Natl. O-lineman are no longer worth $200,000+ when they can be replaced by an Import making half that amount, that is an adjustment that I believe is being made on a lot of teams and will soon become the norm.

Looking Ahead: Winnipeg Vs Calgary
Fatty Liver replied to Taynted_Fayth's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
In the last two meeting against the Stamps last year the Bombers held Messam to 65 and 72 yards, so he didn't run wild over them as he has in the past. With Johnson and Nevis clogging up the middle it could be a different ball game. I predict Sam "The Hammer" Hurl is the star of the game. -

Wally's going to be pissed, two years in a row Riders have poached young Natl. talent. Sure Zver didn't know the Riders would pick him up when he declined the PR spot. -
This idea that you shouldn't pay a very good kicker more than a receiver or Natl. O-lineman is short-sighted, considering they are the second most influential player behind the QB in determining a games outcome. If the Bombers would have stuck with Lirim last year there's a good chance their record could have been 2-3 wins less and potentially missed the playoffs. How many $$ is that worth?

Fixed it for ya, no need to thank me.

RB's sign seven including Intzandt release one. Not sure how that math works but that's a fairly extensive player infusion this early into the season. The Ottawa REDBLACKS of the Canadian Football League made the following roster transactions: SIGNED National running back Wayne Moore HT: 6-0 | WT: 220 lbs | Age: 25 Hometown: Toronto, ON | School: McMaster International receiver Cody Hoffman HT: 6-4 | WT: 210 lbs | Age: 26 Hometown: Crescent City, CA | School: Brigham Young National offensive lineman Zachary Intzandt HT: 6-4 | WT: 313 lbs | Age: 23 Hometown: London, ON | School: McMaster International offensive lineman Armando Bonheur HT: 6-2 | WT: 305 lbs | Age: 23 Hometown: Orange Park, FL | School: Samford National linebacker Josh Brinkworth HT: 6-1 | WT: 205 lbs | Age: 24 Hometown: Elk Grove, CA | School: Pacific International defensive back Adrian James HT: 6-0 | WT: 195 lbs | Age: 25 Hometown: Dallas, TX | School: Texas – El Paso International receiver DeMarcus Thompson HT: 6-6 | WT: 248 lbs | Age: 25 Hometown: DeSoto, TX | School: Abilene Christian RELEASED International defensive lineman Jason Ankrah (Nebraska) -

Please add Darryl Rogers, I need to vote!

Two games in and Carter hasn't contributed much, he'd better step it up as this is pretty much his last chance to do so in the CFL.

I think a lot of it has to do with the demise of print media delivered to the door daily, people followed the CFL because that was the sports news that local media delivered daily. Now people tend to go online for their news, weather and sports info.. It's much easier to get caught up in the hype of the NFL as the volume of information and the level of promotion is huge compared to the CFL which has become a niche product even within Canadian borders. I think this all starts at age 10-12 when most boys get interested in following and watching football, if everyone at school is talking NFL other kids are going to pick up on that right away and deem the CFL inferior. The only hope the CFL has of generating new fans is to get them into the stadiums repeatedly so they become fans of live football and that depends a lot on parents being interested in the product and taking their kids while they're still young.

Do you think football fans are following the NFL or are football fans in CGY. dwindling? I spent 7 years in Cgy. and didn't run into many football fans, most people were tied up in their careers and raising their kids.

Gerry Moddejonge @GerryModdejonge The #Stampeders have added DE Aston Whiteside to their practice roster after he missed #Esks training camp with border crossing issue. #CFL Oh oh, Whiteside is a beast when healthy, hopefully he doesn't play this Friday. -
It works! It works! It totally works!!! Paid $100 US for the Express VPN for 12 months and $80 US for the all CFL team pass which includes video on demand for game replays. I don't see why a CDN. credit card couldn't be used as it will just add the exchange rate. Now I just have to figure out how to broadcast this to my SmartTV. Thank you Johnzo!

New Mosaic Stadium & Investors Group Field
Fatty Liver replied to Mosaic's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
To me it sounded like the Rider fans chose to boo to create noise volume when Wpg. had the ball, sounded different than the noise generated at IGF which is more of a roar. Can anyone confirm? -

Disagree, you're describing the 2015 team not this version, they didn't get blown out by any team last year and there's no reason it should happen this year. This is a competitive team on both sides of the ball and one of the biggest improvements over past teams is the great leadership they have on the field. -

Whatever they did last year got them very close to beating the Stamps, so a bit more of that should do it. -
In the 3 games Dressler has played against the Riders since becomeing a Bomber he is 20/336 yds. 2 TD's.
-
Bombers have won 3 of the last 4 in Regina so the stigma of playing there is almost forgotten.
-
Agreed, O'shea has to start making the smart decisions to help the team win games and compete with the top teams in the league and forgo the macho bluster of "we can hold them". Well they didn't. With a good kickoff and coverage they could have pinned the Riders near their own 20.

Hopefully they can use Knox to nullify Messam in running situations, he sure looks like he can lay the punishment down. -
Hope Johnson is back for the Stamps or Mitchell will rip Carmichael to shreds.

Why don't we use Weston Dressler as a rturner?
Fatty Liver replied to B-F-F-C's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Well sure, I'd take McDuffie back in a heartbeat but I'm running out of wish bones. -
I think the interior of the D-line did their job last night and that allowed Hurl to do his job well. If that breaks down next week and Messam gets rolling, Hurl's critics will be back.

Fatty Liver replied to B-F-F-C's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
I like Lankford, he's doing well and he's a real threat to break a long one, if he can get into space he's gone. Dressler is far too valuable to risk returning kicks. -
That's one downside of going with Hurl at MLB, Bass and Wild were equally good at getting to the QB, Hurl doesn't have the speed and never quite makes it.
