  1. Sending out only 3 receivers doesn't help when none of them can get open. Their O scheme is based on outstanding receivers making outstanding catches, shut that down or pressure Reilly and they're almost as toothless as Sask.
  2. Both Solly and Lulay expected back shortly. The BC Lions could have linebacker Solomon Elimimian and quarterback Travis Lulay back from injury this week, in time for their next game against the division-leading Calgary Stampeders. According to TSN's Farhan Lalji, Elimimian will get final imaging and hopefull clearance to play on Tuesday, while Lulay is also optimistic about being able to play next week.
  3. That's pretty much what Demski already is, Durie rarely ran the ball, returned kickoffs sometimes, and was also injury prone.
  4. Free-lancing only goes so far, Manziel is either too stupid to learn the playbook or he's relied on winging it for so long he doesn't know how else to attack a D.
  5. Manziel looks decent but he has to progress beyond running broken plays every second snap, no O is going to sustain drives if they are constantly ad-libbing, luck only goes so far.
  6. Hopefully the CFLPA sees the AAF as a legitimate threat to their well-being and works with the CFL to formalize a sound strategy, rather than against it.
  7. If this new league can prove to be sustainable over 2-3 years the CFL will take a big hit with their Imports but it won't pave the road to a NFL career anymore than the CFL currently does. For mid-level talent players like Wolitarsky and others choosing to play in this new league will come down to $$ and preferred location, for un-drafted graduates of US College football or recent NFL cuts it will probably supplant the CFL as the most obvious destination to pursue their careers. One thing the CFL can do to combat the outflow is ensure all of their player facilities and benefits are top of the line and each team's football program is run at a high professional standard across the league. Making the CFL a "nice place" to play football will go a long way to retaining vets. who have already given the NFL a go and are happy to play professional football in a good environment.
  8. This is his 4th year with the club, so I'm not sure when his current contract expires, just an example. A large portion of the roster is headed for F.A. including some long-term vets.
  9. Bob was referring to this coming off-season when half the team becomes F.A.'s, they could potentially lose JSK, Alexander, Jeffcoat, Goosen, etc. so Walters has a huge amount of undesignated money to spend, but he said his number one priority would be to re-sign Bighill.
  10. Perhaps this has something to do with it, Walters said on the CJOB pre-game show that they over-extended themselves to sign Bighill and were prepared to do whatever was needed to make it work.
  11. No, he's still on the 6 game I.R.
  12. I really question why Wally or Hervey let so many decent players walk last year during F.A. considering their current luke-warm status, Fenner, Purifoy, Gaitor, Roh, Ronnie Yell, even Chris Williams.... it must have been an ill-advised attempt to clean house and start fresh. I bet Wally and Hervey take turns kicking each other in the nutsack for not finding a way to re-sign Bighill, with Solly out for most of the season.
  13. I probably shouldn't speculate without knowledge of the industry but most likely a large corporation who purchases the milk, processes and packages it, and "brands" it for sale in grocery stores. Economics of scale, it is not worth their while to deal with small producers.
  14. Is it too much to ask to at least post a name, and let us decide if we want to pursue the link? Thanks.
  15. For some strange reason this is the first thing that came to my mind. Peasant 1: Who's that there? Peasant 2: I don't know... Must be a king... Peasant 1: Why? Peasant 2: He hasn't got **** all over him. ----------------------- Arthur: I am your king! Woman: Well I didn't vote for you! Arthur: You don't vote for kings. Woman: Well how'd you become king then? [Angelic music plays...] Arthur: The Lady of the Lake, her arm clad in the purest shimmering silmite held aloft Excalibur from the bosom of the water, signifying by divine providence that I, Arthur, was to carry Excalibur. THAT is why I am your king! Dennis interrupting: Listen, strange women lyin' in ponds distributin' swords is no basis for a system of government! Supreme executive power derives from a mandate from the masses, not from some farcical aquatic ceremony! ----------------------- Dennis: Oh, but you can't expect to wield supreme executive power just because some watery tart threw a sword at you! ----------------------- Dennis: Oh but if I went 'round sayin' I was Emperor, just because some moistened bint lobbed a scimitar at me, they'd put me away! ----------------------- Dennis: Help! Help! I'm being oppressed! Violence inherent in the system! Violence inherent in the system!
  16. H.H. to the impeccable Justin Medlock, the most boring kicker in CFL history. Not only did he put up a boatload of pts. he also assisted on a tackle.
  17. What fer we need a face-mask???
  18. This name sounds so familiar but can't place it, the Bombers had a big DE or OG named Kenny "something" a couple of years back, can anyone remember his last name?
  19. Collins has been available multiple times for bottom dollar, once they crossed his name off the list they weren't looking back. Same with Thorpe.
  20. Exactly, the same attitudes still exist today in large pockets that have been present throughout their history, the corruption at the top has existed since the very beginning and they're reluctant to make progress to alter that hierarchy because the benefits of this system of government flow freely up. By televising the Kavanaugh hearing they exposed their bones by opening a window into how they select a supreme court judge and low and behold there is nothing to witness beyond naked nepotism at work.
  21. Having spent 5 years living in the USA I'm not convinced it hasn't always been this way. None of the recent events have surprised me much, it's just a bit more repugnant now that their great leader is trumpeting these values openly.
  22. I find this hard to believe, driving around rural BC I come across cookie-cutter dairy operations wherever I go, not saying all dairy farms are like this but there sure are a lot of them and none more than 20 years old. Modern dairy barn out back and a big house for multiple families with a swimming pool up front, always the same layout. I assumed the house was set up as temporary accommodations for dairy workers and maybe their families as they never have the usual accoutrements lying about that go along with a house or a real farm that is permanently occupied by one family. Sure looks corporate to me.
  23. When asked about what they did differently in the Esks, game in his interview yesterday, Hall basically said the players just executed better but it was the same game plan, same number of blitzes were called but better results. https://www.bluebombers.com/2018/10/02/richie-hall-october-2/
  24. Congratulations you've come to the realization that football isn't life or death and life goes on with or without the Bombers, in the end it's just sports entertainment, and following the team is little more than a pastime or a hobby. I grew up a fanatic Bomber and Jets fan but I had at least a 10 year spell of college, career development and chasing various women when following sports closely or taking time out to watch sports or television was not a practical use of time, it only gets worse when you start a family. In time you'll probably settle down, find some spare time and migrate back to what is enjoyable for you. Good luck on your journey.
  25. Good to know, rarely purchase beef anymore.
