  1. Nichols won't sign with the Riders as long as he has a functioning brain in his head and a veto.
  2. I think so too, he was convinced that he made it but the refs. disagreed.
  3. If that's the case they should have a contract offer in a drawer waiting for his return. If he can beat their numbers he signs elsewhere, if not, welcome back.
  4. I'd bet when Glenn came to Wpg. last year he did not expect to account almost zero playing time with the team seeing as how he's picked up game reps. as back-up in every other recent stop, Cgy, BC, Sask, Mtl. He's probably still riding the low base pay contract with incentives acquired for games played and came to realize as long as Nichols remains healthy his chances of ever touching the field under O'Shea are virtually zero. Bombers were probably happy to continue this arrangement but Glenn, maybe not.
  5. Wow, that's huge. Lion's D will be much less effective without Bighill.
  6. If the team truly believes in Davis they should have no reservations parting ways with their tattered old security blanket, otherwise their gums are just flappin.
  7. Farhan Lalji ✔ @FarhanLaljiTSN #BCLions release punter Richie Leone so that he can sign with the #Cardinals. Will receive a significant signing bonus. #NFL #CFL 1:01 PM - 3 Jan 2017
  8. I guess that is the ultimate brass ring for Mulumba at this point. How many games needed to obtain pension?
  9. It would be interesting to study the numbers, obviously he's strung it out long enough to make it work financially for him. It's a business, for 95% of football players their careers will be over within 5 years and they will fade from memory within a few years anyways.
  10. Well ****! For like the fourteenth time.
  11. The mistake is in believing they actually work for "the people", when in fact they are working for the people who line their pockets. They do their best not to lie to that group.
  12. I think you've summarized the reason Trump got elected pretty well. Trump is not a part of the existing political structure, thus he is a radical, much as Bernie Sanders would have been regarded as a radical if he had advanced further in the presidential election. A radical could potentially make things better by introducing drastic improvements to the system but one could also easily see how Trump could make things much worse than they currently are and divide the country further.
  13. I expect we'll see Steinhauer return to the CFL sometime in the future as soon as a team offers him a HC position. All may not be will in Hamilton under Austin, first Condell walks away and now Steinhauer. Can't help feeling the Ti-Cats may have peaked a few years ago and are now on their way down.
  14. I pressed them little white arrows and they didn't work. I think they is broken.
  15. Whoosh. You missed that one.
  16. You can take player loyalty and shove it up your Muamba as far as it goes. It's overrated compared to $$$.
  17. That's why I used the word "arrives", never said anything about "developing" him.
  18. That rule also applies when visiting the US, I spent 4 years down there and learned to keep my mouth zipped when those subjects came up.
  19. Glenn would be a stop-gap until the "next one" arrives and probably couldn't advance the team in the play-offs any further than Nichols.
  20. I've had the same thought, if Walters strikes out with both Nichols and Durant he's playing with fire. Can't realistically bank on Franklin or Burris coming to Wpg., so the best case scenario would be if Glenn takes over and shows that he is still capable of putting wins on the board, which really wouldn't surprise me with a good team around him. I think he could run LaPo's cautious style O just as well as Nichols in time.
  21. "Bubblehead" couldn't tolerate an answer longer then 10 seconds, it was supposed to be an interview, not a debate. The interviewer asks questions and the interviewee answers them, interrupting in the middle of an answer by asking another question is just a method to disrupt and discredit the interviewee. I can't tolerate this style of journalism as it just makes everyone dumber. God help us.
  22. Throwing a young QB like Davis to the wolves doesn't mean never giving him the opportunity to play until he is "ready". This in fact can't be determined without game time. I think the key is not leaving him in too long so that the other team begins to pick his bones clean. Best if after a time of faltering badly he can be retracted and replaced by an old vet like Glenn who can absorb a licking without having his confidence damaged. I think the way Wally handles Jennings is a very good example of the proper way to do it, let him play but moderate his progress and have a ready alternative on hand to step in when needed.
  23. So McDuffie is free to kick the doors for an NFL deal along with Burnett and Bass, who else? Not one of those 3 are "easily replaceable" so a bit surprised Walters is letting them drift before they're extended. It seems like the landscape of the CFL is shifting a bit with the personnel becoming more transient and the allowance of essential keystone players like Bighill to wander. Any club on the upswing like the Bombers will have a hard time with continuity if they have to replace 5-10 set pieces every year. It reminds me a bit of scrub football, you form teams out of who ever shows up to play. Not good.
