If that was my last name I'd pronounce it "Smith".

The whole premise that Kevin Glenn is there only as a stop-gap while the "Young-uns" pick up the game is ludicrous, unless they accept a 4-5 win season (which they won't) Glenn is their best chance to win. -

The Bombers really need to kick the Riders ass sideways in their first game in the new park to set the tone for the season and send their fans off on the crazy train. Nothing else matters. -
You are exceptionally brave.

Sounds like Murphy is sticking to his guns and will continue to play the Riders version of "hardball" despite the problems they encountered negotiating the contract with St. John last year. "It’s well known what we decided to do last year and take a very different stance with our draft pick (St. John) and what we going to pay and how we were going to structure it. I think that taking that approach again with Cameron Judge … and Dariusz Bladek who may or may not have felt like he was going to get drafted a little bit higher than where he ended up with. I think the offers to those guys are more than fair in terms of the market value…. If they like those offers, they’ll be in camp the first day. If for some reason they don’t feel it’s something they want to commit to or that they’re comfortable with committing to yet, well then the other 75 guys plus the draft picks that have signed will be there, and much like Josiah St. John, those guys (Judge and Bladek) will make their way to Saskatoon when both sides feel it’s best for them to make a deal. So the stress isn’t on us to get something done…. We’re going off of the figures and the numbers that we utilized last year, what worked for us to get our deals done…. The important thing to remember is we are now closer to a new CBA being negotiated than to an old one. And if you continue to pile on to these rookie contracts that have been done in the past three to five years, we’re going to get to a stopping point where you’re having to cut veteran Canadians or cut your mid-level American players in order to afford signing draft picks who have yet to prove themselves in any way, shape, or form. And that is an area that is a huge concern. " -

Riders sign another upstanding specimen, Maty Mauk will be the 5th QB in T.C. previously suspended from Mizzou 3 times in 4 months for various shenanigans. So sad Michael Vick wasn't interested, he would have been a marquis headliner. Jones just don't care, it's all good. -
Lot's of new player interviews up on the Bombers website. http://www.bluebombers.com/videos/ Kyle Knox, Nichols, Lefevour and D. Davis. I see they are all wearing black Bomber gear, is this something new?

Ouch.

That's a "hack" of a post.

Excellent timing, the GM Miller found in Joe Mack's waste basket is making Corky look extraordinarily bad.

It looks like Jones loves to throw money around as long as it's not coming out of his budget. I wonder how much it cost them to fly in every coach and scout for the CFL Combine, wine and dine them and put them up at the Saskabush Hilton for a week? -

This makes Riderfans criticism of Walters pre-draft contract signing of Ekakitie last week look completely foolish, but that's par for the course. Defenders to the gates! -
I don't think Richards can be judged on his career just yet but you can definitely say he wasn't a great high draft pick at the time considering the injury issue he seems to have had even prior to the draft. There was more expectation that Loffler would suffer from injury problems and that was reflected in his lower draft position. In the end those injury concerns may limit the length of his career but he has provided immediate pay back so far.

Both Denmark and Dressler are winding down the clock, I don't expect either will be with the team two years from now. It's past-time for the Bombers to find the next big receiver and stick with him until pay-off, they really haven't recruited a good one of their own since Chris Matthews. Speaking of which where is he now?

Can we please get back on topic??? I believe we were discussing the wonderful world of Don Unammmbaaa!!!

Curse of the "CJ's". I think Frederick made more of an impact and Fogg is more versatile.

Hold the horses, Tonto. It's a little too early to determine that.
-
Sherman would seem to be the obvious Waggoner replacement, if he needs to be replaced. He can backup Safety or LB and was great on ST as well.
-
Yah, but I can't recall him ever playing Safety. I think if Loffler goes down, Jones still goes to field corner.
-
Walters said recently D. Jones is Loffler's backup. I can't see them gambling on Conteh playing this year.
-
Surprised they cut Morgan, seems they are short of Natl. depth in the D-backfield. Too me this suggest substitutions will occur in the LB position.
-
Walters also negotiated this contract before the draft to avoid the fuss Jones went through with St. John last year. Negotiating in good faith, what a concept.
