  1. Spooner was just cut by the Esks. so it appears the Bombers made the right call on him.
  2. Apparently.....Lucky got lucky.
  3. Bloody easy to sign up for and at $4.99 USD/month cheaper than any other options available to Canadian cable cutters. Plus you get access to hundreds of other events you'd never consider watching.
  4. Whitehead pretty much did what I thought he would do last night, lot's of dancing, plenty of running sideways and backwards, convinced he can do it all on his own if only he could turn that elusive corner and access all that excess space. It's been tried before Lucky! There's no doubt he's an athletically talented individual with ultra blinding speed but sometimes that amount of raw talent is hard to harness and make it work well within a system. All of the dodging and darting he does makes it difficult for blockers in front of him to keep track of where he is and where he is heading. O'Shea commented on this very thing in a backhanded way when he praised Nelson for his straight-ahead returns on the OB post game show. If the Bombers do stick with Lucky as the returner I predict a roller-coaster ride of highs and lows covering the gamut of the spectrum with enough excitement and terror to induce heart attacks. I'd love for them to keep him around as a project until he can be broken and re-trained, but I don't think they can afford that luxury.
  5. Just another day, just another mass shooting in the USA. Police name Virginia Beach gunman who killed 12 before dying in gunfight https://www.cbc.ca/news/world/virginia-beach-shooting-1.5158740
  6. What's the point, the Bombers already have plenty of Natl. talent. I'd like to know the plan for Simonese and Petermann, if they don't find a way to use them they'll be gone in the off-season.
  7. With the current uncertainty of Foketi's status I think they need to quickly figure out who has the ability to backup both OT positions just in case he doesn't re-materialize. Secondarily it's nearing time to start looking for a potential cheaper replacement for Bryant.
  8. I've lived in both BC and AB, I agree about minimal selection in 95% of the private run liquor stores, they're like 7-11 for choice so I can't be bothered shopping at the smaller private stores. Also haven't noticed any savings between private stores and the BC owned chain with the better selection, all in all booze is expensive everywhere. Hard to find a 6-pack for under $12 and a 4L box of generic wine sells for around $40 taxes all in.
  9. I thought that was just the "blue poodle" version?
  10. That's what I find about most media produced by the 4 major league sports, massive amounts of regurgitation. I tried to watch an NFL produced video on the top 10 fastest players of all time recently, they had 10 minutes of actual player clips along with 20 minutes of regurgitation and explicating by various sports commentators, ex-players and other random no-name celebrities. Such utter bullshlit.
  11. You might be sorely disappointed, if they conducted an exit pole they'd probably discover that the majority of those kids have no idea what the event they just attended was, and the other customers who made the mistake of attending were too dazed to speak. I listened to the last half of the broadcast and all I could hear in the background was crazy randomized screaming.
  12. True enough, but I expect O'Shea to hold his position firmly until Walters presents him with the rational to adopt a different opinion.....which he will enthusiastically embrace whilst simultaneously griping about how much he hates to make tough personnel decisions. 😄
  13. Reminds me of a Paul Kariya interview I heard in the later years of his NHL career, full of questions and doubt.
  14. Jump to 6:10 of the following interview, shore sounds like a glowing endorsement for Jake. https://www.bluebombers.com/2019/05/27/coach-oshea-may-27/
  15. Damn, the coolest man ever.
  16. Foketi has officially become a "pretend player", after quietly practising not to play for two years, he's now perfected his transparency through complete absence.
  17. Can't keep everyone, set a number, keep the best, dump the rest. Currently sitting at 16.
  18. Any chance of sending any of them back to school?
  19. It almost comes down to who they can safely stash on the PR without risk of being swiped. With the current depth I think they will be forced to make 2 outright cuts.
  20. Darren Bauming has created a good series of one-on-one interviews with various Bomber players and coaches on TSN. https://www.tsn.ca/darrin-bauming-1.88464
  21. Be aware, Harper was a fan of the "for-profit prison" concept in Canada. File under, "create a crisis offer a solution". "In late October, though, news leaked from the Sampson panel suggesting that it was preparing to scrap statutory release, the virtually automatic discharge of prisoners under conditions similar to parole after they've served two-thirds of their sentences. Instead, "you'd have to show why you deserve to be released [at the two-thirds point]," a Canadian Press story quoted an unnamed source "familiar with the panel's report" as saying. "It'll put more people in [prison], so they're going to need more resources." This has stoked the privatization fears: that the Harper government's law-and-order agenda could unleash a crisis of overcrowding in prisons, and guess what the magical solution will be? Private prisons. There is just one catch: crime experts say all this–dramatically increased prisoner numbers, possible privatization of prisons, and get-tough measures, including increased and mandatory sentences–will probably make Canadian communities less safe, not more." https://www.straight.com/article-119340/stephen-harper-opens-door-to-prison-privatization
