Walters swung for the fences on Ellingson and Walker and whiffed, so it's a little hard to paint him as being fiscally prudent when he has attempted not to be.
-
Good, a chance to wrap up the week and announce the signings of Dressler and Nevis.
-
Fair price, give Manny a year to prove he's recuperated, if nothing else he helps with the downfield blocking.
-
Funny, Walters commented in his pre-F.A. press-conference rather negatively I thought about the trend of the top-tier players getting all of the extra cash while the rest play for min. contracts and yet here he is trying his damnedest to create that situation on his own club.
-
Week 20 in a loss against the Bombers Matthews went 5/113 yds., in the W.F. he went 3/39 yds. I'd take him at $160k.

Go stand beside an old man in a hat, good chance he picks up CJOB loud and clear.

I think Walters still plans to bring Dressler back, if he had no intention of doing so I think he would have released him well before F.A. opened out of courtesy, as he he did for Leggett, Randle and Wild and issued a statement at the same time thanking him for his service to the team, creating closure. Dressler deserves to be treated with class and I don't see this organization forgetting to do that. A possibility is that they may have already come to an agreement but are just holding back to announce his retirement and the launch of his entry into coaching. I would happily take him back for another year as either player or coach.

The CJOB/Global broadcast can be streamed on a smart phone.

I belieive White was here last T.C. and looked quite good, very smooth receiver and I believe he caught a long-ball TD in one of the pre-season games. Ultimately they decided to keep Thomkins as he is a more physical receiver.

I've heard you can convert a fax machine into a twitter machine but I don't know how to go about it. Good luck.

Dominique Rhymes.

Dressler hates losing, can't see the attraction for him.

Some Riderfans are calling for Willy...from a fetal position I presume. -
It's pretty clear the Bombers were going to lose Goosen and Chungh regardless, personal decisions lead to their departure. Walter's has probably known this scenario for months so hopefully he has a solid B-plan to limit the damage to the O-line and repair the ratio, I'd like to see him use some of the discovered savings to resign or replace Natls. rather than throw it at overpriced Imports at the top of their pay-scale.
-
I wonder how much Walters would be willing to offer Bo Lokombo to play WIL? Is $150,000 too much to solve two problems and would Lokombo sign for that amount?
-
Jeff Hamilton@jeffkhamilton As I noted in my free-agent preview over the weekend, the loss of Chungh will mean the #Bombers will start three Americans on the O-line. Manase Foketi to take over at right guard, with Geoff Gray battling for that spot, too.

I think people are taking ratio replacement far too lightly, Chungh and Goosen have been working in the trenches together for 4 years, Loffler has been an all-star for 3, Demski just completed his 4th year in the CFL. To think that they can all be easily replaced by the next Canuck standing in line pretty much ignores the 25 years of struggle and grief we witnessed when they couldn't find Natls. of equivalent value. To think overhauling the Natl. depth is now "instant breakfast" is ******* ludicrous! -
You might have a point, Walters categorizes money into position groups so this could explain why he spent on Bighill and cheaped out on JSK.
-
Christ, I hope it isn't because they plan to spend $200,000+ on Willy Jefferson.

I get that, one at a time is manageable but flipping 5 Natls. all at once is not going to be pretty, the learning curve for 3 of them is going to be "yuge". -

Woli. was already counted as a starter last season, so replacing Demski with Simonise or Peterman provides the same ratio balance as last year on offence supporting 3 Import receivers, as long as Grey and Couture can step in right away. Four Natl. backups replacing 4 Natl. starters from a year ago, I hope that's not the only plan. -

Losing a young Import player like JSK is not that concerning as there is a big supply to draw from, they just have to scout well and bring the right candidates in. What is more troubling to me is potentially losing 4 of the 7 Cdn. starters when it took a helluva long time to attain the quality Natl. depth they had last year. No quick fixes there. -
Of course they won't let him in, that right is reserved for Leaf players but Bo is free to watch them come and go if he likes.
