Labour Day Classic: Winnipeg @ Saskatchewan
Fatty Liver replied to Rich's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
He's a perfect Jones player, not embarrassed to fake an injury and then lie about it afterwards, now that's character! -
The difference is O'Shea contacted the league office and ran it by them before he used it, not sure Jones took that step.
-
What makes you think they did not give Thorpe a shot at kick returns as early as TC and made the decision that Lankford and Fogg performed better? None of the great kick returners are out there breaking tackles, they're avoiding them completely and running to space. Love Thorpe for his ability to break tackles but he hasn't yet shown elusiveness or the ability to find space like Flanders can.
-
Inconsequential, it's the space on the PR that he was occupying that got him cut. Probably a decent ST player but they need to find players that can eventually start.

What will be different in the Banjo Bowl?

That was Labatte, looked like a hand or wrist problem, probably tape it up and go. -
If neither Flanders or Harris were breaking tackles and getting first downs I honestly don't see Thorpe achieving it either. Sask. was swarm tackling very effectively, I had to check their coaching staff to see if Etch. was still working as a consultant as that's his M.O. LaPo got too cute and forgot to add the bit about stretching the field vertically, thus the Rider defenders didn't have to take deep routes seriously and collapsed on the ball carrier.

O'Shea should up the ante next game and run the no-huddle offence starting in the first Q and 5 or 6 additional times throughout the game. If Jones wants to tag along with his little game each time, this tactic is going to be front and center by the end of the game and the focus of CFL media coverage for the following week, embarrassing the Rider organization once again. Ambrosie has demonstrated that he doesn't have to wait until the off-season to nip abusive tactics in the bud and he needs to send the message that he won't tolerate abuse of the rules or the game under his watch, especially from that stupid little cracker.

just finished episode 4 of the new season, shocked to see an appearance by "Newman" playing a sleazy N.Y. lawyer.

This is the pre-cursor to the Argo/Ticat suckfest? -

What in Sam hell was Coates doing back there on kickoffs beside Lankford??? I half-expected him to pin the ball for a Lankford kickoff back the other way. -
Both Randle and Leggett were good.
-
Until Nichols threw his second interception in the end-zone, I thought the Bombers still had a good chance to win.
-
Hopefully this loss will motivate management to seek some mid-season adjustments to improve areas of weakness and not close their eyes completely to recent NFL cuts. LB is an area of need that must be upgraded if they expect to improve the team.
-
Just wondering when Labatte hurt his hand why the refs. allowed them to take 3 minutes to get him off the field? I can see TSN reviewing these unnecessary delays as being detrimental to their broadcast.

Especially for the ones that have to stay. -
What da hell is going on? This thread has somehow devolved into bedtime stories as told by Norm MacDonald.
-
I wouldn't be surprised to see Flanders occasionally lining up there either. Short patterns and YAC are a big part of LaPo's game plan, no reason Flanders and Harris can't fill this role in second and long situations.

Kevin has an enormous chip on his shoulder that he's been carrying around for16 years. If he ever wins a G.C. the first thing he's going to do is point his finger at the camera and say " F.U. ALL!!!" -

I've also seen Corney line up inside but I don't believe either of those guys is doing what Nevis does. Logically Jake and Nevis are rotating and the other 3 DE's are freelancing. -

4 DE's+2 DT's, I don't get it. Who's rotating with Nevis? -
Can't bother with Coombs, they have to reserve a spot for Demski coming home.

Season at the half. awards, stats and fun.

Walker is still out so good chance Roc will be rotating. If you read between the lines of O'Shea's canny riddles, we can also expect to be "Poopless" in Regina. -
Sask. pretty much gave Ricky Collins away, so I don't think there is much reason for concern that a team would swipe Thorpe off the PR. Imp. receivers are not in short supply.
-
Honestly more concerned that Walker won't be ready to go and that Poop may sit out again.
