3 stars turds and maybe a glimmer of hope
Fatty Liver replied to wbbfan's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
The whole team rested on their laurels, even the veteran players have yet to accept that a multitude of teams have surpassed them in ability. They're still in denial that they are being outplayed and think it's somehow all going to fall into place one of these days. Staying on top is so difficult to balance, it's pretty much impossible. -

Zach's contract was restructured but not reduced due to underperforming like some other QB have been forced to accept, such as T. harris when he went to Mtl. from Edm. Zach is likely headed for a steep reduction in pay next season for this years performance, but if I was Walters I'd think long and hard about hitching my wagon to Zach even at a reduced cost, paying him less isn't going to miraculously make him a better QB. He's got about 6 more games to prove he still has the power of victory flowing through his veins. -

Hamilton is an amazingly bad football team for the talent they have on their roster, something is deeply wrong with that organization. -
Secondary targets is a good description for the receivers Collaros ignores, he was so focused on Demski and Woli, he would have kept throwing to them over and over again until they too end up injured.
-
As we've seen recently Collaros has a penchant to throw to familiar faces, despite the amount of time Agudosi spent on the club Zach never embraced him and rarely threw a ball his way. A QB should not pick favourites, he should be a vessel to move the ball efficiently through wherever it needs to go. By continually ignoring certain receivers Zach short-circuits Buck's game plan with diminished results.

If he can stay off the field long enough he might reach the status of Stove. -
If the Bombers are digging into their past I'd take Ellingson over Whitehead, smarter, more reliable, better possession receiver and bigger target, doesn't need to catch 40 yd. bombs just needs to secure first downs. If they don't want Ellingson, find someone else with those assets.

Trent Corney??? He played DE and quit on his own accord, do you disparage random names from the past just because you can recall them? Same with Malcolm Thompson, he won the Safety job out of TC and was moved on from for undisclosed reasons, but it wasn't his play. -

Nobody mentions the short-armed struggler to the left abandoning his post allowing a 350 lb. behemoth clear passage to destroy Collaros, it looked like he just missed his bus and had to run after it. Zach attempting to play the game 3 receivers short because he doesn't trust anyone new and can only track one or two receivers on any given play. He's never been a reader, going through progressions has never been his bag. -

No Kidding, probably the best candidate if they haven't burned that bridge. -

There are a bunch of experienced CFL receivers one year removed from playing not on a current roster, Brescacin, Ellingson, Wieneke, Shaq Evans, Cam Phillips, Whitehead, Derel Walker, all who will add more than a raw rookie. Bombers need temporary relief delivered fast. -

My confusion is based on all the great playmakers at LB they disposed of quickly and why they would hold onto the one who's made only minor contributions on ST. Is Ayers destined to be a replacement for Bighill or Wilson, why is he the chosen one? -

With all the great LB prospects brought in for TC, Ayers is left as the last man standing? Maybe it's just me, but I've watched all games played so far multiple times and can't recall a single play he's made. -

Was wondering that as well, heard the field was still pretty bouncy and had a lot of give, it's a crazy idea but may be there is some correlation to the injuries. 3-4 years ago the Riders also had an outbreak of leg injuries at the start of TC, could be they were turf related? You're not incorrect, Fajardo and Adams have both demonstrated the benefits of being able to run when necessary, even MBT is getting in on the act. -

Have you really forgotten who Zach is and his history with concussions? Intentionally running the ball should never be in the game plan, in fact he should be fined every time he does so. -

What's with the arbitrator? I thought stuff was usually hashed out between the CFL and the CFPA, is the CFLPA fighting the suspension or is it because Lemon appealed the sentence? -

Anytime you see Holm in high gear chasing down some receiver with a 5 yd. lead you have to wonder if Ford interpreted his assignment correctly. -

It was certainly the case last game, completely ignored 2 of his receivers until Schoen went down, after which Wilson received 4 attempts, Wheatfall and whoever replaced him received zero looks. -

Berryhill is going to be fantastic in BC, he'll likely be their ROTY candidate. Wilson needs a QB that can throw him the ball like Trevor Harris or V.A., Zach relies on a couple of favourites and ignores the rest, ask BOLO or Agudosi, Might be untenable now that he's down to 2 familiar receivers. -
