No lock for Neufeld, maybe a twist-tie. -

If you watch Denmark for long enough, you realize he tries to avoid gang tackling situations as much as possible. Going up for a high throw over the middle just isn't his style. He either goes down on first contact or he angles for the sidelines to avoid a serious smack-down. Last game he had one guy to beat for a sure TD and instead of heading towards the middle of the field and fighting through the tackle, he angles for the sidelines and gets ushered out of bounds. Call it self-preservation or whatever but this has allowed him to stay healthy throughout his career and contribute game after game as a reliable target. -

Macho wasn't playing all that bad when he went down with injury and he was a solid contributor to ST. In the few games he played he blocked a punt and recovered an on-side kickoff. -

Anyone have an idea how the Riders can break the CFL record for going through the most players in one season and not violate the salary cap? Sure a lot of them were only paid for a game or two but when you burn through 120 plus signings in a year, little by little it eats up the salary cap. Add this to the $26,000 salary cap deduction for earlier roster violations and the financial damage done by numerous retirement after cashing signing bonus scenarios they went through, there can't be much room left. The auditors better take their fine tooth-ed comb when they go through the greasy green bastards books this off-season. -

Problem I see is that Couture is relatively small playing beside a relatively small Center. They won't be running many QB sneaks in that direction and that is a dead giveaway as to where the ball is going. -

Time for the Bombers to fish or cut bait with Neufeld and his salary, if he can't protect at least as well as Couture he'll be gone in the off-season to accommodate the #1 O-lineman in the 2017 draft. I think Neufeld still has some trade value so they should be able to get something for him in return, maybe a 3rd or 4th round draft pick. -

I'd give Adams another week of practice before inserting him, he's not going to be in great game shape after such a long layoff and they need all hands on board to secure second place. -
Plus DorD may not remember what he was hoping for when the season began.
-
Yah, but they just beat Edm. and took Wpg. to the wire, so that may no longer be relevant.
-
Brace yourself, after watching the Riders suck this weekend, I can see BC hammering them both home and away.
-
Xactly, just have to find a new way to bring enormous pressure and pick off his errant throws.
-
Nah, they're over-confident and BLM thinks he's invincible. Edmonton showed how to dismantle them last year and made BLM look ordinary, I don't think this year's version of the Stamps is any better. It's just a matter of having an opponent perform at the top of their game and play ball from the opening whistle on. (HEY BOMBERS!) A team with a pretty record like that is never as good as they think they are.
-
Calgary is ripe for the picking and I think the Bombers or Esks. are the only two teams with a realistic chance of upsetting them.
-
Messam has certainly redeemed himself, don't often see a "bad apple" take the opportunity of a second chance and making it shine.

I'll admit I'm been drinking but how did T.O. get Posey and turn him into a receiver in less then a week? Amazing!
-
Great play by Chick, hard to fault Henry on that one.
-
Invaluable of course, unless you're paying him a decent salary to pretend he's one of the team leaders in the clubhouse but never demonstrates it on the field, then you could classify it as a colossal waste of money.

Miller starting contract extension talks with Walters O'Shea
Fatty Liver replied to Jpan85's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Let's not be silly and pretend this is a good idea. I'd give O'Shea 2 and Walters 3 and if O'Shea continues winning, I'd happily pay him more for his third contract. No need to follow in the footsteps of our Sask. neighbours throwing money away on contract buyouts, especially since this regime has only produced one winning season so far. A lot of bad things can happen in 4 years, believe it or not. -
Doug Brown Final 2016 Ring of Honour Inductee
Fatty Liver replied to Rich's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
As long as none of the old-timers are still living it doesn't really make much difference when they're inducted. It was nice that they honoured Bud Grant, Ken Ploen and Jerry James before they passed.
