New Firefighters with Bomber Connections

That could be true. -
That would be a poor way to determine who needed to be removed. If the plane was over-booked they should have gone back to a time-line to determine which passengers were the last to book. I assumed that Mr. Dao was on stand-by and was allowed on the plane before the booked seat holder had arrived. Details of the scenario seem to be lacking, which makes his removal look like a random act.
-
So how is the airline liable for the action of these individuals? Sure, they called for security but did not dictate the methods used to remove the passenger from the plane. What is missing from this footage is the time the airline spent negotiating with Mr. Dao to leave the airplane in a reasonable manner. How did they select Dao as the passenger that needed to be removed?

Isn't it more likely that the security officers were employees of the airport rather than the airline? I've never heard of an airline having their own security personnel other than the undercover flight monitors.

The CFL can not afford to let that happen, there's no going back. If the league is to prosper it has to get beyond relying on gate receipts. Most sports streaming websites are sponsored almost exclusively by online betting, especially the British and Asian ones. It's a shady world but I wonder if the CFL can benefit from this source of sponsorship revenue on a global level. Gamblers aren't necessarily interested in the event, just the results. -

I can understand the problem, now that all games are televised the radio broadcast almost becomes irrelevant. That said, I guess I will be tuning into CJOB for the two preseason games. -

I think Michel-Pierre Pontbriand also became a fire-fighter in old Quebec. -

It's no wonder CJOB's ratings are declining, once the season is over Bob virtually goes into hibernation and doesn't re-emerge until T.C. The major broadcaster needs to do more during the off-season to keep the Bombers and the CFL in the news. It's not like there's nothing going on in the off-season, did Bob even attend CFL Week? The broadcaster in Regina does a much better job keeping the Riders front and center, a day doesn't go by that they don't discuss something CFL or Rider related. I love Bob but CJOB really deserves to lose the broadcast rights. -
Liars and hypocrites all and yet the majority of the public continues to believe these fairy tales and allows unfettered access to tax dollars to be directed towards infinite military spending. I wonder what the cost of that 21,000 lbs. bomb was? I'm thinking the cost benefit is hugely out of whack to turn mud back into dust...

Cannibalism run amuck, nobody left except the toothiest. -
Years ago during the last boom people in AB. would build a house live in it for a year or two and build another one and never pay capital gains. I know a few that did this multiple times when the price was climbing, I don't imagine there is a market for that activity any longer.

I already don't like nobody.

Perhaps Poison Ivy League at best. :-)

Season one episode 4 so far.

I'm trying really hard to get through the Netflix series "House of Cards" but the reality of US politics makes it far too depressing to enjoy.
-
Started out that way but in the end I was paying $4500 US per semester and that was back in 1990 when the CDN. dollar bottomed out at 60 cents. The program I was enrolled in was not eligible for student loans at the time as it was also offered in MB. I worked 2 jobs, 16 hour days/nights during the summer months to make a go of it. I ain't bitchin, I had a blast and came through it about $6000 in debt to the bank, and I'd do it all again in a heartbeat.

Orridge to Step Down as Commissioner

Best thing Orridge did was the planning for CFL Week and the Combine, he didn't receive much credit for that. -

Candidate #1 for TSN's live mic. experiment. -
Education rebate? What the hell, no such thing in my day, consider yourself fortunate.

I wonder if the league will continue with the "live mic." experiment this year. Hervey has a point, it really is no more than a gimmick and it's not a feature of the TSN broadcast that they can grow due to the information that opposing teams can pilfer from the broadcast feed. So what's the point in doing this a couple of times per season? It would be far more entertaining if they mic'd up a couple of trash talkers on either side of the ball and let them have at it. Receivers and D backs would be good candidates. -

I see some Riderfans are now predicting that with this firing the Esks. are well positioned to "**** the bed".....while being completely oblivious to the peril of their own team waking up with stinky blankets. The collection of delusional characters that assemble there daily to rip each other up and shred logic is endlessly fascinating and a wee bit morbid to witness. -
That's right, I remember raking my lawn the day before the blizzard hit.

Sean Fleming Let's be clear, this move was strictly all about Rhodes' ego and the negotiations to extend Ed's contract which were initiated by the organization. - Ed was looking to be paid market rate for GMs in the league, which is a reasonable ask, given his success and how he handled the staff exodus last season. Rhodes took issue with that since it would mean Ed would be making more than Rhodes, a point he raised with Ed. - Ed was looking for a bump up in title to President of Football Operations. That didn't sit well with Rhodes. - Rhodes didn't like the fact that Terry Jones was publically calling Rhodes weak by stating that football ops was running the show in Edmonton and across the league. In the meantime, attendance continues to drop under Rhodes' leadership on the business side. This coming from a guy who brought you the concert series with Vanilla Ice as a way to increase attendance. To blame that on Ed when he is putting a winning product on the field is an attempt to pass the buck. All the rest of the excuses Rhodes is trying to peddle is just an attempt to backfill. Why entering into negotiations to extend if you have been looking to replace him since January? A total contradiction.
