I think Bennett just started practicing this past week, so he is way behind and was mostly relying on his athletic ability. As for Streveler a bit from column A a bit from column B, no surprise he looked like a raw rookie and didn't seem to be able to read the field very well so he resorted to a lot of dump offs and relied on his legs a bit too much. First series he threw a nice ball right into the hands of a BC defender for a quick pick-6 which probably rattled his psych a little bit.

I think the only Nichols injury ensures is that the Bombers are unlikely to earn a home playoff game.

It could well be that Davis just got sick of hanging around with no hope of ever starting in sight and they did him a favour by cutting him. It has to be the bane of all QB's sitting behind an entrenched starter especially under a coach like O'Shea that never shows signs of deviation. I imagine if Foketi or Flanders ever became disgruntled with their backup status they would do them the favour by setting them free.

Not expecting a miracle, I'd be happy if they got through this stretch at 2-4 but I won't be very surprised if the record is worse. The Bombers opponents don't exist in suspended animation, they are all striving to get better each year as well. No new coaching staffs, no massive turn-overs or rebuilds, other than the Als it doesn't look like there are any particularly weak sisters this season and even they may surprise.

Admittedly it is a bit limp.

I honestly can't recall the last time a D decisively shut down a half decent O, gave up less than 20 pts. and won the game on their own merit, those memories seem to be from a different era when teams relied more heavily on the running attack. The only recent examples I can think of is when a team is handicapped by inexperienced or pathetic QB play and spends the majority of the game going 2 and out and giving the ball away consistently, do those really count as staunch D victories? I'd like to see a D dominate a game to the point of winning it, but I won't believe it's a viable possibility until I do.

Well Ross did post a -4.2 QB efficiency rating last year so it can't be all hype.
