  1. San Jose re-signed Kane in 2018 paying him $49 million on a 7 year contract, now I don't follow NHL hockey closely anymore other than the playoffs but that seems like an insane contract to offer a player who has never topped 30 goals has peaked and is now entering years of declining value.
  2. Frankly relieved Ray has finally decided to retire, the Argo O-line was unable to protect him well the last few years and he was never fleet of foot. He'd no sooner come back from one horrific injury only to be subjected to a gangland beating leading to his next horrific injury. It was too painful to watch. Glad he managed to pull off a G.C. win in 2017 but being close to a miracle, that should have been his last hurrah.
  3. Season 4 has been pretty inconsistent, worst season so far, I think they'll wrap it up in season 5 with the lot of them headed for the hoosegow, Sacker and Connerty may be the only survivors.
  4. CFL Headlines@CFL_Headlines CP Source: Argos quarterback Ricky Ray expected to announce retirement https://www.sportsnet.ca/football/cfl/cp-source-argos-quarterback-ricky-ray-expected-announce-retirement/ … CP Source: Argos quarterback Ricky Ray expected to announce retirement sportsnet.ca 33m
  5. Examining the draft records the most appalling thing about those drafts wasn't so much the picks Mack made (although they were bad enough) but round after round when the Bombers had no selections at all. Nice to see Joe now working his magic in the Als. war room.
  6. Don't forget Paul Swiston, at 6'-9" 342 lbs. he was hard to miss, along with Pencer and Sorensen they were supposed to be the towers the O-line was built around.
  7. In addition to an influx of abandoned wells many oil and gas companies are no longer paying taxes or landowners their lease rights. https://www.cbc.ca/news/business/trident-exploration-alberta-oilpatch-rma-surface-leases-1.5121507 "Under Alberta law, landowners can't refuse companies wanting to develop oil and gas below the surface of their land." Curious, not only are they irresponsible they're ******* immoral. "The Canadian Association of Petroleum Producers, which represents most oil and gas companies in the country, declined an interview request and said it was "unable to share any insight into this issue." Of course....
  8. Very good article on James Murphy, worth the read for the praise he heaps on Dieter Brock, Rick House and Joe Poplawski. https://www.bluebombers.com/2019/05/06/alumni-profile-james-murphy/?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=twitter
  9. I think the writing on the wall was there for Waggoner, he may have lasted as a ST player a bit longer but he couldn't crack the roster at WIL or Safety and that was on a fairly weak D at the time.
  10. I think the XFL will last at least twice as long as the AAF, they can't possibly be stupid enough to make the same mistakes.
  11. Your recent cut and paste format is deteriorating to the level of iHeart, there's virtually no information provided in this post that would tempt clicking on the links.
  12. There's no real evidence Streveler can read an offence other than finding the occasional uncovered receiver, he still has a long way to go to prove he's a legitimate #1 QB IMO. His style is reminiscent of a young Reilly who relied heavily on his athletic ability as a runner in his early years, not so much now days and he's better for it as it's a necessary transition. I'd prefer he emerge this year as a young Collaros, good mobility in the backfield but with the smarts to use his athleticism to expand the field and buy receivers more time instead of just bull rushing his opponents.
  13. Corney's retirement is not official, Walters mentioned it in passing but Corney has never acknowledged it. I wouldn't be surprised if he made a comeback after rehabbing his injuries, he's an athletic fanatic who's not likely to quit. Could well be that he pursues a more lucrative career than CFL football to exploit his athleticism, he might become a gorgeous wrastler.
  14. Comedy gold. Kenney followed the rules by claiming mom's basement as primary residence, board decides. https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/calgary/jason-kenney-primary-residence-mp-expense-1.5120002 Dear Mom lives in a retirement home that doesn't allow subletting.....oops.
  15. Got to love this kid. Runs like a young Andrew Harris.
  16. Permafrost is thawing in the Arctic so fast scientists are losing their equipment "Climate scientists have assumed a slow, steady erosion of permafrost and a similar pace of carbon release. Turetsky and her colleagues found something different. Instead of a few centimetres of thaw a year, several metres of soil can destabilize within days. Landscapes collapse into sinkholes. Hillsides slide away to expose deep permafrost that would otherwise have remained insulated." "Soil analysis found those quickly thawing areas also contain the most carbon. Nearly 80 per cent of them hold at least 70 kilograms of carbon per cubic metre. That suggests permafrost is likely to release up to 50 per cent more greenhouse gases than climate scientists have believed. As well, much of it will be released as methane, which is about 30 per cent more efficient at trapping heat than carbon dioxide." https://www.cbc.ca/news/technology/permafrost-melting-1.5119767
  17. TSN ✔@TSN_Sports Hockey Hall of Famer and legend Red Kelly has passed away at the age of 91. Take your pick of Reds, they're all dead.
  18. I like him too! LaPo could make good use of a Nik Lewis type monster inside to replace Dressler and save wear and tear on Harris. Throwing him out on the boundary would be a complete waste.
  19. Barr no-show causes chaotic scene in House Good exchange, the function of government institutions must be respected as they're preservation is more important than current politics.
  20. For $100 million I would hope so, problem is I don't see even $10 million in material costs, unless of course those cables are spun with gold. "The cost estimate for the project has jumped to $97.8 million from the original $75 million, the conservancy said in a news release Monday. The increase is due to multiple factors, including a one-year delay in construction and the overall design complexity of The Leaf, it said." Building it may be complex, designing it was not with computer aided design, at this point I'm screaming NFW and waving red flags!!!
  21. They also have Maxx Forde.
  22. Kyle Walter pre-draft press conference live broadcast. https://www.pscp.tv/w/1kvJpOzZonQGE
  23. Sure, but this article is focused on the problems the oil sands are facing. The US has converted their import facilities on the gulf coast into export facilities due to the glut created from fracked oil , so expanding pipeline capacity does not guarantee increased demand for any of our oil products.
  24. Kenney got himself elected, now what? Belot: Albertans have been fooled by a myth about pipelines and the oilsands https://www.nationalobserver.com/2019/04/23/opinion/belot-albertans-have-been-fooled-myth-about-pipelines-and-oilsands
  25. Great map. Case in point, Canada with a population of 36.6 M produces more CO2 emissions than Mexico with a population of 129.1 M and Brazil with a population of 209.2 M.
