Week 20: Bombers @ Stamps "Week Of" Thread
Fatty Liver replied to Noeller's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
I think it's 50/50 whether Nichols will recover in time for the playoffs. If O'Shea likes Davis's potential, he'll bring him back next year, no matter what happens the rest of the way. -

I think LeFevour is mentally tougher than Davis and should give the Bombers a better chance of winning against a depleted Stamps team, if LaPo allows him to play his game. -
Forgot this stat. Reilly 13 interceptions, Nichols 8.

How 'bout they scream like a little girl? -
Just re-watched the first half and thought the DL and the LB's played a very decent half of football, including Hurl. It occurs to me that Hall's strategy for this game was to pressure Jennings into making bad throws as he's been inaccurate all season, except it didn't really work as Jennings was still completing passes with defenders all over him, kudos to Jennings. Coverage on the back-end was loose as they were bringing the house on almost every play and the DB's weren't getting much help from the LB's underneath. Still two of the TD's BC scored in the first half were from broken coverage by the Walker/Porter/Alexander combo, so players are still messing up assignments in week 19, hard to fault Hall for that. Not sure why they kept Porter around all season as he doesn't have the physical abilities of Alexander, Walker or Frederick imo. I'm not a glutton for punishment so I think I'll skip reviewing the second half.

The fact that O'Shea has announced Nichols is not starting this early in the week makes me very suspicious, he never announces anything, ever. -

Hey, Marve won the last game of the season two years against the Stamps in the snow game and the forecast is looking ugly once again. -

Start LeFevour and give LaPo the day off, it might get ugly but Dan will do better on his own. -

Seemed to be the game plan for most of the games they lost this season, go away from Harris early and often until loss is secured. -
Davis honestly looked better in the last game of the season he played two years ago against the RB's. He seems to have potential but little confidence.

Should this regime be on the hot seat?
Fatty Liver replied to White Out's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Disagree, since last year they have added 2 new DB's, developed Santos-Knox and Corney and added 4 new D-linemen. I will accept the scheme has been insufficient but please point out which D players added this year have been busts? -
Uh huh, uh huh...Don is da playmaker.

Excellent game, much better than the Sask./Als. contest. How Kavis retains his job next year is beyond me, all I saw was a team full of ex-footballers playing out the string.

Fire Richie Hall !!!! DISGRACE COACH

I don't see the Stamps resorting to airlifts, they recruit in the off-season and if you look at the evidence of roster stability the Bombers are attempting to duplicate that process. -

I would be nervous about the Stamps blasting anyone at this point, especially a decent team like the Esks. Don't wake the beast. -
Could be, if there was an angled cross wind he might want to kick more directly into it and aim for the left post. Still missed to the right though.

Wally spoke with Bob on the Pre-game show a couple of weeks ago and pretty much confirmed that it was a difficult decision but he was going to stick to his retirement plan, win or lose. -
Why would Jones accommodate the Redskins interest?
-
Obviously I need a better TV set or a better imagination, TSN never showed the ball landing in any of their shots.

Not much drop off with Foketi in that position, more concerned with Bond's absence and his run blocking edge over Neufeld. With no Flanders all BC has to do is focus on Harris to shut down the running game completely.

Fire Richie Hall !!!! DISGRACE COACH

Good timing imo, late season jolt of realization makes for improved performance in the last few games and playoffs as players comprehend that their bosses are not happy with their play and jobs are on the line for next year. In fairness when Ray and the Argo offence are clicking they are arguably the best in the league now that they have a dynamic running attack.
