I thought Walters was quite forthright, the only thing I read into his presentation was an open disdain for the media held by many in the sporting community. I would categorize a few of his comments as nothing less than unnecessary cheap shots towards a media that has been quite supportive of his tenure. Kyle's mother should have told him, "if you don't want to be scrutinized, don't sign up to sing Ethel Merman show tunes."

First post 'expectations in '17'

As someone who watched the Jets leave Wpg. many years ago for a host of reasons including low attendance in a poor facility. I often wonder where all of this disposable income that people are now blowing on hockey comes from when I see MTS Center filled to the rafters night after night. Wpg. has not seen much growth in population over the last 20 years and it's economy has been steady but certainly has not improved in any significant way. It does look like a younger demographic filling the stands and perhaps in these times of low interest rates and easy money this generation is more inclined to spend their savings on entertainment than the previous generation was. Anyone have a good explanation? -
The Manny Show - Loffler was a hit
Fatty Liver replied to HardCoreBlue's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
In the video of the Lion's locker room after the game Manny was sporting a crutch, forgotten in all of this hub-bub is that he twisted his ankle prior to his appt. with Dr. Loffler. -
We have no way to know for sure but you may be giving Walters too much credit for the personnel currently on the roster. The way Walters, O'Shea and Miller are connected at the hip I find it hard to believe that they wouldn't all share in the job of deciding which personnel to bring in. Add to that, LaPo and Hall's input as former H.C.'s and long-time members of the CFL fraternity and this team could easily have been formed by committee with Walters serving as the spokesperson. For example, in the case of Heath was it Walters sole decision to pursue that specific player or did Richie Hall tell him which DB he wanted most from the Argos.

Great video shot in the Lion's locker room after the game awarding the game ball. http://www.bclions.com/2016/11/13/all-access-gameballs-november-13th/ -
For maximum viewing pleasure watch the first half twice.

Wouldn't that be a kick in the pants if O'Shea jumped ship just when things started to turn around, especially after Walters supported him through two rough years of growing pains.

Sounds like Chungh might not be a free agent

It seems pretty easy to keep Import O-line content and away from FA, pay them decently and feed them well and they'll hang around for a long time. -
Three of those kickers were Riders, so that goes without question.

All of the longest FG's in CFL history have occurred at Taylor Field and fair to say that they were probably all wind assisted. Longest Field Goal 62 yards - Paul McCallum, (October 27, 2001 at Taylor Field) 60 yards - Dave Ridgway, (September 6, 1987 at Taylor Field) 59 yards - Dave Cutler, (October 28, 1970 at Taylor Field) 59 yards - Paul Watson, (July 12, 1981 at Taylor Field) 58 yards - seven players, seven times

The Manny Show - Loffler was a hit

Stamps will thank Loffler, if Manny is no go next weekend. Love Denmark all to pieces but if he had to face Loffler I think he would revert to the fainting goat routine. -
The CFL will move their head office to Regina and put Chris Jones in charge to run the league as he sees fit, all to please the World's greatest fans.

The Manny Show - Loffler was a hit
Fatty Liver replied to HardCoreBlue's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Reminded me of the hit Demond Washington put on Fred Stamps in the end-zone a couple of years ago, Stamps left the stadium on a stretcher. Although Fred was already on the decline, fair to say he was never the same player after that hit. I know some fans love to see that level of brutality but player safety is more important than some wannabe warriors getting their jollies cheering as an athlete lies unconscious or crippled on the field. -
I totally agree, O'Shea's decision was worse than Wally's but that doesn't exclude the similarity of the situations as the odds of success were nearly zero.
-
Little relevance??? It was the same two teams, playing in the same stadium less then two months ago and each coach expected his kicker to make a 61 yd. FG. in a windless dome. I think O'Shea should have remembered those circumstances.
-
O-Line, I believe they kept Nichols clean again.
-
Went away from Harris in the second half and stopped running the ball, it's pretty clear that keeping Harris involved through 4 Q's should be an important part of the game plan.

What's Brian Randle up to these days
Fatty Liver replied to Dr. Blue's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
It looks like only 10 imports allowed per team. I see ratio management issues that make the CFL ratio seem like a breeze. You all vewy bad, but you play anyway. -
Well I'll be, never noticed how much LaPo looks like one of those Angry Bird characters.
-
Smith ain't dropping them, Nichols ain't hitting him.

It's the year of let's slather the Stamps with awards, even if they don't win the cup. -
6 Bombers named CFL Division All-Stars
Fatty Liver replied to Mike's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Well, both John Chick and Shawn Lemon qualified as all-stars, so that must count for something. On another note what's up with Justin Sorensen? In Wpg. he was delegated expendable, in Edm. he's a frickin' all-star! -
Oh I believe they'll do everything in their power to bring Nichols back, as they should. Until another outplays him, he's number one and that may not happen until he goes down with injury sometime in the future.
-
The next game is the biggest of Nichols career. If he bombs out he's going to have to deal with an off-season of doubt and some stiff competition at next year's TC. If he plays well and wins, he's going to occupy a page in O'Shea's good book for life and it'll be many years before we see his replacement emerge.

Would we have any interest in Franklin?
Fatty Liver replied to Taynted_Fayth's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
It would be well worth trading a first round draft pick just for the satisfaction of squeezing the last glimmer of hope out of the Rider mob.
