As mentioned earlier, maybe Barriere gets picked up by the Stamps to reunite with his former coach Beau Baldwin. Wilson got comfortable real fast in that first game, I'd be surprised if any other QB is going to dislodge him from #3.
-
Do they still have the life-sized bobble heads ringing the concourse or was that just a time limited promo?
-
And where do the Argos find themselves heading into this season, and think about why it was allowed to happen?
-
Echoes what Andrew Harris said when he joined the Argos in 2022, he found the animosity that existed within the dressing room hard to comprehend.
-
I don't know if you listen to O'Shea's press conferences closely enough to comprehend the message he continually puts out. Here are a few constants. 1. He relates to and likes intelligent hard working blue collar players. (Kramdi, Jake Thomas, Woli, Schoen, Neufeld) 2. He likes players who are willing to teach, as the coaches do not have enough time in the day to deal with slow learners, if you're dumb your chances of making the team are not good, no matter the physical talent. 3. He rewards commitment and longevity as any union boss would, he's also pro-Canadian. 4. He respects the veterans in the room to protect their culture and choose their teammates wisely, assholes are not tolerated.

Post-game press conference, O'Shea stated they weren't in a rush and wanted to take advantage of the time they had to evaluate fully. Could be no more cuts till final cut down.
-
Jake's explanation for the late signing was he was fully exploring his NFL opportunities.
-
It sounds like he was mixing up Jake with Clarence Denmark, who was cut then brought back to finish the season.
-
Don't see that happening early on unless Schmeckle proves ineffective in games, as it deprives him the path he needs to take to eventually replace Jake and perhaps his desire to re-sign with the Bombers in the off-season. When Lawson returns O'Shea may be forced to make a tough decision on which players to choose.
-
Maybe Arbckle will have a resurgence like Nichols did when he came to Wpg., he was on his last legs in Edmonton after being demoted to play behind phenom James Franklin, just before he was traded to the Bombers.
-
When was that?

His wife is from Regina, in the end he may not get to make this decision. 😄 -

He did not leave the Riders on good terms, that may be at the heart of his indecision. Jones cut him after Taman previously deferred his salary after coming back from the NFL and taking much less to play in Sask.. Money that was promised but never paid. -
One man's perspective.

Darrin Bauming @DarrinBauming · 1h Mike O’Shea says Cam Lawson may return later this season. He’s likely to miss more than six games.
-
Unlikely scenario, you know nothing like that will happen as it negates continuity and chemistry, 3 DT's in rotation is adequate, probably Fox, Schmeckle and Jake to start the season with another import on the PR. Haba and Garbutt taking over from Jeffcoat with an import DE hopefully developing on the PR.
-
To be fair, there were multiple Bomber players wearing the same number for some reason.
-
BA can no longer stay healthy, might be time to "Mike Miller" him and keep him on the 6 game this year helping out the coaching staff, transitioning into another role.
-
Last season they kept 3 on the active roster and 0 on the PR, with Strev. handling 3rd down and Brown's backup job, I don't see any reason to keep another QB on the active roster when he doesn't have a role. Strev. will be hungry for every rep he can get, he didn't sign a bottom drawer contract to share limited snaps with a rookie.
-
Can't see them keeping 4 QB's around, 2 on the roster 1 on the PR is more efficient and cost effective, Sask. does it but it always proves rather wishy-washy and pointless as they end up cutting most of them anyway. If a Bomber QB goes down they can always pick up a temp. like Arbuckle or Cornelius hot off the couch.
-
His weight looked well structured, he ain't no Dan Clark in terms of physique.
-
Schmekel only dressed for 5 games last season, the rest of the year he was on the PR. If they try putting him on the PR again this year, he may go home to Sask. With Lawson now out Schmeck has a chance to oust Jake as the 2nd Natl.. I think they'll stick with the 3 DT rotation again this year, 2 Natl's and 1 Import, take your pick which one they keep, one other stashed on the PR learning the ropes.

It depends I guess, it took Vernon Adams 4-5 years to ascend to starter status, still not sure he was worth the time invested in developing him. Physical tools are easy to evaluate, it's the mental tools a QB possesses that make the difference between the good and the mediocre.
-
Two possibilities, Wallace heads back to NFL camps in the off-season for a couple of years, or he hastens the end of Neufeld's playing days as a Bomber.
