  1. I noticed late in a game a few weeks ago Yoshi was almost dragging one of his legs around to get back to the huddle, he may have chronic deterioration of a joint and might be hard-pressed to pass a medical even if after he rehabs. Won't be surprised if Riders ignore all evidence and employ him anyway to harvest their investment.
  2. Watson was a beast, case of a guy hitting so hard he always broke, same with Johnny Sears.
  3. I'd be surprised if Yoshi isn't gone for the season, I think he knew how bad the injury was as soon as it happened.
  4. With his knowledge of the game Kramdi is also a logical future replacement for BA at Safety, opening up the SAM spot for Cole, Parker or whoever steps up.
  5. Cauchy Muamaba agrees with the sentiment behind the policy!
  6. Case i guess, don't think they'll put him in as a receiver. Cole listed as ill on the injury report.
  7. Definitely, O'Shea is one of the few HC's that rarely discusses strategic issues on the field because he's not involved in the minutiae of decision making, he oversees but adds little. He's always going on about the mental state of the team and the philosophical ramifications of events around the team and how they affect the players emotionally. Really noticed that change the last two years.
  8. Jarious Jackson reporting for duty!!! 😄
  9. I don't get your point, you want to trade Castillo for Bede or think they're operating on the same level? Which nut cracks under pressure?
  10. That's what it looked like across the league this weekend, receivers left wide open rambling for huge gains.
  11. When all else fails, pull out all stops.
  12. More Kramdi bits, he doesn't sound like the typical player. Being resilient is one thing, but his football I.Q. is the biggest reason why the son of Algerian immigrants has been able to climb the ladder and not only start but excel at one of the most complicated positions on the field. It goes back to his time at the U Sports level when he played under head coach Danny Maciocia — the current general manager of the Alouettes. Every day, Maciocia would call up a handful of defensive players to the whiteboard at the front of the room and ask them to break down a specific play. Most could tell you what their position group should be doing, but all 12 players? Not a chance — unless it was Kramdi being asked. On one occasion, Maciocia went out of his way to test Kramdi with a complicated formation. He still managed to knock it out of the park. “That will always have a lasting effect on me, just the way he went up to the board, took charge, and explained it in detail. I remember vividly that people in that meeting room stood up and gave him a standing ovation,” said Maciocia. “It was really something that you typically don’t see, even at this level, this level we’re experiencing here this week.” Als safety Marc-Antoine Dequoy — the East Division’s nominee for Most Outstanding Canadian — played for the Montreal Carabins alongside Kramdi and had a similar take on his former teammate. “I’m always joking with him that when he chooses to retire that he’s going to be a coach or a scout, or a GM someday. He’s really, really into it and he loves it and he’s good at it. He’s got a great football eye. Watch for it, you’ll probably talk to him one day as a coach,” said Dequoy. “Let’s say you put in the tape from another Grey Cup or something. I mean, at one point, you’re going to look at your phone, but he’s always dialed in on the tape. He’s interested and wants to see what’s going to happen. There’s that curiosity in him that makes him great.” Bombers safety Brandon Alexander saw that from Kramdi from Day 1.“He’s one of the smartest guys I’ve been around, and I think he’s definitely one of the most underrated football players in the CFL. I’ve always advocated to find a way to put Redha on the field — for two years now, to be honest with you. Now that he has that chance, I’m excited for him, I’m happy for him,” said Alexander. https://www.winnipegfreepress.com/special/sports-editors-picks/2023/11/15/kramdis-on-field-success-brings-joy-to-his-grieving-family
  13. Castillo has moved around a lot but he was usually chasing dollars, he hasn't been cut often based on poor performance.
  14. Maybe statistically similar but careerwise Castillo has been more consistent and hasn't had as many serious misses as Bede leading directly to losing games. He's lost his job numerous times, been traded and bounced between punting and kicking, at times he's also struggled with extra point consistency. With his physical tools he maybe should have stuck to punting and kickoffs.
  15. Maybe Chris Jones believes that but apparently not.
  16. This Ed Tait article explains O'Shea's infatuation with Kramdi, he basically embodies everything O'Shea espouses about selflessness and playing for others. It's the same qualities that landed the Navy Seal a starting role last season, O'Shea often chooses character and intelligence over raw talent, he values these qualities as important components in building a strong team, which is the basis of his culture. https://www.bluebombers.com/2024/07/10/48-hour-primer-cal-at-wpg/
  17. Nah, he's always been a frustratingly inconsistent FG kicker, if he wasn't he'd still be in Mtl.
  18. BC never could handle Jeffcoat, in big games the D-line usually nailed Adams 4-6 times whenever he was in the lineup. Notice not many free wheeling DE's left in the league, most are pluggers that occasionally break through in the style of Lorenzo Mauldin.
  19. This game was never televised, but interestingly enough Brody mentions TSN transferred it from VHS tape borrowed from the CFL HOF to create this playback. This video looks to be 3 years old but maybe they could be petitioned to make the game available for download in some form, especially if a guy like Waders 27 gets involved. Don't get too excited, the video is only 11:15 long.
  20. That's your ongoing narrative, please find me a quote from Walters saying the same, I believe in the few interviews he gave he indicated he would like to see both Grant and Jeffcoat return.
  21. Another tidbit from that article. "For the record, Grant’s contract with the Argos will pay him $84,000 in hard money this season with playtime bonuses maxing out at $92,500, per source. It’s hardly a rich deal." Fiscal mismanagemnnt!!!
  22. Which spot? You can't just say they'll put him somewhere else without specifying who they're going to remove from the lineup. They have so many good DB's to allocate logistically the kindest way to deal with BA is to wait until he's injured before making the transition to Holm at Safety, which would make room for Parker or maybe Cole to take over his HB spot. Holm can fly so he should be used in the traditional role of Safety and not pretend to be a LB stopping the run or doling out punishment, he can leave that job to bigger DB's like Cole or Karamoko on demand.
  23. Parker may not get his job back coming off the IR for the second year running, Bonds may be better.
