  1. Perhaps Poison Ivy League at best. :-)
  2. Season one episode 4 so far.
  3. I'm trying really hard to get through the Netflix series "House of Cards" but the reality of US politics makes it far too depressing to enjoy.
  4. Started out that way but in the end I was paying $4500 US per semester and that was back in 1990 when the CDN. dollar bottomed out at 60 cents. The program I was enrolled in was not eligible for student loans at the time as it was also offered in MB. I worked 2 jobs, 16 hour days/nights during the summer months to make a go of it. I ain't bitchin, I had a blast and came through it about $6000 in debt to the bank, and I'd do it all again in a heartbeat.
  5. Best thing Orridge did was the planning for CFL Week and the Combine, he didn't receive much credit for that.
  6. Rider Nation has spoken! As a reward Brendan Taman will be appointed the next commish.
  7. Candidate #1 for TSN's live mic. experiment.
  8. Education rebate? What the hell, no such thing in my day, consider yourself fortunate.
  9. I wonder if the league will continue with the "live mic." experiment this year. Hervey has a point, it really is no more than a gimmick and it's not a feature of the TSN broadcast that they can grow due to the information that opposing teams can pilfer from the broadcast feed. So what's the point in doing this a couple of times per season? It would be far more entertaining if they mic'd up a couple of trash talkers on either side of the ball and let them have at it. Receivers and D backs would be good candidates.
  10. I see some Riderfans are now predicting that with this firing the Esks. are well positioned to "**** the bed".....while being completely oblivious to the peril of their own team waking up with stinky blankets. The collection of delusional characters that assemble there daily to rip each other up and shred logic is endlessly fascinating and a wee bit morbid to witness.
  11. That's right, I remember raking my lawn the day before the blizzard hit.
  12. Resurect Milli Vanilli. Literally.
  13. Sean Fleming Let's be clear, this move was strictly all about Rhodes' ego and the negotiations to extend Ed's contract which were initiated by the organization. - Ed was looking to be paid market rate for GMs in the league, which is a reasonable ask, given his success and how he handled the staff exodus last season. Rhodes took issue with that since it would mean Ed would be making more than Rhodes, a point he raised with Ed. - Ed was looking for a bump up in title to President of Football Operations. That didn't sit well with Rhodes. - Rhodes didn't like the fact that Terry Jones was publically calling Rhodes weak by stating that football ops was running the show in Edmonton and across the league. In the meantime, attendance continues to drop under Rhodes' leadership on the business side. This coming from a guy who brought you the concert series with Vanilla Ice as a way to increase attendance. To blame that on Ed when he is putting a winning product on the field is an attempt to pass the buck. All the rest of the excuses Rhodes is trying to peddle is just an attempt to backfill. Why entering into negotiations to extend if you have been looking to replace him since January? A total contradiction.
  14. Paul Jones named interim GM. Smart move.
  15. Barker soft landing in 3, 2, 1....
  16. Agreed it could be financial, the CFL auditors were supposed to release their cap accounting for 2016 this past Weds., so far nothing has been released.
  17. McLeod John Baltazar Bethel-Thompson accounts for two spots unto himself.
  18. Ok, I admit, I have a prejudice against drafting any receivers coming out of Sask. Sue me.
  19. Another tall skinny receiver from Sask.? Uh no thanks.
  20. I could have my storms mixed up but wasn't that the one that dumped snow pellets for 24 hours non-stop on top of the 3 ft. of snow that was already laying on the ground? I just remember attempting to shovel the walk and not being able to throw the heavy snow high enough to clear the sides. It all melted within a couple of days anyways and brought on massive flooding.
  21. I'd be all in on Crompton it if the Bombers hadn't already signed LeFevour. What I picked up from watching him was that he was primarily a smart QB who got things done, despite his multitude of critics. Queue forms below.
  22. Do they have a contract with a school division for school bus rental or are they provided through a private school bus service such as King Transport?
  23. Sorry, I thought it was still free.
  24. Time for the Bombers to eliminate the transit subsidy, fans now know where the buses are and how to use them. Now it's time for them to pay to use them. "The WFC continues to incur significant costs, especially compared to other clubs in the League, for game day transportation to and from the stadium that results from charges imposed by Winnipeg Transit and other third party providers. The Club continues to work with the stakeholders of the Integrated Transportation Plan Agreement to address this ongoing cost burden."
  25. Did someone mention Frau Blucher?
