serious scrap heaping going on in the Hammer
Fatty Liver replied to Booch's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Interesting, I wonder if this had anything to do with the Bombers setting him free? Are PR players allowed to listen to offers from other teams? -

A lot of Rider fans won't even admit that this was a planned strategy, they think the injuries were legitimate and compare them to Loffler and Heath taking a knee. It must be a coincidence that the 3 players who went down, Henry, Steele and Mrabure are all Natl. DT's which is the only position the Riders have enough depth to do this at. Here's hoping LaPo pursues the no-huddle set relentlessly in the Banjo Bowl so we get to watch Rider players continually flopping over like the spineless weasels they play for. -
What I can't bend my mind around is how a "man/child" ever finds women interested in dating them when they're still fascinated with dinky toys, super-hero movies and Lego? What woman in her right mind wants to date a 12 year old??? Back in the day, the only thing young men were interested in was *****, and getting a car to pursue it with. EDIT: Insert euphemism for "cat" above. Damn sensors!

This could be good, unlike a lot of these players Gray is getting a useful degree and knows football is only a temporary phase before he moves on with his career and real life. Why not go for the gusto, live some "glory days" in front of family and friends and take a shot at getting his name on a couple of Grey Cups, instead of wasting his time chasing some extra coin around on the fringes of NFL P.R.'s and promptly fading into obscurity?

Please ask them for me, "what the **** is wrong with you people?"

Mother of god, they haven't even rebuilt New Orleans yet, these storms are going to bankrupt an already bankrupt country. Hopefully Trump is golfing down in Mar-a-Lago when the storm surge hits!

Yah, Lego has become a bit of a scam since they went with the mini-blocks but they're probably paying huge licensing fees on all of these silly super-hero/Star Wars sets. It's still a great creative toy if you can get kids past the static models. I let my kids build the kits once then force them to disassemble and throw the pieces into a huge box with a million other pieces and hide the manuals so they have to come up with their own designs. Works great.

Apparently James their new DT was on crutches today. -
I call this game spot the contrarian.

How much less would a poster post, if a lesser poster posted less? Doesn't really work but wth.

He's a perfect Jones player, not embarrassed to fake an injury and then lie about it afterwards, now that's character! -
The difference is O'Shea contacted the league office and ran it by them before he used it, not sure Jones took that step.
-
What makes you think they did not give Thorpe a shot at kick returns as early as TC and made the decision that Lankford and Fogg performed better? None of the great kick returners are out there breaking tackles, they're avoiding them completely and running to space. Love Thorpe for his ability to break tackles but he hasn't yet shown elusiveness or the ability to find space like Flanders can.
-
Inconsequential, it's the space on the PR that he was occupying that got him cut. Probably a decent ST player but they need to find players that can eventually start.

What will be different in the Banjo Bowl?

That was Labatte, looked like a hand or wrist problem, probably tape it up and go. -
If neither Flanders or Harris were breaking tackles and getting first downs I honestly don't see Thorpe achieving it either. Sask. was swarm tackling very effectively, I had to check their coaching staff to see if Etch. was still working as a consultant as that's his M.O. LaPo got too cute and forgot to add the bit about stretching the field vertically, thus the Rider defenders didn't have to take deep routes seriously and collapsed on the ball carrier.

O'Shea should up the ante next game and run the no-huddle offence starting in the first Q and 5 or 6 additional times throughout the game. If Jones wants to tag along with his little game each time, this tactic is going to be front and center by the end of the game and the focus of CFL media coverage for the following week, embarrassing the Rider organization once again. Ambrosie has demonstrated that he doesn't have to wait until the off-season to nip abusive tactics in the bud and he needs to send the message that he won't tolerate abuse of the rules or the game under his watch, especially from that stupid little cracker.

just finished episode 4 of the new season, shocked to see an appearance by "Newman" playing a sleazy N.Y. lawyer.

What in Sam hell was Coates doing back there on kickoffs beside Lankford??? I half-expected him to pin the ball for a Lankford kickoff back the other way. -
Both Randle and Leggett were good.
-
Until Nichols threw his second interception in the end-zone, I thought the Bombers still had a good chance to win.

Hopefully this loss will motivate management to seek some mid-season adjustments to improve areas of weakness and not close their eyes completely to recent NFL cuts. LB is an area of need that must be upgraded if they expect to improve the team.
