  1. Both Wolitarsky and Petermann look to be physical receivers who are going to help clear out areas and make more room for the high speed receivers and the RB's, the upgrade of Natl. receiver talent this year looks nothing short of amazing.
  2. Streveler reminds me of a young Mike Reilly but smarter in that he doesn't just heave the ball down field in desperation like Reilly used to do while running for his life. No QB can last long running like a bull, Reilly has figured this out in the last couple of years and now picks his spots much more wisely, hopefully LaPo will emphasis this to Streveler and force him to slide.
  3. Football needs to adjust it's culture before society adjusts it for them. The toll of the game is enormous for the participants and the concept of destroying an opponent by using max. force and intimidaton is outdated and is no longer tolerated in any other team sport. The object of tackling is primarily to stop an opponent from advancing the ball, not to try to kill or maim them. Football is a strategic game it needs to emphasis the movement of the ball, the speed and skills of the game more and the big hits less. It can survive if they acknowledge, accept and adjust the rules of the game that need to be made and do not fight against them. If every check thrown in hockey was done to create max. damage to the opponent it would destroy the flow of the game and the skilled players that advance the sport would have very short careers.
  4. If those emails are authentic, I'd take them seriously, they'll come after you for a ridiculous amount of money and you'll have no defense. It happens.
  5. Perhaps these camps were not cost effective in terms of the number of qualified players they produced. Which could be a discovery of Ambrosie's forensic accounting initiative.
  6. The vast majority of mini-camp players are cut in main camp anyway so it's not like a lot of them ever become P.A. members. I wonder if the P.A. looks at these camps as an unfair advantage rookies have over their members to steal their jobs, if so bizzare logic.
  7. An injury or two this season and Dressler will make the decision himself in the offseason. It would send the wrong message if Walters cut him to save a few bucks.
  8. Why? The mini camps seemed to be an excellent venue for initiating rookies to the CFL game.
  9. That's basically what the Esks. did with him and in the end they gave away Nichols, lost Franklin and are one injury removed from starting Glenn.
  10. I think Gaitor will be out of the lineup against Hamilton, looked to have hurt his hamstring late in the game. If Mo gets the full-time gig in his place I can see them bringing Lankford back for KR duties.
  11. The Charleston Hughes experiment is done, they can get equal performance at better value from Brooks. It's a proven concept!
  12. I don't know if they would ever consider doing this unless there was a need but with the receivers they now have under contract it may be plausible sometime in the future to start 3 Natl. receivers. If Simonise can deliver on his potential, he may well be a future replacement for Bowman and it isn't much of a stretch to think that Petermann could be groomed to replace Dressler and his quirky route running.
  13. I expect this narrative to begin this week over on Riders Fans. "Streveler the solution to all our problems!". It will continue on for two years running, ending in heartbreak and the triumphant return of Kevin Glenn. 😊
  14. I believe the CFL is punishing these hits even if the refs. miss them on field and has been for at least the last couple of years, wait until the "fines of the week" are announced to see if Muamba doesn't receive extra notice for that violation. That being said hopefully Ambrosie puts more teeth into the penalties and increases them from a few thousand $$ to actual game suspensions for serious violations.
  15. The only way Nichols loses the starting job is over this fella's dead body. Mike ain't into no ******* mind-games.
  16. Agreed, I could never figure the hype behind Gable in Hamilton and was surprised when the Esks. took him on. They had a better running game when they had White and that other small back but of course injuries decimated them.
  17. I was just trying to recall the last time the Bombers received a humiliating beat-down like the Riders endured and came up blank. It must have been before the Nichols era as it seems every loss in the last few years has been reasonably close. Such a relief not have to be on the receiving end of blowouts any longer.
  18. Not that I'm at all interested in helping them out, but here's a "who me?" candidate.
  19. Last night was also a confirmation that Bridge is not ready to be a starter in this league anytime soon. Other than ad-lib runs he does not work well within a structured offensive plan and seems to have no clue when and when not to pass the ball to his receivers. He has all of the physical tools required to be a good QB, but the mental tools he needs to interpret the game remain largely unrefined.
  20. ORB's looked pretty good for their first game out, new D and the offence looked potent and creative. Should be a major team to contend with this season which I don't think anyone would have predicted.
  21. Why are the RB's not giving Davis some reps.?
  22. Duron Carter has received an absolute discharge after pleading guilty to the first of two marijuana-possession charges in Wpg. court. http://3downnation.com/2018/06/21/riders-duron-carter-receives-absolute-discharge-first-two-pot-charges/
  23. He's got the arm....
  24. 😋 I know where you're going.
  25. Adams has had some rotten luck for sure. Just perusing the Stamps roster and hard to believe but the only QB they have on the active roster behind Mitchell is some guy named Nick Arbuckle, they have another unknown on their P.R. named Larry Brihm, that's it, that's all. If BLM goes down this year they are sunked.
