  1. Single point has been around forever, calling it a "rouge" has not, as far as I know. Can anyone recall when this term started being used? I don't recall it being used at all in the 60's or 70's when I began following football.
  2. Wow, the generosity of the AB. tax-payer and Jason Kenney's heart knows no bounds, I do wonder what the terms of these loans will be....make no mistake, it shouldn't in any way be considered subsidization of the oil-patch, that is red-communist rhetoric . Alberta to give $100-million loan to decommission orphan wells. Alberta is offering a $100-million loan to decommission 800 to 1,000 orphan wells, a move that is expected to create 500 direct and indirect jobs in the oil services sector. The investment to the Orphan Well Association (OWA) will help the non-profit start 1,000 environmental site assessments that aim to return the land to its condition before the wells were built. The details on the loan will be finalized by April 1. https://edmontonjournal.com/business/energy/alberta-to-give-100-million-loan-to-decommission-orphan-wells
  3. Having 3 brothers named Daryl would be ridiculous, the one who speaks is named Larry.
  4. Which Derel is it you're referring to, Sir?
  5. No surprise, AB. produces more than 3 times the national average of 19.4 tonnes of carbon dioxide per capita and claims they shouldn't have to pay anything for the right to do so. How about we change the dialogue and just call it pollution, which it is. "According to the 2019 World Population Review, at 62.4 tonnes of carbon dioxide equivalent (CO2e) in Alberta more than doubles the emissions of Saudi Arabia at 16.85 tonnes per person. By contrast, Australia had 15.83 and the United States had 15.53. In 2017, the government of Canada listed Alberta’s emissions per capita as the second highest among the provinces – more than three times the national average of 19.4 tonnes per capita. Its most recent data showed Alberta accounted for nearly 40 per cent of Canada’s total greenhouse gas emissions." https://globalnews.ca/news/6138838/wexit-alberta-leader-emissions/ Alberta demands to be removed from federal carbon tax in wake of court decision. "Not us."
  6. Still images don't do this problem justice. Chinese respond to protect their own interests, Chinese food grown for Chinese people on African soil, nonetheless I like their solution. Natalia Garceau @NataliaGarceau · 4h Replying to @Reuters China may send 100,000 ducks to swallow locust plague A single duck can eat more than 200 locusts each day, a researcher told Bloomberg. cnet.com
  7. Put a big drain with a strainer at the bottom of the run.
  8. Posted this in the global warming thread but this is the more appropriate location. Michelle Rempel Garner has drawn a line in the sand with "The Buffalo Declaration". https://buffalodeclaration.com/ If you actually read this document it comes off as if it was written by a table full of disgruntled farmers sitting in a coffee shop bitching endlessly about every perceived grievance Alberta has ever had against Canada, whether based on reality, fact, or not. It's nothing but emotional garbage, surprised 4 MP's actually put their signatures on it.
  9. Looks like Teck threw in the towel on their application to build a massive oilsands project in northern Alberta before it could be rejected. Teck withdraws application for Frontier oilsands mine, citing debate around climate policy Teck Resources has officially withdrawn its application to build the $20-billion Frontier oilsands mine, just days before Prime Minister Justin Trudeau was expected to issue a ruling on the contentious project. In a letter to Trudeau published late Sunday, Teck chief executive Don Lindsay said the company made the decision as protests against a separate pipeline project stretch into their second week, blocking rail lines across the country and occupying public spaces. Lindsay said the Frontier project put his company “squarely at the nexus” of much deeper-lying tensions in Canada between natural resource extraction and First Nation land claims. https://nationalpost.com/news/politics/teck-frontier-mine-alberta-oilsands In unrelated news Michelle Rempel Garner has drawn a line in the sand with "The Buffalo Declaration". https://buffalodeclaration.com/ In related news Jason Kenney does not endorse this declaration, but continues to issue vicious threats...wink wink....nod nod....quack quack. https://nationalpost.com/news/manifesto-underscores-the-depth-of-frustration-in-alberta-says-premier-jason-kenney?video_autoplay=true
  10. Yah but both Dressler and Tasker have the intangible ability of knowing the playbook so well they see the play develop as a QB would, and instantly adjust to the situation. Not many receivers ever reach that level.
  11. Back in the late 80's I was stopped on route #62 about 50 miles East of El Paso, they had a check-stop set up with an air-conditioned booth for border agents as it was a permanent installation. At the time they were searching all passing cars for unauthorized Mexicans who would sneak across the border in the area and meet up with waiting transport, now apparently it's drugs.....or better yet illegal Mexicans with illegal drugs!
  12. Surprised LaPo doesn't seem to be interested in Tasker, he'd be a perfect fit for his O in Ottawa, at least a stopgap until they can find a younger receiver to take his place.
  13. That's what I was implying with Walker and Edwards.
  14. I kind of expect Walker to follow, he's had plenty of time to sign with a CFL club and is now probably exploring other options. Wouldn't be surprised if he returns to the CFL when market conditions suit him better.
  15. Bighill still has 2 years left on his 3 year $750,000 contract but that could be the end of the line.
  16. Remember the audience Keim is speaking to knows virtually nothing about Strev's CFL career, so while boosting him up to make him look good, he's also hedging his bets by saying "he’s gotta make the team first".
  17. Ma little ears are burnin, ya gotta be talkin bout me.
  18. Can't blame it on MBT, he was right up there with the league leaders slinging the ball.
  19. "The Lions’ 2019 offensive line was the worst positional group in Canadian Football. Hunter Steward was not the problem. As a result, he’s the only returning lineman as this is being written." Chungh?
  20. Looks like Peter Nygard is in trouble again. Peter Nygard, Canadian clothing manufacturer, accused of raping 10 women and girls in class-action lawsuit Ten women filed a civil class-action lawsuit on Thursday accusing one of Canada's wealthiest businessmen and clothing manufacturers, Peter Nygard, of raping them at his seaside mansion in the Bahamas and operating what they refer to as a "sex trafficking ring." The women are seeking damages for the alleged rapes. Three of the women were 14 years old at the time of the alleged rapes. Three others were 15 years old. The alleged rapes took place between 2008 and 2015. https://www.cbc.ca/news/peter-nygard-class-action-lawsuit-1.5463684 Not saying it's right but his brother had the same predilection.
  21. It looks like it's going to be McGuire + a rookie or maybe a late T.C. cut like Bennett backing up Collaros this year. If they wanted to sign Franklin, Pipkin or Jennings they had ample time and opportunity to do so, but decided not to.
  22. Justin signed with the Ti-Cats.
  23. Hope you're right, but I think we may see Hansen handling the inside reps. more often than not.
  24. Do you really expect Richardson to play an enitre game without substitution? There were 3 DT's last year and they all played aprox. the same number of snaps, there are 3 DT's (so far) this year and they will all play aprox. the same number of snaps. Griffiths is in, Nevis is out, it's not that complicated, unless they're planning to use DE's at DT often, it is looking like there will be times when Griffiths and Jake are on the field together.
  25. ...and yet Griffiths couldn't steal a single reg. season rep. from Jake before they decided he was ready enough to replace Nevis.
