  1. I thought Bowman retired last year? Good player but this is a pretty obvious position that Kavis could have used an infusion of younger blood. I will be literally amazed if Reed is still the Als GM by game 6.
  2. Now that would be hilarious.
  3. I haven't been following Jake (or anyone else) on Twitter, is he disgruntled?
  4. Just means they will have to find a replacement that will probably cost them more $$, unless Ekakitie can handle the rotation by himself.
  5. He has to be the longest serving Bomber with Denmark now gone, he's been around since 2012.
  6. I find it hard to believe Jake will end up anywhere else, he's a good fit and he doesn't cost much.
  7. Just my opinion but old blue dogs with glaucoma taste better than KFC.
  8. I loved how LeFevour ran 3rd down gambles last year, in that he wasn't just plunging he was looking for holes to exploit and he always found them. Durant used to be able to do that but I haven't seen much of it in the last 3-4 years. Eliminate Bond from the equation and 3rd down gambles may actually become "3rd down gambles".
  9. I don't recall seeing Poop and Nevis on the field together very often, it was usually one or the other but at least it was nice to finally have both of them dressing for games consistently towards the end of the year. I think the plan going into last year was to rotate the DT positions between Nevis, Ekakite and Thomas leaving the MLB position open to Knox or another Import. After the emergence of Poop in TC they quickly changed their minds and reverted to plugging Hurl in at MLB, hoping the heavy horses at DT could help clog up the middle and shut down the running game. I think that part of the plan worked reasonably well or at least better than it did in 2016 when Shologan and Cummings were playing those positions.
  10. Eddie Steele would probably be an upgrade over Thomas at DT and would be cheaper than Evans.
  11. Dave Campbell @Dave_CHED #Eskimos GM Brock Sunderland says he has had extensive conversations with pending free-agent LB Adam Konar. Mentioned he has some Canadian depth behind Konar. Could also flip the WIL LB to an American spot with Korey Jones or Terrance Bullitt. #CFL Dave Campbell @Dave_CHED Replying to @Dave_CHED Reading between the lines, Konar likely hits free-agency on Tuesday. Not sure he's coming back. #Eskimos #CFL
  12. Anyone know if Bond has gotten any NFL tryouts? I'd hate to see him suit up for a long career with another CFL team.
  13. Yep, hopefully they make a good run this year and have replacements lined up when they're done. I'd like to see at least two new receivers emerge from T.C. that will be ready to step into key roles for next year.
  14. To feed Bowman a lot of balls LaPo is going to have to readjust his O scheme and Nichols will have to relax his sphincter muscles and start chucking the ball, accepting that more interceptions will follow.
  15. Criner had a couple of impressive games with the RB's in the second half of the season but overall his numbers were mediocre. This may indicate he's ready to break out and establish himself or it may mean he's an inconsistent performer. Either bargain or bust, he's got the physical tools but it's not a given that he would be the impact receiver the Bombers need to add this season.
  16. I don't know what the Esks. plan to do with their ratio but the only other Natl. option they have at LB is Cory Greenwood, so I'd be surprised if they let Konar walk after already signing Sherritt to play MLB.
  17. It's only lunch time, probably about a fifth.
  18. Plus he attempted to smuggle it across an Intl. border, that's the bigger issue IMO.
  19. Listen, if you can't get excited by the strategic importance of these charges you don't hate the Riders nearly enough.
  20. Hughes has been silent about suiting up for the Riders so far, I pray he's seriously contemplating retirement.
  21. Until Couture plays multiple complete games competently at OG I'm not sold on the concept that he is a reliable backup at this point. We've seen too many Natl. O-lineman with better size come and go over the years who did not achieve success in the CFL despite having multiple years to develop as understudies. Forgive me if I'm a deeply scarred cynic with a bad case of Drew Willy happy feet and still haunted by Max Hall's infernal pain but as I recall, there was "what's his name?", "what's his name?" and that other "what's his name?", all Natls. with the size of Goliath that never amounted to the value of an over-ripe hill of beans.
  22. I guarantee even after they make pot legal, it will still be an offence to bring "unauthorized pot" into the country through an airport.
  23. A gold star to the first commissioner that is able to make teams follow league rules to the tee. It's preposterous that in a small 9 team league like the CFL the end game is often to subvert their own rules to gain an advantage over their partners or to try to keep up with half the teams that subvert the rules and hide it. If they don't want to follow the rules they have in place, agree to adjust the rules to fit the circumstance and the reality of their game.
  24. All Heath needs is one other team to make a more generous offer and he's gone, in lieu of that possibility picking up Gaitor seems like a smart move. Doesn't mean he makes the squad (Korey Banks) but he does add to the competition.
