Everything you said is true to an extent but I will add that for the most part they enjoy much richer social and family lives than most N. Americans, perhaps because they have little else, lower expectations and are not addicted to electronic technology or our manic productivity goals. I spent a month in Bolivia with a class mate in the 90's who was financially set well above the mean but had plenty of family and friends who were not and they shared common characteristics, misery was not one of them that I ever picked up on. It didn't matter what day of the week it was and whether they had to work the next day or not, every night was dedicated to socializing (not just drinking) in some form or other and a night sitting on the couch surfing the tube in off-mode was never considered reasonable entertainment, no matter how exhausted I was. They absolutely have more fun than we do and after that trip I couldn't help but think our society is the one to be pitied for programming it's citizens to perform like worker-bot automotons striving for unachievable goals in the delusion that they will somehow bring us more success, more possessions and with them greater happiness. The movie "About Schmidt" with Jack Nicholson summarizes this futility a lot better than I can.........sopped as I am I think I might be channeling Buddha.

With a little help from the CIA this one can be pinned on Richie Hall.

I don't think there is a receiver in the league worth $200,000, I'd set the upper limit for that position at $175,000. I'd also reset the clock on QB salaries and make the max payout $350,000 so there could be more money for other players. If they don't like it they can find another pro football league to play in.

Hard to determine with all of the injuries they suffered.

Not that important, if he comes to WPG. his main priority should be familiarizing himself with the bench way off in the far corner of the field and how it feels to be glued to his ass. Doesn't say much about this regime's ability to scout and recruit QB prospects if after 4 years all we have to look forward to is the possibility of acquiring Glenn or Durant. Wherefore art though Danny Mac?
-
The real issue is money, the rest is just rationalization for moving on from him. If Randle is earning $140k or more and Heath is earning less than $100k, I can understand him wanting to cash in, he's paid his dues and has earned his pay day.

Here is Walters interview with Naylor. https://www.tsn.ca/cfl/video/mountainside-chats-with-dave-naylor-kyle-walters~1299746

Reed missed out on Collaros, I doubt he has a realistic shot at acquiring Manziel and now he's playing hardball with Durant without any other starting QB option in sight if you dismiss Drew Willy. It doesn't seem possible but Kavis has maneuvered the Als into a worse position now than they were one year ago at this time.

It looks like league meetings now underway in Banff, Naylor appears to be interviewing all GM's. Good stuff.
-
It's clear Richie is 10 ply, O'Shea is more like 4 ply.

" Hamilton also graciously gave me permission to discuss potential trade options with at least one other club. Johnny and I met with those executives in Texas to discuss their organization and thoughts on Johnny's market and value around the CFL. " So who was this team and why do I suspect it was the Riders pre-Collaros? Just another d-bag American agent that thinks his client is going to come in and dominate the CFL in his first year.

I thought Marouf was the guy that got kicked out of school after one year for academic reasons and the Bombers found him playing in a beer league in S. Ont.? The following You Tube video is the highlight of his career so far.
-
I'm surprised to see Marouf actually taking up a roster spot, thought he was just a project player that nobody else wanted.
-
Sorry, I thought he missed at least 6 games in 2016, guess that was just Wild.
-
Perhaps the difference this year will be if a player goes rogue and fails they'll have to explain it to O'Shea, not Hall.
-
Wild and Leggett are in the same boat, both are great when healthy but the last few seasons their participation has been sketchy. There's not going to be much loose change left in the kitty when F.A. opens.

I would hope that the "eye in the sky" becomes the tool it has the potential to be and communicates with the on-field officials to overturn egregious calls immediately. Jesus works that way, why can't they?
-
I wouldn't read too much into that decision, I think the Calgary game was a special circumstance as they needed to lock up second place. They knew Mitchell and a lot of the Stamps starters would not be playing, they knew the weather was going to be sloppy crap and they were going to keep the ball on the ground for most of the game. They had both Harris and Flanders in the backfield so choosing LeFevour with his running ability to execute that game plan over Davis is not a stretch. Best of all it worked out exactly as planned.
-
I agree, I've seen LeFevour move the ball effectively in the past and believe he has the skill-set and brain power to be an effective #2 QB. Almost every passing play he ran last year was designed to throw the ball at full gallop to surprise the defender, I think if they expanded his responsibilities and options and let him settle down they could get decent results from him.
-
I'd take LeFevour over Durant or Glenn based solely on their sideline demeanor. Durant Glenn LeFevour
-
That's Clifton Clowers dammit.
-
From his perspective as a prime Natl. DE, I can't see why he would accept a discount after putting in two solid years of service and establishing himself as a team leader.
-
I'm just as surprised, change usually requires a cap victim or two.
-
I wonder if they promised Foketi some playing time to get him to re-sign or if he's just happy to be on the payroll and willing to wait for an opportunity. Either way, great to have him back.

Doug Brown speculating, Richie Hall stays and we've seen the last of Heath, Bond, Westerman and Wild in B&G. https://www.winnipegfreepress.com/sports/football/bombers/all-hail-hall-its-a-sure-bet-hell-be-back-with-big-blue-466531723.html
