  1. I'm convinced Jones has thrown in the towel and is looking to get out of his Rider contract before next year's salary restrictions cut into his pie, a 1-7 start will virtually finish him off.
  2. I'm disappointed they are not using either Demski or LaFrance more as a distraction like they used Flanders, not enough activity in the backfield leaving Harris to fend for himself. When the other teams can key on Harris exclusively it's not hard for them to limit his carries to a 4 yd. average as he's not that elusive.
  3. Riders were within 2 pts. of the Als at one point late in the 4th Q. in a sold out Mosaic stadium in a town where people really don't have much else to talk about and yet Jones at no point thinks to put Bridge back in the game to try to salvage a victory. Bridge is not much of a QB imo. but there is no doubting his physical ability, he can throw the ball a mile and he can run like the wind. Somewhere in his mixed bag of QB skills and experience I believe he had the wherewithal to put together enough plays to defeat the Als. and yet Jones decided early on not to explore that possibility and pissed away the second half playing Watford.
  4. Unbelievable they keep marching him out there, one day soon he'll be gone for good and the Al's. will begin their ascscent.
  5. Bit of a chicken/egg scenario your're creating. If the Offence wants more time on the field they need to produce first downs consecutively, not look to the D to give them the ball back just so they can go right back out and squander another opportunity with a 2 and out. Obviously they lost as a team but considering the temp. at field level last night was extreme with added high humidity these conditions exacerbate the T.O.P. difference and once the front 7 were bagged, the DB's were basically left on their own at the hands of Masoli.
  6. Unless there are other roster issues to deal with, I think it's clear that Lankford offers more consistency and has more break away potential than Moe as a K.R..
  7. Are they running wide sweeps to honour the memory of Jay Washington? If so please don't desecrate his memory.
  8. Cause he's a good player and always has been, maybe watch him actually play the game instead of spouting the groupthink line.
  9. Yah, you can pick them out because the Japanese players have really short legs, but so did Normie Kwong and he did alright.
  10. Problem is we have willingly allowed ourselves to be swallowed up by American marketing and culture which in turn has diminished Canadian culture. Canadians have now been programmed to believe that in the U.S. everything is bigger, badder and better. Look in the IGF end-zone, a giant sign proclaiming Budweiser to be the world's greatest beer, anyone with half a brain knows that message is patently false, but sooner or later people begin to believe the messages they're beat over the head with daily, that's how marketing works.....just turn off your brain and follow.
  11. This seems unbelievably stupid, Jones isn't dealing with an unexpected rash of injuries, this is a crisis entirely of his own making. He has managed his personnel so poorly, that as it stands he has absolutely no depth at key positions and is still auditioning mystery players at starting positions going into week 3 of the season. If I didn't suspect the man to be a complete imbecile, I would think him to be a Captain attempting to burn his own ship down to the waterline. Are Rider fans still drinking this kool-aid?
  12. Fixed it for you.
  13. Finally had the chance to watch the Esk./Ti-Cat game last night and noticed a few things about the Ti-Cats. -Masoli is super slippery and relies on quick feet to buy time in the pocket, that along with a very good arm is a potent combination. I predict that Manziel is never going to beat him out as the starting QB in Hammertown, he's just that good. -Tasker=Dressler. Both receivers play the same game, searching out the soft spots in the D and helping their QB's out in difficult situations, kinda like "Santa's little helpers". -Timmis broke out last game, he's big and can gallop like a frickin' horse if not contained to the inside lanes, once he gets past the LB's he's tough to stop. This dude can also pass-protect, nice find. -Big target Toliver is back and should cause problems for shorter DB's roped into covering him one on one, I think he could be the most underrated receiver in the league next to Darvin. -June Jones offence is unlike any other in the league and does an excellent good job mixing the running game with the passing game. A couple of things I noticed, Jones often uses Landon Rice as an extra O-lineman on passing plays which makes it look like a double TE set. Jones also makes extensive use of blocking back Whitlock in the backfield often at the same time the extra O-lineman is on the field which makes rushing 4 destined for failure. If the Bombers want to cause Masoli any grief, they're going to have to rely on stunts and blitzing LB's and DB's to do so. -Ti-Cat D looks solid under the ageless Gerry Glanville (Steinauer supervising), excellent corners in Breaux and Leonard although it looks like Leonard may miss this game. Solid LB's with Dean flanked by Lawrence and marvelous Don Unamba at dime. Nothing special about their D-line pressure other than having Laurent in the middle they shouldn't be able to get much pressure on Streveler as long as the O-line does it's job properly.
  14. Yep, LaPo or Steinauer could be the top candidates.
  15. That is a problem, but it lies two years and two G.C. victories down the road.
  16. Mike Reilly
  17. The more the merrier, much better than having no content and no discussion which is the case for many CFL teams. I personally like the Hodge Bros. podcast and applaud them for taking the time and energy to produce it. In general people who contribute the least to a cause are usually the first to ***** about people who contribute the most.
  18. Yah, now that Lankford is on the P.R. Gaitor is the next man goat up.
  19. Ya lost me...
  20. In order to become a starter Bennett has to get to #2 first and that opportunity seems to have evaporated with the arrival of Streveler. His only hope is to hang around like Vernon Adams did until the right opportunity presents itself somewhere down the road, and that takes quite a lot of perseverance to see it through. He's probably on a 1 year deal so I'd expect he will choose to move on to another club as a F.A. after this season. There seems to be an abundance of openings across the league for good #2 prospects, I really like his play so I hope it works out.
  21. "I'm just pretending to look crazy." "I'm not."
  22. True, and I think the main reason is to preserve their health by protecting them in the pocket, without their #1 QB most teams are sunk.
  23. Apparently you are right, I don't want to turn this into "he said/she said" so I'll let you win this one, but be warned, my wife can tell you all about "no-win contests" of which I am the reigning champion.
  24. I believe mini-camp=rookie camp, they are one and the same.
