Deadliest Mass Shooting In US History - Las Vegas
Fatty Liver replied to The Unknown Poster's topic in General Discussion
Could be a father issue, his pop left home when he was 7 and he was a notorious criminal on the FBI's most wanted list. This guy was a nobody during his life-time and may have decided to leave his mark after his death. -
I expect Nichols to be #1 for 3-4 more years at least, so Davis will probably get tired of waiting for his opportunity and move on to greener pastures eventually. Transitioning to the next QB is well over the horizon and probably not on the radar of the Bomber brain-trust at this time. Best strategy is to keep a semi-competent CFL vet. handy ready to relieve while they cycle through the younger QB prospects until closer to an actual transition moment and then panic. Transitions rarely work out seamlessly as evidenced recently in B.C. and T.O. and are almost always fraught with seasons of difficulty.

Esks. just added Brendan Morgan to their P.R. -
Still surprised they didn't keep Austin Apodaca around as the 4th stringer, he seemed to have all the tools but maybe he refused a PR position and decided to move on with his life.

Bizarre signing period. When was the last time a QB that plays more like a RB had any success in the CFL? They could save some money by cutting him before he gets on the airplane.

Hey, if LeFevour is happy in his role hang on to him. Do you think Davis is going to be happy sitting around waiting for Nichols to go down for another 2-3 years?
-
I would agree that the team should not deviate from their playoff preparation by chasing this record which is secondary. Seems to me this is a story-line/talking point that TSN picked up on mid-season and and they want to milk it for all it's worth.

You mean da golf balls?

Owning that many guns should be changed from a "right" to a "red-flag". So far they haven't uncovered any motive on this guy, but the number of guns he owned is telling, somewhere, someone in the gun owner's community must be able to shed some light on the darkside of his personality. -
Our flawed political system prevents meaningful change in lieu of short-term political objectives. Last PM we had with balls was Paul Martin.

He was signed to the PR, so that has yet to be determined. They have quite a good group of LB there so them signing Bass is a mystery. -
Smells like Dan LeFevour.

If this game was played in Sask. I would pick the Riders but as it's not, Argos win. Edit: AC Leonard to the 6 game to make room for god knows who. -

As I understand it an automatic assault rifle is basically a light machine gun that fires from a magazine and can be switched between individual fire and rapid fire bursts to replicate a machine gun which is usually mounted. An AK-47 is an example of an assault rifle and from the rapid fire sounds caught on video it appears this idiot was basically sweeping the crowd assembled below, no aiming needed. -

In retrospect I realize when I attended College in the US in the late 80's there was a fellow student a few doors down from me in the dorm that had a small arsenal which included a 45 magnum for which he was physically assembling bullets in his room with a manual bullet press. Being a naive Canadian, I had no idea what this was about but was careful never to disagree with him about....anything. -

You have a point but think how easy it is currently for an American to collect guns, buy massive quantities of ammunition and secure a perch to carry out his "celebration" of anger, it's all pretty straight forward. Attacking a plane, a building or making a bomb requires a whole other level of motivation and organization that most nut-bars would be incapable of carrying out without being detected. Restrictions would go a long way to reducing the odds but you're right, they will probably never be eliminated. -

At some point they're going to need a Natl. referendum to institute controls over assault weapons but what the breaking point is, I don't know. If this ever came to a vote I believe less than 20% of Americans would vote for access to these weapons, they are a strong lobby but relatively small in number, most Americans are actually rational people. -

Yes, I believe they could insist that all bags brought in go through an x-ray scanner. I'm just referring to how motivated hotel owner's will deal with this issue rapidly, not trying to solve America's gun problem. Vegas Hotels will take action, America won't. -

In a case like that, the hotel could hold them in security for their patrons. -

Again, the pursuit of money and tourism dollars will push the Vegas hotels to ensure an event like this does not happen again on their turf. Baggage check with x-ray, oh yea good as done.
