't the right word but you definitely wanna get your job done and done properly.
