  1. What Streveler achieved against the Stamps was an incredible display of athleticism and brute will, but taking that amount of punishment is totally unsustainable on a game to game basis IMO, as it is I'm not all that confident he can get through two more games playing with such reckless abandon. If Fajardo is absent or less than 80% I think Collaros can beat the Riders with limited assistance from Streveler, using him sparingly would be wise, saving his beast mode for the big day. Against the Stamps Streveler did not attempt a single pass, he either ran or handed off every time he touched the ball, it was a freak show.
  2. I don't know about that, Streveler created a lot of first downs they would not have made otherwise, he helped keep the offence on the field throughout the game.
  3. Signing Collaros also means rejecting Nichols, I'm not sure they're prepared to do that unless he foolishly tries to play hardball in contract negotiations. I'm thinking Nichols is feeling a bit tense about the playoff success the team is having without him.
  4. I think adding "future considerations" also means negotiating in good faith and it doesn't always strictly follow obvious rules, in this case whether the Bombers sign Collaros before or after the F.A. door opens, if they want to maintain good relations with Pinball they will have to pay for Zach's full agreed upon value and won't try to cheat him on a technicality. As business deals go, Walters definitely owes Pinball one, he saved their butts.
  5. Hard to say, but when they mention "future considerations" the trade boundaries get a bit murky and almost any circumstance can be agreed upon.
  6. The best neighbourhood in Regina is Moose Jaw.
  7. The only way Hughes gets those sacks is when the QB is dumb enough to run within arm's length, he's got no pursuit left in that tired old drunkard's body.
  8. You'll have to watch very carefully to spot Collaros, he was standing on the sidelines for last year's WSF.
  9. I think Walters has to seriously consider that option if Zach brings back a G.C., otherwise he'll probably roll with Nichols.
  10. Thank god for Pinball, he threw the Bombers a life-line by trading Collaros. Who knew???
  11. Great to see Collaros wisdom in not trying any QB sneaks, hopefully he continues that trend in the next game as well.
  12. ....and yet no team will be prepared to offer him the starting QB position this off-season, unless he shows more aptitude for the passing game, he's in danger of getting pin-holed like LeFevour was. I think his best option is to continue in the role he's been given in Wpg. with increased playing time., it might be the closest thing to a two QB system we've seen in decades. without a conflict of egos it could certainly work.
  13. If he re-signs in Wpg. good chance he'll get 4-6 starts nextr season backing up Nichols or Collaros in injury relief, along with his expanded short yardage sets. Next year will be critical for his development, he has to show he can move beyond his "Dan LeFevour role", if he intends to become a starter in the near future.
  14. He's more of a chucker than Nichols, good and bad, throwing an interception doesn't bother him as much and it doesn't alter his game, he keeps on chucking . Nichols withdraws and gets more conservative after throwing an interception and relies on Harris more.
  15. Seriously, a Silverado???......more something like this.
  16. The way the entire Stamps team was huddled around the heater was telling, they wanted nothing to do with the weather and are probably relieved they're heading back south this morning. Be gone ye mangy geese!
  17. Hopefully the weather helps out, the Ti-Cats may not be prepared for what Calgary can throw at them on Nov. 24, hopefully no Chinooks intervene.
  18. Yep it's too bad, Petermann will probably leave for greener pastures, he's a great backup but he's not displacing Demski or Woli. .
  19. Fajardo relies on quick timing routes a lot, Bomber D-backs will have to hit them at the line to disrupt their routes and cut off the throwing lanes.
  20. You assume they have a "web team", I assume they don't. They probably had someone set it up years ago who is now long gone, site basically runs on the ancient framework and if anything goes wrong they have to rely on outside help to resolve their problems.
  21. I like Petermann a lot, but Demski is a Ferrari, Petermann is a Jeep. Each has it's purpose but I'd choose the Ferrari over the Jeep every time.
  22. Calgary had some success running the ball yesterday, the Riders will try to duplicate that and will probably improve upon it with Powell and Thigpen, in the case Fajardo can't move the ball in the air Bombers have to be ready for the running game. Bighill was almost invisible again yesterday, Nevis, Jake and the Stove will have to have big games. Riders O-line is nowhere near as good as the Stamps so the D-line should be able to get pressure on whoever their QB is. Looking for Willie to have a huge game.
  23. Speaking of line play, what's up with the continued absence of Geoff Gray in the lineup, I'm not convinced his early-mid season play warrants him sitting at the bottom of the totem pole below Desjarlais, Speller and now Eli.
  24. Neither Gaitor or Rios played last game, they have already been replaced by Maston and Nick Taylor on the roster.
